Not as happy with this one as I had hoped to be – We had previously purchased a Dyson handheld vacuum cleaner so when upgrading our main vacuum we decided to stick with Dyson.
Overall I am happy with it, but there are things about it that do annoy me.
I love the fact that it is bagless. It is relatively easy to empty although sometimes fluff and pet hair get stuck between the filter and the sides and I have to smack the sides or use a stick to get it out.
The turbo head is amazing on carpet, and brilliant at getting pale pet fur off the rugs.
However, I don't like the fact that you can't use the same head on all floor surfaces, as you could with our previous Miele vacuum cleaner. I also find that the head for smooth floors seems to be okay for picking up dust and fluff, but not so great at sucking up heavier things like little bits of gravel or bark tracked in from the garden. I prefer our handheld Dyson for hard surfaces any day.
The cord is also relatively short.
I have to say that in general I prefer our old Miele, but like the Dyson due to it being bagless. Great turbo head for carpet. Love that it is bagless. Not happy with the head for hard floors. Annoying to have to swap heads between floor surfaces.
Hi Taffetacat, Thank you for reviewing your Dyson. Sorry to hear you aren't happy with the hard floor tool, we would like to assist. Please email your details through to askdyson@dyson.com.au and we will be in touch.
Best wishes,
Shan

You can use the turbo head on tiles, just press the button to stop the head spinning. The only surface you can't use it on is wood, but if you have wood and are using the handheld on it you'll be fine to use the bigger vacuum
