Hi all, I've been reading some really helpful comments on here, thank you. Do you know if the stock exhaust from a boulevard m109r will fit a stock 2010 C50?

bobb
bobb

it wont fit to standard exhaust but you can make anything fit anything its jus the costs involved the M50 is only a small motor compared to 109R why do this the pipe is nearly double size ?? 109R is 1800 cc M50 is 800cc Not a real smart way to Go ! don't do this please

Thanks for the response. My current exhausts have some road rash that I want to change and saw some 09r exhaust for a decent price so thought I better ask before purchasing. Doesn't seem like I'll be doing that now.

I have a 2013 Suzuki M50 boulevard. The other day on the freeway I experienced a loud noise coming from the engine and it seized up immediately. Is anybody else had this problem and what did you do to fix it?

Ninja500
Ninja500

I couldn't tell you exactly what it is with out looking at it but it sounds like your pistons in your motor locked up. Do you do an oil change on it regularly? Did you have the correct oil weight and oil level? Also do you change your oil on your gear box? It's hard to tell but rebuilding a new engine won't be cheap and not always guaranteed to work the same ever again.

I have a 2009 M50 with 6,000 miles. There is a "FI" Fuel Injection light on the dash. It has came on recently three times and the bike immediately quit. I pull off to the side, turn the key off and back on. Starts right up and may be fine for two weeks. May do it again in 3 miles?

Why would the clutch lock up?

I would say that is a question for a qualitied mechanic

That has never happened to me before...

Maybe you just have a bad clutch.

I have a 2014 Suzuki M50 and cannot find aftermarket pipes. Cobra tells me the Streetrod Slashdown pipes will fit 2009 M50 but they are not sure about 2014. Anyone have info on this?

Ninja500
Ninja500

I own a 2007 suzuki boulevard m50 800cc. All i did is debaffle the pipes. And it sounds alot better. There are youtube videos on how to debaffle the exhaust. Its easy, saves money and sounds better.

Drill four 12 mm holes in a cross pattern on each muffler back plate, put each hole about half way between the centre pipe and the outside diameter of the muffler equally around the back plate. That produces a louder, more bass exhaust note without being to raucous. Saves hole sawing into the back plate as well and they're not too noticeable.

Yup done this. Says awesome. Not overly loud but just a lovely deep throb. No negative affect on performance

I'm a re-entry rider, having not even sat on a motorcycle in 33 years. I got a great deal back in Dec. '15 on a 2013 Suzuki m50 with 1 mile on the odometer ($5000, incl. a cheap helmet that I've since replaced). I love it, but rides over 50 miles wear me out and I don't know why. I'm not stiff or sore when I get off it, but I have to sleep. I never had that problem on my 550 Honda, and I could go 400 miles on it a day, with rests every 150 miles (the seat was like sitting on a rail). Is it just because I'm old(er)? I'm 62.

For me I use my bike primarily for commuting (70-85mph) with an occasional longer ride. I won't ride with out full gear (full helmet) if I plan to travel faster than 50-mph. My jacket is a mesh (pulled out liner) with full pads. That keeps me cool and keeps the wind off me. They have those cold packs (you freeze) for your neck. Other than that take some fish oil pills or take a nap before you ride :) Joking aside, just be comfortable. The M50's sweet spot is 45-65mph. Faster than that, I'm still looking for another gear (even after 10 months of ownership). Wanting 1 more gear aside, I love my bike. Now eye balling the m109.

Giltron

I had the same problem with the seat but after I did some researche I found that most seats from new take a little while to wear in. The foam padding settles down and mounds to you and also becomes a little softer.

You can alway modify the seat if you find a decent repairer.

Hi there, my guess is that age has to do with it. These bikes are quite comfy. I have to admit that longer rides wear me out these days more than in the past and I am only 45.

Dirt Road

OK. That helps. For a minute, I thought I wasn't an Aussie any more and thought I had to go back to bein' half-Scouse.

You are not old. Concentration wears us all out. Come to Auckland New Zealand and I`ll show you old. Some of the guys in the Harley club look quite young until they remove their helmets, they almost need walkers to get into the cafe. I`m 53 and can’t sit too long on a sports bike this is because I haven’t been on one bike for so long. I have a cruiser and find it comfortable if you keep up the riding. Also do a few lower back exercises when you are free. Get a lower back-rest put on your seat. Just keep riding, if you don’t use it you will lose it.

I am 5ft 7" 160lbs. Would this bike be good size or to big for me? I currently have a Kawasaki ninja ex500 and ride it with no trouble what so ever.

Giltron
Giltron

I am 260 lbs and yes the bike goes well and has more then enough power then needed.

Thorsten
Thorsten

Hi there, I am the same height as you and can comfortably bend my knees on it when standing. The weight is not to bad considering its low centre of gravity and you shouls have no problem.

KiwiSteve55
KiwiSteve55

I'm 5' 8" and I can flat foot it when seated on my M50, which makes me very confident. I'm a bit heavier than you, 100 kg (that's about 220 lb), but you won't have any problems moving or handling an M50 even though you're just 160 lbs. For someone our height the M50 is a great bike.

G'day all, this is my first post here, overall I'm very happy with my '09 M50Z, it has taken me across the Nullabor from Perth to Sydney in comfort. I would like to ask has anyone had issues with the shaft drive loosing it's grease and failing and what the life expectancy for this part should be, this is the second replacement on a bike that had done 35,000 km. Cheers!

Thorsten
Thorsten

That is terrible. I know of a bike with more than 80000km on it and it had no issues at all. This was a C50t which should run the same gear.

ASH959
ASH959

Yes agree, failed exactly the same way, I was not pushing it, I don't do wheelies on it, I was just cruising at about 110-130 and it just lost all acceleration,no warning, no gears but stayed running. It chewed through at the rear and was bone dry and rusty. I hope 3's the charm

brewsterly
brewsterly

2nd failure sounds like a faulty replacement job then perhaps lack of service. The previous shaft early failure would be lack of maintenance, the maintenance is far less frequent and far less expensive than a chain so there is no excuses for the lack of. I carefully grease the the gear every rear tyre change and change the oil every engine oil change, to friggin' easy.

I am trying to sell my 2012 Suzuki Boulevard M50, blue, with a windshield, saddlebag mounts (not the saddlebags), and an optional cowl for the back seat. It was 14,000 Km on it and the back tire is new. How much could I ask for when I am selling it?

Thorsten
Thorsten

Hi mate, sorry couldn't tell you the price they are going for, you will have to check on bikesales or similar sites. Keep in mind that this particular bike falls very quickly in value from new.
