Good – a excellent laptop until problems started. let down by expensive parts. hard disk is completely sealed making it hard to remove it. very good looks, good wlan, very sleek design had to replace cd drive, hard disk complaints started now.. extremely expensive parts and no proper support from sony corp. disappointed about the service from sony.

Good – I travel with my Z1 to work everyday. With over 4 hours of battery time, I can work on the train, in coffee shop and still have power to go. The built in wireless is a dream and the integrated antennae are very sensitive. The Z1 comes in the best looking case, even compared to titanium i-books. The screen is bright clear and has 8 levels of brightness. Of course, as a SONY it has firewire and memory stick so you can connect ot all your other SONY gear. I also love the latchless lid, as nobody will struggle to open it. The only thing I can say bad about it is that it is a touch expensive. Did I mention it looks fantastic? Light

Stylish

Powerful

Battery Life Expensive

Terrible – The laptop components are such poor quality that it gives nothing but grief. When components start to fail, you then find out from suppliers that there is a high expectation that hard drives and dvd drives on this computer will not last 18 months. I now carry a back up drive at all times and a spare dvd because the computer cannot be relied on size, keyboard, wireless quality is extremely poor. Now 15 months old and had to replace hard drive and DVD drive. Motherboard has now gone on the blink. Response from Sony very poor. Parts and service horrifically expensive. Check out discussion sites on web before even considering!

Good – I only use if for assignments, light work and personal use. I haven't put the laptop under much strain with games - I dont think it could handle most of the lastest games. Light and comfortable to use. I really like the software that Vaio add to Windows - its much more user friendly. Haven't found anything yet!
