Totally disappointed – For all you disgruntled nicabate lozenge users - please try Herron nicaway mini lozenges - they are exactly like the old formula nicabate lozenges and can be purchased from Coles or woolies. As for nicabate lozenges - The company has self sabotaged their product. Lozenge packaging is a nightmare to open. Lozenges dissolve too fast and turn into a mushy paste in less than 5 minutes. I will never buy again Show details

Nicabate Minis New Formula – The new Nicabate Minis 4mgs formula is disgusting, the taste is awful and they dissolve way too fast. I got very sick by them, still are it’s been over 2months now. I’ve been on the old formula for 4 years with no issues. I have emailed Nicabate direct with all my side effects I got with the new formula. They either bring back the old formula or… Read more

discontinue this product. Why change a product that was working in the first place when it stopped so many people from smoking for years???

Nicabate Mini 2mg and 4mg recipe change complaint – I've been a long-time user of the Nicabate mini and I found the original recipe to be the best way to stop smoking, NOT nicotine. There are two types of nicotine lozenges on the market in Australia; there are the Nicabate Minis and Nicorette Drops which are 25% cheaper. Up until the recipe change Nicabate recipe change I choose the minis as they… Read more

actually dissolved in the mouth over time and the Nicorretes turned gluggy like toothpaste and created a horrible sweet goo that was very off putting. Unfortunately Nicabate minis have now changed to a similar recipe which is disappointing. My initial reaction is: I'm addicted to nicotine (probably more so after taking lozenges) so why pay 25% more, as as a result, in the interim I'll change to Nicobate. Maybe I'll start smoking again as both brands deliver a gooey none dissolved toothpaste texture when left in the mouth as directed which is worse than the cigarette taste ever was. I reached out to Nicabate to give my feedback and to see if I could buy old stock. To my surprise they responded, however, they confirmed they won't be changing the recipe back to dissolving tablets and they have had insufficient feedback stating the lozenges no longer dissolve like that used to. Guys of you're looking to stop smoking I recommend looking at other options as Lozenges are no longer a viable solution in my view. If you'd like to email Nicabate with your feedback, here is the email address. Haleon ANZ <mystory.au@haleon.com>

Absolute perfect for me – I finally decided to give up smoking because the cost was just too much burden on the family budget. I knew I was going to have a hard time because I had been a smoker for 43 years, and I smoked a roll your own pouch tobacco which was considered the strongest available. I found that the nicabate 4mg mini lozenges were great, quenched my desire… Read more

for nicotine, but more importantly the bitter minty flavour allowed a real kick to the lungs when I breathed in, giving me that feeling closest to tobacco, and that was my biggest craving. I tried other brand minty lozenges but while they had a sweeter minty taste, and satisfied the nicotine craving; they didn't satisfy that kick to the lungs and I almost went back to smoking. Now I am back on the Nicabate and I am doing it easy. They satisfy both my cravings associated with tobacco. Getting used to the bitter minty flavour

I hate mint – I have been using nicabates. But can not buy lozenges now without mint! I hate mint. I have tried all the other brands but the ones I have found that worked were the mintless4's larger lozenge'. Now I can't get them. Started smoking again! I want 2 have the choice again! I just found them so helpful 2 me. I am not sure what 2 do now that they r gone.  Show 2 replies

Waste of money now – I had been using Nicabates for a couple of years, the new style is a dreadful waste of money. They're much smaller, much less effective, dissolve faster, and taste horrible, and the timing seems to coincide with the crackdown on vaping.

New formula is disgusting – The new formula is horrible. Not worth the money. The old formula was much much better. I think they have changed the formula because it may be cheaper to produce and still sell it for the same money. Show details

The supposedly new nicabate mini lozenges – I would like to review this product as I have been using this product for several years and have not smoked. The new formulation that you buy now are not only substandard to the original product but also contain new ingredients and from my google search one of those ingredients is considered a prescription product which is mannitol. I have been in… Read more

contact with the company to ask about this as the new formulation tastes just like a sweet lollie. That’s great if you like your nicabates so sweet you can hardly tolerate it but it compares with nicorette lozenges which tastes exactly the same only cheaper. Not to my surprise GSK advised it is a filler product used in many non smoking aides. Why is it considered as a prescription drug? There are obvious reasons as to why people prefer nicabates to nicorette lozenges and that one factor could be is it’s sacarine or artificial taste of sweetness that does not appeal to many people. I would also like to add the texture and structure of the new formulation becomes soft and gooey in your mouth. You are not meant to chew these products your meant to rest them in your mouth which was good for the older formulation as they held their structure as a lozenge. As I said to GSK I will say again, it is almost like GSK have taken a perfectly good product and then made it worse. Why? Is it some new pr management that need to look like they are doing their jobs. Because they obviously do not use or purchase these products! So I guess in my review I will not be purchasing the ‘New Formulation’. It sucks, just not in a good way. So I shall buy the cheaper brand of nicorettes that taste exactly the same.

Nicabate Mini’s new taste and packaging – Long time user….until now. The new taste is a ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING . The packaging is almost impossible to open. Might as well switch to Nicorette, they don’t taste much better but at least they’re cheaper.

Disgusting new flavour and texture – Have been a long term user of mini lozenges. They have helped me stay off smokes for years. Nicabate must want us all to discontinue the lozenges as they have recently changed the flavour of the mint mini lozenges. The lozenges are now revolting tasting and dissolve in a matter of minutes instead of around 1 hour previously. Good job Nicabate, thanks for doing this as you have just lost a customer. Show details

They did work butt now? Update – Update. Same. They get stuck to the bottom of the strange shaped plastic tube. The taste is horrible now since the redo. They dissolve a lot quicker. Just should have changed the tube not the size of the pill and the taste. Might as well smoke again until a better option comes along. Why? Nicabate sell the product but do not respond to criticism. Just like a conniving tobacco company. Gutless company. Show details

Not smoking for last three years - can't get off lozenges – Stopped smoking 3 years ago after hypnotherapy and valium, now addicted to the 4mg lozenges - up to 20 a day. Certainly happy to live without cigarettes, but I get nasty, painful heart palpitations after 2 or three lozenges - and still can't stop. Show details

You cant even open the packaging – I decided to give this a go ( 4mg Nicorette gum ). It says "peel here". If you don't have long, sharp fingernails, you will sit there frustrated trying to open the package. The gum does work, but the frustration that comes with opening just one piece of gum is unbelievable. Show details

The only good thing is I am now cigarette free after 47years of smoking 50 a day vet expensive, addictive and I am now three years and still need these things. With out them I have awful panic attacks

Terrible – Would not recommend this product especially if you have stomach complaints, I personally found them to give me stomach upset and loads of burping. Price wise expensive and fowl tasting. would rather keep smoking nothing at all The taste was disgusting, it made me physically feel sick. They were expensive and I couldn't take them.

OK – Make sure you stick to the 6 month maximum limit recommended to be off the product if you're going to use them and be diligent about stepping down. I have now switched to gum... which I really dislike, but am at least down to 4 pieces of this and have hope for being 'nicotine' free in the near future! away, and also the need to be doing something with your mouth! They are very very addictive! If you don't keep a close eye on how many you're having you will likely increase your nicotine intake ie: I smoked 15 x 1 mg ciggies & (after 18 months on them!) was still using 15 x 2mg lozenges most days (double the nicotine ... though admittedly not the other bad effects of cigarettes. Also, just as expensive as smoking for me??

Excellent – am breathing much better, lozenges cost a lot less than smokes. i feel the lozenges are better than patches because if you have a patch on and feel like a smoke, there is nothing you can do about it, so you have more control with lozenges. they are better than the gum too, which gave me indegestion. much better than the patches which gave me… Read more

OK – I had some positive effects from trying these out. My sinuses felt clearer and I felt that I was breathing better and had more energy. to give up. Don't particularly like the taste, they are very strong. When I first started them I had a bit of a sore throat and although it went away it reoccurred. Don't really provide any financial inspiration to quit.

Bad – They stopped me from smoking and taking in all the additives real cigarettes have but they are just as addictive They got me off cigarettes after smoking 50 a day for 47 years. Good – I was addicted to lozenges for over 5 years and only recently I thought how ridiculous it was that I was still taking them. Good – Very, very good product. The key is not to chew it as one reviewer has said, you are supposed to leave it in the side of your mouth and move it to the other as it dissolves. This method of quitting allows you to feel more in control, when you feel like a cigarette you pop a lozenge and get the nicotine "hit", you just have to be careful that you… Read more

don't get hooked on the lozenges! I stayed on the 4mg for about 4 weeks, then dropped to 2mg for 2 or 3 weeks and have been off both for 2 weeks now. I had been a smoker for almost 40 years smoking a packet a day. Ease of use and availability. Felt in control of cravings. Chalky taste, sometimes tasted like indigestion tablet.

Excellent – The best option is to use a combination of both lozenges as well as patches. Lozenges only will result in a tired jaw and deter you from using it. Heavy smokers should start on a larger strength and progressively lower the dose. Keep in mind, it normally keeps 4-5 trials before you succesfully quit! Chew it when you have cravings. Works fast! It can be used in combination with the patches. It can cause jaw fatigue (that is, tired of chewing)
