Excellent for the price very reliable – Bought used for $200 about 8yrs ago. Served us reliably used daily. Home repair after spin wobble. Too expensive to replace with a new ASKO. buying a cheap Kogan next Show details

In favour of Asko – Concerned about this review. I've had my Asko 9.5 years had an inlet valve and two heating elements replaced only in that time. Saved me loads in water and electricity. I'm on a bore water pump as rural. I regularly cleaned the machine for scale and scum. The machine always washed clothes well and left them remarkably damp not wet. Very little… Read more

vibration and sounded like a jet taking off when it spins but not overly loud. Just stopped working again now, I'm assuming it's an inlet valve again. But contemplating upsizing to the 10kg. I hope the ASKO repairer can fix your machine as I have been so happy with mine and would not consider any other. Good luck

Rust, rust, rust – Have had our machine for almost 9 years. Recommended by a friend. It has had rust falling out since day one. Now will not work and the machine is crumbling. Kept inside and looked after. Very disappointed. Only two in our household so loads are small. Will not buy another. Had a service person out early on who gave some pointers and was… Read more

surprised to see rust then less than 6 months after purchase. Very expensive so not good value for money.

Still going strong - Died after 10.5 years service – We bought the Asko W6231 over 8 years ago, and to date, have never had a problem that needs a service call or any issues under warranty. We bought it because we were replacing our old Simpson machine that had served well for 20 years also without a problem, but needed a front loader for space, and as the logo says, "Built to Last" and that's what… Read more

I look for in an appliance. The only issue I've had, is it chews up my bras sometimes, even in a lingerie bag, I've lost 3 in 8 years, but maybe it's been the way I've packed it.

Would buy again.

Edit: March 6th, 2016

3 weeks ago, the Asko died. The motor just stopped. My enquiries with Asko for a repairman to service, with call out fee, plus replacement parts, wasn't the issue. I can only get someone to service my machine Mon-Fri, which meant I would be without my washer for 2 weeks when I can be home on a weekday.

My quickest/most convenient solution was to replace the Asko, which didn't last as long as I thought it would, given the price I paid, and the company slogan "built to last".

I had to run out on late night trading and buy a new washer, and no I didn't re-invest in an Asko, I purchased an LG which arrived 2 days later fully installed and they hauled away the Asko.

Can't say I would invest a lot of $ on a promise of built to last.

As a retailer worker, who now has to work Boxing Day and every other Public Holiday because that's what the public wants. I'm amazed I can't get my washer fixed on a Saturday morning. Trouble free Doesn't have a lint filter

Have been very happy with my machine – Have had my Asko for 7 years and haven't had any real problems. Very water efficient. It is noisy when filling and the cycles do take some time. The clothes clean well and the spin cycle takes out a lot of the water but you do need to reduce the spin for towels and anything that you don't want too creased. The door open button is next to the start… Read more

button and can be annoying when you press the wrong one as you need to put it through the drain cycle to reopen the door. We haven't had to have it serviced at all. It is steady on spin, we have it in a cabinet that has very little space and it has never moved unlike other machines we have had that bounce around the room. Water efficient, reliable Noisy filling, start button next to open door button,

Terrible – For the money would have expected for it to have lasted longer. Good performance, thought towels were rather rough but I suspect that was my fault for not reducing the speed of the spin. Good washing machine cant complain about the quality of the washing. It broke down after 3 1/2 years.

OK – I'm quite happy with this Asko and would buy another Asko washing machine. I've read bad submissions from others but I cannot complain about the quality. Unlike others experiences, I've has mine since 2003 and had NO problems - until now, but after 8 years, I'm not complaining. The machine has worked faultlessly and I have no issues. The start… Read more

button is too close to the door open button. No time remaining indicator. Can be noisy on filling but not overly problematic.

Terrible – On their website ASKO say their products are built to last. Definately not the case in my opinion. NOT HAPPY! Like the options of 5 hour time delay to wash overnight and different options like gentle, hand wash, heavy wash etc We've had this machine about 5 years and 6 weeks ago had to replace the motor. Rusted due to a broken hose. Cost $580.… Read more

It's just broken down again. V dissapointed. Also very noisy when filling with water. I thought at the time I was buying a quality brand but now would definately not buy any ASKO product again. Wish I'd read this site before I purchased my machine.

Bad – We bought this machine about four years ago and it's needed to be repaired about once every year. The repairs have been very expensive with a control board costing us $400 plus labour to install it the repair bill came to nearly $500, you could almost buy another machine for that money! The machine has just failed again and I've had a gutful of… Read more

paying for repairs so it will be going to the tip less than five years old. All this grief when we paid over $1200 dollars for the machine! When the machine was working it did a reasonable job but I don't think it got the clothes as clean as our old Simpson. Funnily enough, we have an Asko dishwasher too that's had numerous vsits from the repair man. We won't be rushing to buy any more of their products I can tell you! Very efficient regarding water usage. Very noisy when water is being dispensed into the drum. Very expensive repairs. Repairs required too frequently. Clothes nowhere near as clean as with our old Simpson top loader.

Excellent – Great!!! With better than excellent service history. This machine was sold to us at cost price because our old Asko machine (10yrs old) failed and was not cost effective to repair, although they did have the necessary parts. It's quite; uses minimal water, power and detergent and generally washes very well. When washing large items like sheets… Read more

they do not rinse well with collections of detritus in the creases where it spins. It's as though the sheets filter the dirt, lint etc and don't let it rinse away.

No time remaining indicator.

Good – The clothes are washed efficiently without damage like they used to in the top loader and twin tubs. We do about ten loads per week. It ahndles delicates to heavy soil really well. This machine is the best we have come across. We bargained hard and got a five year warranty included in a relatively cheap price. We are very happy with our… Read more

purchase. This machine works very effectively using half the recommended amount of detergent. So it's very cost effective. The wash always comes out clean. The high speed spin options mean you can get things almost dry before hanging them out or using the dryer. Durable construction and quiet operation. We bought the model with the extra door that covers the front of the machine. We haven't had any problems at all since we bought it about 2 years ago. There is no wash time remaining indicator so it's hard to know where the cycle is up to.
