good fit – I have 2 pockets(velcro) and 2 all-in-ones (stud close). I bought them for my second child to suplement our existing nappies that were getting a little worn, and used them for about 18mo with him and now have been using them with my third for about 11 months. I'm finding the AIO's are now falling apart, but possibly it's because they're my… Read more

husband's favourite nappy of all the ones we have (used tots-bots & fuzzibunz with first). I tried to buy some more last January but after 4 months of holding our money the supplier still hadn't sent the nappies so I asked for a refund, and now I can't find an alternate supply.

I'd recommend the stud-close as the velco tabs get fluffy and don't close properly after a while(despite laundry tabs) and small fingers find them eady to open. They are as "easy" to use as a disposable, and the AIO's have a fantastic fit, with the pockets it depends what you stuff them with- I usually add a cotton/bamboo booster to the microfibre as I find it minimizes leakage. great adjustable fit velcro/applix is annoying, AIO falling apart with 2nd child, hard to get hold of

Disappointed – I bought 24 of these nappies in white for my first born son. I was of the belief that I would get at least 2 children out of these nappies but I have not. The elastic in the legs did not even last through one child and he was toilet trained during the day at 2 years of age and has only been wearing a nappy for sleeping since then, I bought the… Read more

nappies when he was about 4 months old as I had some other brands in smaller sizes so it wasn't that these were thrashed with use either. The velcro has also worn and I would never buy nappies with velcro again.

So I have now had my second baby and am in the process of unpicking velcro and the legs to remove elastic and replace it to get use out of them for another child.

They were not cheap so I did expect to get more wear out of them than I have. I dry paled, washed in a front loader on no warmer than 40 degrees, used Rockin Green Laundry powder, line dried them and never put them in the tumble dryer. The fit is lovely and trim Elastic in legs didn't even last one child. Velcro don't even thing about it, Ever, Never!

Good – I have tried a few different modern cloth nappies and liked these the best, so I bought around 26 for my stash. They are easy to adjust for different age/size babies and quick and easy to put on. They wash easily in your washing machine with minimal washing powder and can be either tumble dried or line dried. They come with a smaller newborn… Read more

insert as well as the full size insert. I started using them on my son when he was 15 months old, but then when my daughter was born I didn't start using them on her until she was about 3/4 months, as they looked absolutely enormous on her!! She is now 8 months and currently using them in the middle size, so she will get plenty more wear out of them. While they are expensive to buy initially, the cost savings over 2-3 years of nappies (for even just one child) are huge. There is not much extra work involved, just 3-4 washes per week, but I found it was worth it to save the money not buying disposables. Easy to use, quick to wash and dry Expensive outlay (RRP $38 each), can get stinky after a while then needs stripping, bulky on a newborn

Excellent – I love this nappy. I have used it for 7 months so far (since baby was 3 months until now, 10 months). It has been excellent - it never leaks except when it is too full. So far it has coped well overnight. The velcro makes it quick and easy to put on which is so important with a wriggly baby. But velcro can also be pulled off by baby. Its nice and… Read more

soft against baby's skin. I haven't had any problems yet with elastic or velcro but I haven't had them as long as other reviewers so I can't comment on that. The only down side is the cost - $38 here. They are so cheap in the US but unfortunately Bumgenius has a policy of not shipping overseas. If you have a friend or relative there that can send it to you its much cheaper. Thats what I did and even after including shipping cost it averaged out to $AU22 per nappy. (Although the risk is that you won't have warranty because its not worth paying to send it back there if there is a problem. But for the saving I was happy to take the risk.) Overall very happy with the product and I do recommend it. Quick drying, almost never leaks, easy to put on, keeps baby's skin dry so less nappy rash. Being one size it is a bit bulky on a smaller baby, stuffing can get tedious (but thats the case for all pocket nappies), baby can get pull velcro off so can't wear it without pants on top. Cost if bought in Ausralia - if you can get it from the US its much cheaper.

Terrible – Unfortunately, these nappies do not last the distance. I used these nappies on my little girl. They were excellent for the first 6 months. They were okay for the next 3 months (up to 9 months) and then after that they deteriorated rapidly: the elastic went completely, so there was no more stretch, we had "puddle on the floor" incidents because the… Read more

wee just ran straight out through the loose leg holes (elastic is crucial!), the tabs started curling and got caught on things (the nappy opened accidentally a number of times because of this). This was all despite me being obsessive about looking after them and washing them properly the whole time. When my daughter turned 12 months I started throwing these out, and within a few weeks I had thrown out all twelve that I originally bought (but kept the inserts for other pocket nappies). Because these nappies are a "one size fits all" they are also very bulky: I put up with that, thinking that my daughter would be wearing them when she was a toddler, but not so. These nappies are very expensive and won't last you to toilet training. They certainly won't last more than one child. I have a number of different brands of cloth nappy and these are the only ones that have deteriorated to the point that I had to throw them out. My advice to parents thinking of using cloth nappies: diversify! Don't put all your eggs in one basket, that way you spread your risk. You might decide that these nappies are worth it in the short term depending how quickly they pay themselves off, but at least you'll go into it knowing there's a big chance they won't last. gentle around baby's legs, contain well (while the elastic is good) Age badly, don't last to toilet training, elastic wears out quickly, tabs curl and come off easily

Love these nappies!! – These are the reason I have stuck with cloth nappies! Have tried lots of other brands that don't work nearly as well - these have been my saving grace!! I've been using them on my daughter since she was 1 month old, she's now 11 months and they are… Read more ·  1

still going strong! I now use the boosters all the time to give a little extra absorbency. Just love them!! Don't leak (I change every 3-4 hours during the day). Wash really well. Colours don't fade. Dry quickly. 1 yr warranty that is honoured by distributer (I had to get some velcro restitched, this was done under warranty, no worries!) A little expensive but do your reseach - can get them for less than $20. Velcro and elastic do show signs of wear but can be replaced.

Excellent – Awesome nappy! Lasts a minimum of 6.5 hours during the day (at a wedding and couldn't change him). At night I add 2 of the boosters and it lasts him 12-14 hours. trim fitting nappy and works great for under pants.

I was so impressed with this nappy, that I ordered 24 Bumgenius V4.0 (new style). They are even better than the V3.0!!! I bought 12 of he "artist prints" and they are very nice to look at. The V4.0 caters also for bigger and chunkier bubs. Good news for my 1o month old 14.5kg boy!

No wicking

Great fit

Very absorbent

Quick drying

Really fits from newborn upto toilet training. Colours are a little boring, but they now have the artist prints. Its an improvement. Would love for them to make some soft minky nappies too.

Good – One of our favourite everyday nappies. So easy, and light. Very absorbent and quick to dry. Fantastic service by nurture nappies (the main BumGenius supplier to Australia). majority of my everyday nappies were with this brand. Even though they improved dramatically with each new version, I found the elastic in all versions does deteriorate faster than you would expect. I did however use these nappies to death so I probably got more than my monies worth. I would not buy them now though at the price they retail at (I believe it is $35+)

Very easy to use – I originally bought 6 of these nappies when my son was born and found them very easy to use. I'd used terry cloth squares with my older daughter and found the bum genius a great way to use cloth without too much hassle. OK – it's quite a good nappy, but i think there are nappies out there that are better value for money. its unfortunate to spend lots on a nappy then end up having to use disposables through the night anyway. the snaps to shorten the rise make it a good nappy for smaller babies and newborns. the flap under which you find the pocket for the insert… Read more

continually gets poo stuck under it. other brands i have tried have the pocket opening on the very top of the nappy, which is a far better design in my opinion. also, the microfibre inserts are not adequate for a heavy wetting baby - my baby wets through within an hour or so, and there is no hope of them lasting through the night even with the recommended extra insert. bamboo inserts are far more absorbent!

Started brilliantly but then – Loved the bum genius on my baby girl. Loved the colours, the ease of use and the washability of them and the fact they were environmentally friendly. Great nappy – These nappies have been the mainstay of my nappy stash. While I haven't used them at night time they have been very reliable during the day. They are quick drying and fit well. biggest regret is buying velcro closures. I have been using these nappies almost full time for about 12 months and in the last month the velcro is getting so worn out the nappies were falling off him. Now I have to replace it all (on 6 nappies no less!) as I really want to use these nappies until he is toilet trained and then for another child. I have looked at quite a few forums and this is a really common problem, I wish I knew about it before I bought them.

My nappies with snaps are fine. The reason I bought velcro is because I was told the fit is better and it is easier to get on but to be honest I have never had any of those problems with my nappies with snaps. If you have a baby who really doesn't want to get their nappy changed it is hard to do no matter what kind of fastenings you have to do up!

I bought these nappies cheaper than the recommended retail through a friend and if I had to pay full price I would probably have looked at other options. Great fit, great drying time, rarely leak. Velcro! Don't do it!

There are better value nappies available – I bought one of these nappies to try at a Parents, Babies and Children's Expo but I haven't bought any more of this brand. designed for night use (though to be honest I use disposables at night and cloth in the daytime). I do think it fits my bub even better than the others though due to the velcro rather than snaps and we did use the front snaps to adjust the nappy size when he was younger. OK – Overall, it's a really good nappy. But perhaps because it's such a popular nappy/ poor stock ordering by BG, you may fork out your money and still have to wait a long time before you get what you ordered. Good reliable nappy. So if you're planning to buy BG, word of advice - buy in advance. Otherwise you risk getting caught without you BGs nappies.

OK – I would much prefer a hemp or bamboo insert. Whilst these have an excellent reputation and I have used them on a chunky 15kg toddler and a newborn without leaks, they aren't my favourite. Bad – For less than 12mths use they are not worth the money spent. the pocket which is not a good solution (see cons). They are one of the most expensive nappies and we'll now be looking at others for my daughters second baby. Very disappointed in the nappy and particularly the after sales service. The nappies were easy to use & fitted well although the tabs come undone in the wash and stick to other items. I purchased for my daughter and after less than 12 months use they started to not absorb causing huge leakage. She now has to use with the pad on the outside of the pocket which negates having the pocket and the wetness is not drawn away from baby causing (at times) bad nappy rash.

Good – Overall it's a decent nappy but I do wish that they didn't leak as much. Also the stuffing of the insert can be annoying. Easy to use especially for grandparents / fathers who are not used to using cloth nappies. Inserts dry quite quickly which is a plus. The velcro tabs seem to come undone in the wash and end up sticking to everything it comes in contact with. Also have experienced a leak or two.

Excellent – Best decision we ever made! Saved us a fortune already. Great nappies, would reccommend to anyone. It is rare to find such a good product. They are fantastic. them if you are too lazy to change baby. The tabs are great so the nappy changes size with your baby. They are easy to wash and we have followed the instructions and had no issues with elastic or stitching yet (9 months). Bad – When I first started using them I would have given a 5 star review, but I found they deteriorated very quickly. Also they just won't work for every baby with the pure microfiber insert--it was great for my son but my daughter could wet straight through them with one go. easy to use, will fit a large range of sizes, company stands behind their product and they've made cloth more approachable for a lot of people I found the materials--aplix, pul and elastic--all quite poor quality.
