Handy little device – I love my Dell Inspiron Mini. It's convenient, easy to carry around as it's very light. Even though it's a notebook it's very easy to type on and there is really nothing else that I would want from it. It's perfect for me and is a great product Convenient, lightweight, good battery power
good value for money – After using my Dell for over 12 month I have to agree, that this is a good product. In my opinion it was designed to act as a very portable netbook to cover your needs for email and simple work tasks on the go. And that is exacty what it is doing perfectly. The size to weight ratio makes it very portable and a very handy device on the airport, train or car.
The size of the keyboard is only marginally smaller and its very eaasy to get used to that.
I am using Ubunto on this netbook and the booting time is amazingly fast.
The battery was good for over 4 hours at the very beginning but depleted after a few month until it broke down completely and needed replacement. Even considering the acceptable price range of this product, the battery was a disappointment and cased lots of frustration.
The Dell will not replace your full size laptop as it is easily overstrained with software that asks for a bit more system requirements.
Large Excel Sheets are its limits. good price and reliable netbook disappointing battery power
a good reliable laptop on the go – Using my dell for over a year I had enough time to made up my mind if I like it or not. From the very beginning I was very happy with the size and weight and got used to the slightly smaller keyboard. I use it mainly for traveling and thats exactly what it is made for. A good computer to keep up with your emails, browse the web and do the one or other urgent work calculations/reports.
I changed it to run Ubuntu which improved the time to boot significantly.
Based on its specification it is not ideal for larger projects and graphical work is pushing it easily to its limit.
But as explained, in my opinion it is not made for that kind of work in the first place.
A bit disappointing was the durability of its batteries.
It started with a good 4 hours but decreased rapidly within the first 4 to 6 weeks.
Overall a nice little laptop on the go. Nice large keyboard for its size and weight The batteries lost lots of capacity during the first few weeks
Good – I bought this to replace my laptop as I wanted something more lightweight and easy to maneouver (something that I could use at places other than a desk) and for this purpose this is a great little machine. This is a very light machine with a small screen which makes it exremely easy to transport. It has plenty of memory to store movies, music etc on and enough oomph to play them. It has a SD card slot, which I use on a daily basis, and that makes transferring media incredibly easy. It finds and connects to networks easy, and it is affordable enough to own just for variety! It comes with a very limited range of programs. The webcam is quite dark and really needs to be used in great (i.e. daylight) lighting. There are times when you want to use a CD drive for something and then realise you can't, which is frustrating. Also, the sound output is not great, as you would expect.
