Barbagallo Citroen C4 Clutch replacement - On time, below budget, extra work performed, attention to detail – Having mechanics who know the "breed" of car, have the correct tools, and have done the work heaps of times made this a total no brainer. Especially, when the provided a quote… that beat UltraTune, Lube Mobile, KMart Auto, Allpike Motors by more than $400. Honest in there assessment, they provided old parts (and what a mess they were in). Quoted $1500 but price came in well under, plus there was additional work to do, besides the clutch. Always kept me in the loop, and offered loan car (not required). In fact $100 less. Based on my experience, I will almost certainly go out of my way to have Barbagello Service my Citroen (they are a factory dealer!). Honest service Manager Joe/Lenny! Very helpful. Even more so no appreciate that going to a factory dealer will more than likely save you money. And I don't have a mechanic learning about my car at $100 per hour! Car was also clean and detailed free of charge as well. Like new Honest, Price, Workmanship and attention to detail.. even fixed a few niggles with the car that annoyed me as well |

Harvey Norman Retail Stores - Furniture $12,000 Dining Table Fiasco – Back in June, I succumbed to my wife's desire for a brand new dining room table and chairs from Harvey Norman - Joondalup. It was placed at my front door by deliveries on… afternoon in July out in the weather. Table was disassembled - with no bolts, screws. Complained to Joondalup Harvey Norman Furniture Manager who then agreed to send someone around to assemble it for $100.00 Once assembled discovered the table was warped. Have to wait 3 months for a replacement. 3 months came and gone, seems our replacement had been "sold" to someone else. So, we wait another 3 months, only to find our table was not in that shipment afterall. So we wait another 2 months. Tablle specs have changed and now can fit our chairs underneath the table. Supports instead of 1610mm found to be now 1400mm. Our tough luck sorry! Also, price has gone down by $2000! Harvey Norman Joondalup accused the Manufacturer of being near backruptcy so hence the issues. Went direct to the manufacturer (local) business looks OK, includes import business as well. Manufacturer/Importer to replace entire suite including buffet, entertainment unit, coffee table and console table, plus new chairs with a locally made (much more expensive) product. Harvey Norman Joondalup Store found to be highly deceptive in their conduct, economical with the truth and could lie straight in bed from Management down. I suspect they must spend more time in Consumer Affairs than running their business. Not the first time we have had issues with this store and will never shop Harvey Norman anywhere again. They also screw the suppliers as well so they can't adequately support customers! Lesson learnt here. Try and deal direct with the local manufacturer/importer if you can. These guys really have a stake in your happiness and also employ craftsmen who will trip over themselves to help because they have a personal stake you your satisfaction. Consider total cost of ownership of the piece you are buying. We ended up with suite of furniture we will now own for at least 50 years! Cheap furniture has typically a high cost of ownership, especially if the retailer does not support the purchaser! (at any price) Can't think of why I would go there again, Management and staff deceptive, can't lie staight in bed |

Qantas Always nice to come home to – Fair to say I am a very frequent traveller in mostly Economy Class around Austalia. Service has always been casual, confident and relaxing. Especially when joiing them from… O'Seas carriers. Always have gone out of their way to assist if any issues, such as me being late on a heavy discounted fare, and rescheduled to accomodate. Talk nicely to them, explain your problem, ask for their help and they will move mountains for you. Mind you I have seen people demand and cop a tough lashing.. Price/Value and connections are important to me. Inside Australia QF is the way to go. INTERNATIONAL - If travelling East you can't beat QF to the US. SYD-DFW, or SYD-LAX, SYD-JFK, transfers are so much easier on the US side of the pacific. NOTE: If you can fly AA you dont have to move out of the Terminal in LAX off one plan/ clear customs/immigration then move your body within the same terminal. No need to step outside and walk up to the others (400- 900 metres walk) never mind the queques. IN LAX stay in the Admiral's Lounge and enjoy seeing the Flying Kangaroos on each tail come in till yours arrives. Food and Beverages are pretty good in all QF and AA lounges. Cabins, Crew, Comfort, Connections (4C's) None I can think of that hasn't been fixed. |

Singapore Airlines SQ great way to fly in Asia ex PERTH – SQ is one of my first choices out of Perth for the Asia Pacific travel. PER is lucky to have 4 or so flights each day to SIN so it's a bit like catching a bus with great… service. Being a regular, most of the crews are pretty familar with requirements, always friendly. If flying SQ around asia/US/EUR then usually everything goes well without a hitch with minimal interferance on the ground. Cabin Crew and Accomodation is probably second to none, although CX was also pretty good in the 90's and 00's as well. But with the A380 SQ now has the edge. The SQ Terminal is perfect for SQ travellers. (kind silly if you dont travel with them, life is made so easy).. Shopping, day trips to SIN, cinema in house as well as reasonable priced food on the "non-airside".. means you have to enter SIN then reenter. (No big deal and takes only 5 mins at worst)... I always tell immigration, "I am stepping out to have a meal at Burger King it cheaper outside than inside" - Always gets a smile. Plus I am back within 90 minutes.... Back to SQ - Economy Class consistently good. Though I have been annoyed with Business Class at times, simply because I occassionally get bumped at the last minute, due to higher Kris Flyers boarding than me. It an Asian thing, but you are judged on loyalty and milage... Though I fly each fortnight with SQ... Its low miles on the PER-SIN-CGK route so hence I dont build up the points like many regulars. Nevertheless, Business Class and First Upgrades esp A380 are excellent for long haul 10 hr plus travel stints. Thanks again SQ Clean, Courteous, Cabins, Food excellent (all classes) Have yet to be really find to much wrong so not worth putting down really |

Malaysia Airlines Perth - Amsterdam - Stavager - Amsterdam – I do this trip 3-4 times a year depending on work. Travelling ex Perth as a Business Traveller (not always in Business Class) to Amsterdam then across to Norway's West Coast… using Braathen SAFE. MH is a fairly well priced airline when economics dictate price. Economy is OK on the PER to KL run. Leaves mid afternoon arrive early evening to connect to another flight to AMS. Short enough transit to move around, grab a light meal for the long haul ahead. Economy KL -> AMS a long 12+ hours, most crews are OK. Have had some poor service buy 9/10 times as pleasant as can be. Arrives very early into AMS with about a 3 hour connection. SKIPOL is very efficent so time goes slow at times. But plenty to occupy yourself with within SKIPOL airport. Has a great coffee shop near the KLM City Hopper lounges... Consisitent service, Routing is good for Scandinavian Countries Cabin are not so clean, Seating is tight in economy, NO FREQUENT FLYERS usable for me in OZ eg (One world, or Star Alliance) |
