Hi I have a away 46inc 117cm full hd led LCD model LE4603-05 I can get some chenals with pic and sound but then on others it's a black screen with sound and a box floating around screen with invalid format how would I fix this problem would anyone now please

I have fed my AWA TV audio outputs into a Sony CFS-W402 radio cassette recorder to enhance the high frequencies. However, when I turn the TV volume up and down it does not control the volume coming out of the Sony speakers. Is this how the audio output should respond?
