Panasonic X400 (2005)

Good – Ok, why the hell am I giving this a 4? Well, it's about aesthetics vs functionality and it depends on what's most important to you. The features of the phone drive me nuts but it is simply a pleasure to look at. It's a victory for the design team but I'm considering the possibility that Panasonic hired monkeys for the phone's technical aspects. Its size, price and most of all, its stunning looks. There isn't a better looking phone on the market - as long as you have the black one. The battery is extremely weak - lasts about two days. The camera is very basic and sending a message can take a while because of the tiny buttons. The default settings are absurd - i.e it goes to MMS and not SMS when you want to send a message. The tones are pathetic - I have mine on silent because it doesn't have a basic ringing sound.

Terrible – The phone definitely has the goods in the looks department. It is small, shiny and black. The flip can be opperated with the touch of a button on the side, and the screen has good colour and brightness. My first X400 kept turning itself off after about 2 weeks. I sent it back and 4 weeks later it came back, no fault found. It immediately started turning off again. I sent it away, and a further 6 weeks later got issued a new phone. The current model has been fine up until now - touch wood. However given my experience with the first model, I will replace it as soon as the contract expires. There are much better phones out there. Excellent – Fantastic phone all up, stylish, compact and easy to use, you don't ahve to be a rocket scientist to figure out how to use it. It is such a beautiful looking phone, the buttons are very easy to use, especially for females who have long nails and it is such a great price for what i got it for!! am totally happy with it. The only thing i would say is wrong with it is that it takes along time to send an mms, but that might be with all phone. Other than that it is a fantastic phone.
