Sony STRDE695

OK – I was very happy with the performance of my STRDE695 until it died,as wired as that sounds.I dont know of other STRDE695's life spans but I got 6 years of service from mine.Maybe it was the compact size that was its undoing,I never placed the unit inside of a cabnet and the dust inside was minimal but it was the heat that got it in the end.It never mised a beat,but now it just come up protect on the screen,indicating a speaker wire short circut but what really happened was two of the channels failed internaly. Great power and size for the price,very adjustable parmeters for all channels,great input versability,remote can control all sony equipment no powered sub output,no active rear center channel,excessive turn on delay,runs quite hot even at low volume

Good – Very nice unit with great sound output. Easy component video connection for 2 video untits. Heaps of Optical audio support. A good buy at AU$650.00 Easy to use. Good connection capacity. Great crystal clear sound. Very configurable. Very hard to get setup help, as no ne seems to know what it's capable of, though they think they do. No 6.1 Dolby Speaker system available yet. Needs a powered [active] Surround Back speaker.
