Terrible – will not touch Navman again - almost new and it has stuffed me up and have spent lots of time looking for a charger. Very helpful and has stopped the nightmare of travelling in Sydney. Same as person before me - The car charger has suddenly become faulty and unable to get a charger via ebay or none of the Navman sellers stock it. Seems a design fault the car charger.
Looking at getting a tom-tom as desperate as going interestate this friday.
What a bummer !
Excellent – A fantastic tool for the professional driver and those who are not sure where they are going. The unit is extremely accurate and locks on to satellites fast. Having the unit give you directions really takes the pressure off the driver and the poor wife. A simple to use effective way to get around in your car. The many features are really useful rather than just being gadgety. The voice prompt is clear and concise, it even warns you when you need to change lanes on major freeways to get off the selected exit. The maps load really quickly and it has a fail safe system that recalculates the route if you miss the turn.
The most impressive feature is the after sales service, Navman are really keen to please and constantly update the software, use the USB cable provided and it never goes out of date. Map software upgrades are not cheap at approx $500 AU, but this does include the whole of Australia!
Terrible – DONT do it to yourself, new machines are ready to go out of the box. Try Tom Tom or Garmin!!! Pros, the thing is that big you at least if someone tries to mug you you could beat them off with it. Worked quite well for the first 6 months then had nothing but trouble with it. In car charger stuffed up, a nightmare to get a replacement. Then the thing wouldnt load up the software properly when I tried to restart it 2 weeks later. Customer service (if thats what you call it) quoted me $200 to fix it as this particular fault meant giving me a replacement unit as there was no fix. I tried to format and reload the maps with no luck. Total waste of money. Forget the name, thats all Navman is. Map updates cost a fortune. Bought a Garmin and cut my losses. It works well.
