Cheap, and it shows – Drum bearing failure. Pulled it apart and seems to be made with a non serviceable drum bearing. Don't bother as didn't last long. Needs a serviceable $2 bearing not a built in race, rubbish. Show details
Very poor durability!! – Dryer encountered issues after a relatively short period of very light, infrequent use. Seemingly an electrical manufacturing fault. Slow, mediocre drying performance prior to this also. Compounding the issue was the response from Simpson. eg. Staff initially demonstrated no knowledge of Australian Consumer Law and tried to charge me for… Read more
repair of their apparently faulty product.
We've bought several Simpson/Electrolux products in the past, but following this disappointing experience, never will again. Poor durability and quality.

Can't fault it after years of use – This is the 4kg version of the EZI Loader. There are no electronic menu systems, simply set the timer to 150 minutes and forget. Unfortunatly this means that there are no alarms when your drying is done (if it's done). The exhaust vent runs down to the bottom left of the unit and exits the front via a slotted vent cover. The vent cover can be… Read more
twisted 45 degrees either left or right so you can direct which way the exhaust air flows. If you look on the back of the unit directly opposite where the exhaust vent is on the front - there is a plastic cover. This cover can be removed and swapped with the slotted vent at the front so you can run the exhaust from the rear. There is also an optional connection where you can run a hose to the nearest window; although, I have never seen it purchased let alone used by anyone.
As my family grows bigger, so does the washing and the less the time I have to do it. The 4kg model is great for one or two people, but it's a little small for a family. We're looking at upgrading to a 7kg model in the near future.
Recommended.
Unexpectedly good – I bought 1 about 8 yrs ago or even longer. It's been going well no problem so far. Only recently that a repair needs to be done as my hsemate broke the timer as she had turned it anti-clockwise a few times in a row. Cost me about $50 to fix on my own, took me a few good hours to figure out how to change the timer and another hours to have it… Read more
replaced as the cover wouldn't shut/close properly. I didn't get technician for help as It'd have cost me about~$120/hr just labour alone just to have it looked at.
I guess the only con is its energy rating. But dryers are dryers. Very good price for the workmanship. I really didn't expect this when I decided to buy it.
I do hope they charge cheaper for servicing or labour so I can have it serviced. Never come across any problem for last 8 years or more. Cheap but very good workmanship. Hope they keep the quality up. Energy rating but I don't think it'd be that different compared to other brands or models. I've noticed it's been taking a tiny bit longer to dry lately but still acceptable having considered it's been running for about 8 years without any servicng done on it.
No more hanging out washing or ironing! – I used to have a combination washing machine and dryer. I never bothered with the dryer function becasue the clothes always ended up a wrinkled mess. When I changed to a top loader washer this year, I decided to look up the reviews for a dryer that would meet my needs as a 30-something single lady. The 4kg Simpson grabbed my attention for its… Read more
great value, low maintenance, efficiency.
I took the plunge and bought one, and I've been delighted ever since. It's gobbled up three loads a week, including smalls and the dog's huge blanket. Everything that comes out is ready to be folded and put away (in fairness, I don't wear shirts, but I now never iron jeans, jumpers, tops or dresses). And it's so efficient that it hasn't hit my electricity bill as I feared it might.
Love it!! Reliable, efficient, easy to use and clean, no maintenance problems, quiet, wrinkle-free clothes! I like to use "Fluffy" tumble dryer sheets - you have to put these in a mesh bag, or they get sucked into the dryer's filter

Our old one lived for over 15 years – Fantastic little dryer. We had ours for many, many years and it never skipped a beat. In the end, the belt had worn and wasn't spinning the barrel anymore. A large family of 8, we used ours a lot more than I would like to admit, we would most definitely buy another one in a heartbeat. Show details
Great – Simpson dryer, I have had it now for almost 3 years without having any problems , it does a very good job. I use it for all my cloth, durable and very easy to operate Show details
Great dryer – I bought this second hand, and have used it non stop without it missing a beat! Quite good on power considering, dries clothes evenly and it sits out on my verandah so it’s quite durable. Would definitely get a Simpson again. Not too big and bulky or heavy either. Easy to clean lint catcher too Show details
Negative reviews
Okay – I like this dryer but wouldn’t say I love it. It does the job it suppose to do but it takes a lot longer to dry clothes I found as it was with my old dryer. I like how big it is and can fit a fair amount of clothes in. Show details
A good dryer for daily usage – This is a good dryer for daily usage. It's not that expensive to buy, and have been used for a few years without any problem. If you are conscious about budget and not a heavy usage on dryer, highly recommend for this one. The only thing is energy rating is about average Show details
It works – Had it for 7 years now and it is going strong. Only really use it in winter. I put the timer on for 70 mins and the load comes out dry on hot. It is only a 4 kg and most of the time I believe I overload it but it still dries good but sometimes creases. UPDATE Oct 2018: Still goes but the timer is faulty doesn't always turn, but it was cheap but… Read more
good. UPDATE Aug 2019: Still Going and timer is still faulty, but the dryer is also too small, takes 2-3 loads to dry a load from my Simpson 8.5 kg, but otherwise it still dries the clothes well.

Excellent dryer – This dryer was one of the cheapest and i have found it to be great. Not noisy spacious and goes like a dream. Good looking dryer. Drys evenly which is a bonus Show details
Simple dyer, simply works – This is a simple but hardy design that has stood the test of time. My family had the exact same one in 80's beige growing up and it ran for nearly 20 years. I have already had over four years out of mine and expect it to keep going. They are easy to repair and simple to operate. Show details

Gets hot, dries fast – I like this dryer. It is smaller than many others and heats up quickly and gets quite hot to touch. It feels more efficient because it dries less volume and needs to heat less air. I only use it when I have to to keep costs down and I don't notice any big hit to the power bill. Its easy to use Show details
Still runs like new over five years old – This runs like clockwork even though its been hammered by the family. It usually gets used twice per load in winter because we have a lageish washer and this is only a 4KG dryer . It gets good and hot on high and finishes the job quickly. Its very simple and plain to look at, but I recommend this model, Show details
love it – Love this dryer have had it for just under year now, works well, no problem what so ever. The dial however does only move in one direction and that is forward you cannot go back and reduce the time of use. None the less i am still happy with this product Show details
Always gets the job done – We have had this dryer for years and I never have to worry about it. Its bog simple and always runs no matter what. The only thing to remember is to empty the lint filter from time to time (it really helps the efficiency) and apart from that nothing! I dont think its all that power efficient but it gets reasonably hot and dryers relatively quickly. I have already had fair value from this and would happily recommend it to others, Show details
Cheap and easy to use – So simple, was cheap and is easy to use. I’ve even ducted this to the outside which was also easy and painless. It’s not the most energy efficient by any means... but it was only 249$ from the seconds world. This is has been great for my new home laundry! Show details
Just keeps rolling on! – This is over five years old and doesn't show the slightest sign of stopping. We have had a perfect run from it and I never need to give it a moment's thought - it just works. Its just a time, heat selector , element and drum. Not a lot to go wrong. Happy customer and would buy the same one again. Show details
Bought in 2011 and still going strong – I bought this little dryer back in 2011 based on reviews on this very website and I'm pleased to report that mine is still going strong. For 1 or 2 people this is perfect. But if you've got a baby, a baby on the way, or thinking about babies, get something larger than 4kg. August 2022 Update: Dryer is still going strong. Since my last review we… Read more
have 2 kids under 5 and the dryer is used 10 times a week, more if someone wets the bed or rainy weather.
Sturdy reliable dryer – This dryer always does a good job. We have had it over three years and never the hint of a problem - it just works. Its very simple in layout - just a timer knob and heat selector switch (hot/warm) and that's all there is to it. You have to remember to empty the lint filter from time to time but apart from that there's not much to else say. It works well and never gives any trouble. Show details
Gets really warm - dries very fast – I try to limit dryer use as electricity is so dear these day. I am very happy with this dryer because it is very fast. Its the smaller one Simpsons do and it gets very warm. I find that so long as my washing has dried on the rack overnight, I can pop it in for 15-20 minutes and its quite dry. Its not noisy running and has simple clear controls. Simpson are a well known brand and I anticipate have this for many years. Show details

Good dryer - works well – This is a n excellent little dryer - there is nothing to it really. Just a motor a heating element and fan and a timer. Its a good design that has passed the test of time and I knew which dryer I wanted before we even got to the shop. It heats quickly and does a great job with the clothes. Its fast! Show details
Great Little Dryer – My mum gave me this and what a treat to have warmed up towels and clothes that are actually fully dry!! It is getting very cold in Melbourne now its winter and clothes take forever to dry. This is super easy to use - just two controls and runs nice and quite.I dont know how I ever did without it! Good Reliable Dyer – What a difference it makes having a clothes dryer in Melbourne! - This is the first time we have had one in may years and I already thing it is indispensable. We chose Simpson because it is smaller yet strong and well made. It is very fast with drying too. It just has heat settings and a timer. Very easy to use. Show details
Great Reliable Dryer – We promised ourselves this as finishing drying clothes is near impossible in freezing Melbourne winters. It is such a treat to have warm towels and properly dried clothes. The machine itself is very simple and hopefully reliable. It is a smaller sized dryer but its also very quick to complete drying. I know Simpsons are a reliable brand, so I am hoping we get many years of use from this. Show details
Handy Dryer Works Well – We only use this to finish off washing and its as quick as anything. There's just the two of us and so the size is perfect although it might be too small for a whole family. We find it is very reliable and heats up quickly. If you only need a couple of things dried it can be as quick as 15 minutes. Design is simple and that means it's more likely to be reliable in the futue,. We are happy with this dryer. Show details
Great Smaller Drter – This is the smaller 4KG Simpson dryer and its great. The smaller sized one seems to achieve hotter temperatures quicker than larger ones I have had in the past and as such run times are much less. The downside is that you can't put as much washing in at once but that is fine for me. Construction is solid and simple. Reliability is really great… Read more
with every Simpson I have owned. I would recommend this but perhaps not to larger families due to the smaller size.
really need one – i purchased a simpson 350 it has been a life saver over the 10 years i have had it..ido not have the room to air clothes....it has just failed me with the rubber ring that drives the motor slipping of due to a lot of wear i really miss it ...will certainly buy another simpson Show details
Simple Dryer Does The Job – This is like the kingswood of dryers. Simple no nonsense design that is very reliable. Ir does not have all the computer control panels of the fancy models. Just a Timer and heat setting switch. Inside is a drum and motor. Simple to use and works every time. Our last Simpson dryer went for over 15 years I hope this does too. Show details
Works great – I picked this up second hand quite cheap, and so far I have had it for about 4 years and it works great every time. If this one ever died I would purchase another one the same if I could. Takes about an hour to do a full load of clothes Show details
So Happy so far – Bought this in 2012 and mainly use this in rainy season or when we wash bedsheets and quilt covers. Really a good buy it was. This was the first electrical product we bought online through applianceonline store. Also advised few friends to buy this when they had kids and was in need for a good dryer :) Show details
Great little goer – Works well. Doesn't nwed to be on the hot cycle to work. Gets plenty of use as there are 6 of us. Would love to get a bigger one as our machine is 10kg but we only gor a 6kg drier. Doesn't stop start all the time like some of them can Show details

It does what it’s supposed to do – Simple to use with 2 heat settings, mechanical timer, door safety lock and easy to clean lint filter. This dryer is great it can dry a full load in 60 to 90 minuets it’s also great for refreshing your favourite garments or to uncrease shirts. this is a very basic unit but it’s built to last.
