3.6Keeps my floors spotless with next to no effort – Having owned my red roboking for 2 months, I have been using it every day and it has made my life so much more easier freeing up alot of time. Floorcare has never been simplier. First thing I noticed is this bot likes to voice most things from starting a clean to returning to base to getting stuck. Its a pleasant female voice.
I loved mine so much I ended up getting one for mothers day - which is a newer improved 6170 model.
Navigation & Performance:
It does a admirable job navigating my 4 bedroom house.
Ive had to clear up some clutter to make it robot friendly (namely tucking away things that could get caught in the rotating brush like phone charger cables etc and I have a coffee table that is exactly the right height for it to get wedged under, fixed with some furniture savers.)
I normally use zigzag mode, which is the fastest and most efficent vacuuming mode-basically it does back and forth lines as though its mowing the lawn and it leaves my carpets looking like a pro footy field before a game.
The pickup rate on both carpet and tile is very good surprisingly, as I didnt know what to expect from such a quiet robot. Carpets are always fresh and theres no longer things sticking to my feet walking on the tile. Edging on my tiles are always spotless.
My flooring is tile in all areas except in the bedrooms which is carpet.
My only two complaints here is that it has trouble with raised surfaces over 1cm, which is quite low, and entry to the main bathroom is about 1.5-2cm. This may be a good thing though as I dont want it to frequent areas which may have puddles of water. I could permanently fix this with a piece of wood layed out on the entry to space out the height but prefer to simply take the roboking in there myself and lock it in for a clean.
I also have a rug in the living room, which is pretty much a piece of standard carpet, and it often has trouble mounting it. However, when it does eventually get onto it, usually from a different side, it will always vacuum everywhere and not miss a spot.
The other complaint is my tiles are black, and it has trouble dismounting my rug onto it, i believe it detects it as a drop off, but again, when it does eventually get onto the tile it vacuums everywhere and not miss a spot.
It has difficultly seeing some of the thinner objects like chair and table legs, and often bang right into it, back away tiny bit (sometimes spin around to get a better picture), and work around it and continue its line. I noticed that when it approaches at the right angle itll see it.
During runs it may get things caught up in its brush or get stuck, and itll play a error melody with "please check the wheels" or "please check the brush"
Docking is usually faultless, at times where the mapping system works right it heads straight to it from opposite side of house without as much as a blink, and other times after getting lost during a run itll follow a wall around the house til it gets there. I have the dock in 1 side of the house and often itll be the latter with clutter and runs out of juice trying to make it back. If i positioned the dock in the middle of the house somewhere it should never have any more problems. (but i like it better where it is in the lounge :P)
Maintenance:
It comes with a hepa10 filtration and theres also a spare in the box) and i noticed since the two months that i bought it my chronic morning cough has subdued to something more mild. If theres daily vacuuming it can be really good for you and others. Its easily detachable from the dustbin along with a spongefoam prefilter.
The dustbin is really easy to lift out and doesnt spill, and emptying is a breeze.
Once a week ill feel like i should clean the brush out, there is a long haired person in the house and her hair does end up getting wund around the brushes. Although i think i could go for 2-3 weeks without cleaning it easily.
Cleaning the sensors about once a month involves wiping down with a microfibre cloth and a dust off with the included tiny brush. Hepa filter, systematic navigation, li ion batteries, side sweeping, local service and support Expensive, difficulty climbing rugs, could have better suction. Bangs into chair legs too often,
