If you could find another brand go for it – Over the past two years I purchased two Aroma Fresh (Model BCM 120) coffee makers. It is true this one is inexpensive ($45 from Myer), but if you could find an other brand, go for it. 1. Brewing is good (no plastic taste in the first one) 2. Carafe heater is excellent 1. Poor carafe quality. 2. Expensive carafe replacement (roughly $27 without postage, so it is probably better to buy a new one) 3. Poor Breville customer service. In detail: The carafe broke in both machines. The first one I thought it was my mistake that it touched the sink while I was washing it. The second carafe, however, broke 'in my hands' without any kind of pressure after less than a month of using it (2-4 cups a day). And Breville refused to accept that it is faulty, although I wanted to send them a digital photograph of where it broke! The carafe could be actually a great source of profit for them since I costs roughly 75 percent of the price of a new machine.
