If you want cheap and easy to clean, get this; if you want safety and comfort, avoid like the plague – We were provided two baby chairs from Ikea by a landlord for short term rent. We have had three different brands of high chairs in our travels over past three months - all had 5 point belts for the chair. They had varying faults but one felt that they had comparable basic safety- variations came more in comfort. One of them Fiorelli basic… Read more

model) was comparably priced to this Ikea chair, the other two were next pricing division up - with padding etc. The Ikea chair as other prudent critics have stated has only three point belt - making it immediately more dangerous than the other chairs. If your baby never moves forward suddenly, or preferably never moves, and perhaps has a well padded bottom - then the Ikea chair may well be for you with no problems. However, the number of reviews here which seem to be focused on easy to clean and price suggests an odd focus - surely baby safety is paramount. I certainly had no comfort that my babies were either safe or comfortable. We ended up buying Maxi Cosi high chairs asking the landlord to take away the Ikea chairs. The cost of these is right at the other end of the cost spectrum, but way safer and the babies are far more comfortable in the chairs. Bear in mind that part of the cost is that this chair can be used to a much older age than the Ikea chair making the real price differential over say a 3-5 year life much lower.

Simple & functional – Extremely simple, plain high chair. JUST what I wanted!! Super easy to clean, move, leave in the dining room, take camping... the only thing I would ever change on this is the straps. Theyre a pain to adjust with wiggly toddlers, but its not like you have to do it all the time, so its fine. Easy to clean, lightweight and easy to move about with it not taking up much space (especially compared to other high chairs) Show details

So easy to clean and makes meal time fun! – I was gifted this high chair before I could purchase one myself. The high chair itself is sturdy and comes apart easily if you need to take it out the house. It is so easy to clean and stores in the corner perfectly after use. It is very wide but the insert you can purchase separately is great. The clip isn’t great but this is an older model. I… Read more

bought a new one for my mother in law to keep and the quality of the secure harness is ten times better. For $25 odd dollars, it’s a great high chair.

unbeatable value & versatility – We looked at a bunch of things and ended up getting this, many ppl are practically giving it away in FB marketplace. There's a lot of aftermarket product such as footrest, silicon cover for the tray, etc - I just wish someone sold a timber leg for this as it looks way better. . Easy to clean, when detached the seat and the tray actually can be… Read more

put in our dishwasher for deep cleaning - we do this like once every 2 months. On most days we just put it in the backyard and hose it with water - 1 min cleaning job, all the leftover mini food scraps just fell and will be nutrition for the grass. it's stackable if you need more than one. It's everywhere - i'd say 90%+ restaurants/cafes/school uses this because of how affordable it is. Once baby got used to it, if you go out and about to restaurant and cafes and ask for a highchair... guess what, high chance your baby will be sitting in the same antilop ! they dont usually provide cushion so we just get an extra cushion and leave it in the car.

Because of how cheap it is we spend more money on cushion & cover and other aftermarket products - we got 2 cushion and 4 cover, and 4-5 of those 'raincoat bib' so when they got dirty after a meal we just chuck in the dirty one in the laundry and pull out a fresh clean one. More than enough to last the day.

All in all, no regret getting this, baby's happy, good value, very versatile, it's everywhere (90% restaurants/cafes/school use this) so once baby get used to it, it helps when we go out and about.

yes it doesn't have leather seat, wheels and all that stuff, but I feel it's not necessary. It's so light that we can lift it up and move it around in one hand. For stability the legs are slanted so when baby sit its own weight stabilize the chair.

The guys behind this product understood the essential point and nails them in our everyday scenario. Not the prettiest but for what we need it for, it works ridiculously well so far.

Simple but it works – We have a very small house, so didn’t want a bulky high chair or one that stuck out like a sore thumb. All the ones on the market were either too bulky and complicated or ugly or disgustingly expensive. Thought we would give the ikea one a try, we thought worse case scenario we would only be out of pocket for $25, if it didn’t work out. It… Read more

is the best decision we ever made, it is a very simple design and super light, it might not have the foldable features most high chairs have, but we can manoeuvre it around the house with one hand. I can remove the tray and put it in the dishwasher for really messy days or I just wipe it clean with a paper towel, so so easy to keep clean. There is not a thousand crevices you need to clean, you can even take it outside and hose it down (or place it in the shower and let it dry in there). It is plain white, so no need to stare at an ugly colour mis-matching with furniture.

For a small place, we just pop it next to our couch and store all my baby girls toys on top once we are done for the day/night. So keeps my place looking clean and organised.

I gave it only 4 out of 5 stars, as I just find it a teeny bit hard putting her in the high chair (pulling her back out is easier), especially with the cushion inside, this could come down to her being our first baby so lack of experience and coordination :)

Unsafe! what else matters when there are other easy to clean but safe chairs out there!! – This a cheap and easy to clean chair - that's pretty much why most people like it I reckon and that's it. We got this high chair when my baby was about 6 months old. It worked alright for us though did find the unadjustable tray too far (so heaps of food bits end up on the baby's lap which is very annoying) and the pretty flimsy strap just… Read more

makes it worse as it forces baby away from the tray. The tray itself can be difficult to take off and is quite large so messy to wash. Despite finding the chair not that great due these things I really persisted as wasn't keen to spend any more money and do really hate those canvas padded chairs that are really difficult to clean.

But then my 14month old has worked out how to stand up on the chair! causing me quite a lot of stress. No, I never leave her unattended in the chair, however there are times I want to walk just couple of meters from her while she is still in full sight of me to get a yogurt or spoon or whatever and she is just so good and fast at getting up I've had to rush to her standing on several occasions- not fun. Not only that but pretty much now she decided when she wants to finish and leave by continuously trying to stand up while we are still eating or even very early in the meal - so frustrating and not a problem in our portable high chair with a proper harness we've had to start to use instead until I get a better/safer easy to clean chair.

As far as I'm concerned, this is a major safety issue and one I'm not willing to compromise the safety of my child with - the 3 point harness is pretty much useless as my daughter can press against it and it gives and it keeps her away from the tray so that food bits end up all over her lap.

I wish Ikea at least let you purchase a 5 point harness you can attach to this chair.

In the end there are plenty of more expensive easy to clean high chairs that have a safe harness, that have adjustable trays and other features.

I'd love to be able to recommend this chair and gave it 2 stars for lost cost and ease of cleaning it but really should be giving it 1 star for the major safety issue is poses. Not worth possible danger to my child and the stress.

Excellent – We bought one of these IKEA highchairs used from gumtree and are brilliant. It went through two kids and is easy to clean. Very sturdy. Sold again so now another family is enjoying it. It is great to see such long lasting products still being made and needs to be encouraged. Well done IKEA.

Such good value for money – I love that you can opt to purchase the tray or not, we got the tray but have found that if we slide the tray off the chair pulls up to our dining table nicely. It’s also super easy to clean, tray slides off can be rinsed or hosed off easily. Also, we can take it to friends or family members houses for dinners or bbqs :) Show details

Unsafe – This highchair is a terrible product. I regret buying it. The plastic chair hurts the baby so much. It topples very easily and is so hard to take the tray off. I just don't see how it can pass safety standards. Cheap and nasty. Ikea has never been that good anyway.

Need feet support – Overall it is simple to use and easy to clean. The only problem is my baby has to hold up her legs to put her feet on the seat. It was ok when she was smaller but has become too squashy. She stopped using it around 1.5 yo. It would be nice if there was mechanism to turn it into a booster seat.

A good staple for the price, but watch out for better ones when they go on sale – We bought one for our Bub in preparation for starting solids. Pros: - the price! Great for back up seats to put at grandparents' place - easy to clean - easy to assemble - stackable - most cafes and restaurants use these too so you're accustomed to them by the time you go out - aesthetically, the white one looks crisp and clean (but I… Read more

have seen ones that have been well worn..)

- transports reasonably well

Cons:

- the harness is only 3 point so it can feel a bit dangerous (compared to 5 point ones)

- the tray is REALLY difficult to get off - makes it hard to clean Day-to-day

- we found the pillow a bit useless in propping the baby forward

- can't be converted to a shorter seat

- doesn't fold

All in all, it gets the job done for a great price but it now lives at grandma's. We ended up getting the Mother's Choice chair from Aldi which we love!

Ikea Antilop – This IKEA high chair offers great value for money. It's easy to wipe down and pull apart when required. Mind you it takes a bit of force at first to get the tray off the chair. The very first time I was sure I was going to break it but with time it got easier. They stack quite well and are quite sturdy. Although when bub gets to a standing up point the harness is not the best. Overall a splendid item and a must have for our household.  Show details

Best highchair – This is such a great highchair. Its sturdy and easy to put together. The best feature is that it is easy to clean. There are no padded parts that have to get machine washed. You can literally take the highchair outdoors and hose the whole thing off. My first baby was very happy using this highchair and I plan to get two more for my twins. This is a great value for money item. Highly recommend. Show details

Fantastic value – We’ve been using this chair for almost 3 years and will be buying a second one for our youngest. Easy to clean and our son is happy sitting in it. The inflatable insert is great when they’re little. Such a long lasting and affordable chair. I put a Command hook on the back to hang bibs. Lightweit and easy to move around and dismantle. The tray is a good size too. Show details

Excellent affordable highchair – This chair is a must in any household with a bub. Brilliantly cheap, easy to clean and you can even pull it apart and take with you if needed. Useful for more than just feeding, but also other activities if needed. And they sell on later. Also perfect for the grandparents house. Show details

Great high chair – Best thing about this chair is it is so easy to clean, which you need to do 5 times a day so it’s important! Probably not the most comfortable chair but has lasted two kids and the first sat in it two years without complaint. Easy to take apart to take on holiday/friends houses. Show details

Unbeatable Value – This highchair is fantastic value at $30.00. Had one for my eldest years ago and it outlasted the $200 Graco chair! This time around I went straight to Ikea, the design is so basic and chair so sturdy I will easily be able to pass it along to someone else once it is outgrown. Being able to take it outside and hose it down is a bonus... Show details

Perfect HighChair! All you need – Ok so when I got pregnant all I wanted was a flashy padded highchair with all the bells and whistles. But I was gifted this high chair for my baby shower and I am so glad I was. It is so easy to clean, safe and very affordable. The inflatable cushion is also worth purchasing too, great for smaller bubs and easy to wash!

Good product – So glad Ikea came up with this product. Don't understand why others sell it so expensively. It is easy to use and durable and easy to clean. My daughter has out grown it now but younger brother will start using it soon. So worth it! Even the restaurants use them.

Perfect for Baby Led Weaning – So glad I did not purchase any of those expensive baby high chairs as this one is perfect. Easy to clean for BLW, durable and no fuss. It's also the same high chair that restaurants use so my child is used to being in them when we're out. I also attached a food catcher to the chair so I can pretty much bring it anywhere around the house.

DURABLE LIKE A LOG! – no mess, easy to clean, no damage, used for 3 yrs in a row. saved money but got the service! Very good product for bub as it wears out after a yr anyway and bub grew out of it. the cushion is changeable as well. Definitely would recommend it for general use.

Perfect product – This may the perfect high chair. Dirt cheap, unbreakable and easy to Clean. Dont buy a fancy chair just get this. The expensive chairs always put your child at awkward angles with a slight recline, this chair however is a perfect marriage of convenience form and function. You can't go wrong.

Wash it in the dishwasher! – Yep, it fits in the dishwasher as well. Tray in the top shelf, seat in the bottom. Easy to clean, simple to use, portable & cheap. Can't beat it! The insert is great for small babies. I also have a Phil and Ted's lobster which is great for attaching to a kitchen bench but such a pain to clean.

Great value for money chair – Bought this highchair for $30 from IKEA, was the cheapest one that I could find new, but definitely haven't complained. Kids love it, as it's comfortable to sit in and easy to put them in and take them out. Can strap them in and safety wise also no problems. Great value for money!

Small and simple – After looking around at other high chairs that were expensive, bulky and ugly, I decided to get the Ikea high chair as at $25 it was pretty low risk. So glad I did. for smaller babies. Our child is 7 months old.

I really wanted the blue chair but Ikea doesn't ever seem to have them, so we had to get white. I was concerned the white plastic would get stained but so far that hasn't happened. The only con would be that once we put the tray on, we haven't been able to get it off again. I'm also not sure when he will be too big for this chair.

simple but the best – Great high chair. My child is 8 months and love to sit in this High Chair. Easy to clean and put together. good for storage as legs come off. if you have a messy eater you could always hose down the chair also. i have used more expensive high chairs and they dont compare to this simple design.

Literally the best – This high chair is so easy to clean! It's inexpensive and using the infant insert it has grown with our baby. I have found that it is light enough for a bigger baby while still being sturdy and safe yet it doesn't take up too much space in our house.

Easily the best high chair out – I don't have kids, but regularly look after my two nephews, so we needed a high chair for the littlest one. My sister had one of these at her house, so I bought a second one - so cheap! Seriously there's no need to buy anything else. Simple as, as expensive (or not) as it needs to be, and easily packs into a corner if we haven't got the kids for a while.
