Cheap and unreliable – I have had 2 of these mowers and experiened nothing but trouble with them. When they are going they are ok but reliability is a serious problem. The pull start crank is spun by two plastic lugs which bend easily under the excessive number of times you have to pull these mowers to get them started. A stressed member such as these lugs and the crank… Read more

ought to be metallic (as they are in my Honda engined mower). You definitely get what you pay for with mowers and if you value reliability and non-failing parts and don't want to pull your shoulder out trying to start it up, I'd advise steering clear of the Talon Surefire 145.

Excellent mower – Mine has been going strong for 11 years. Havent even added oil or changed the plugs. Starts every time. I would recommend this mower and would buy another one. Only cost me $200 Show details

Surprising value for money – I bought this mower as a cheap stand in while my 2 yr old honda (at the time ) had some down time - needed rebuilding. I still have this mower right now, 11 years later. The Honda, incidentally, died 6 months into it's first rebuild. The Talon starts first time every time and still looks nearly as good as it did when it was new. Though the engine… Read more

struggles with the heavy stuff, it will manage it. It's better to keep up with garden maintenance and trim the lawn every couple of weeks, however. Then there'll be no worries at all. The catcher is a little awkward, but can be managed. Obviously, handling the catcher with care will prolong it's life, as mine has survived all this time with barely a scratch. Keep it clean. Make sure it has oil and replace the oil every now and then. Keep it out of the weather. This is what I believe partly contributed to the longevity of my mower, the other part being attributable to the product itself. Overall I'm really impressed. I certainly got more than I was expecting. I would buy another Talon.

Terrible – Spend the extra money and only purchase from someone who knows what they are taking about. Not a sell everything outlet such as Bunnings was a reasonably cheap replacement at time of purchase Have had this mower for under two years and have had the motor replaced twice under warranty.still no good . Worst mower ever purchased. And now no spare parts available.

Bad – yeah got the same mower off a friend and hoping to fix it found that it had no spark at the plug left it for a wile and decided to attack at fixing it realised that the main spark wire was not secured in the ignition coil properly and just wondering if any one else has had this problem with this particular lawnmower and possibly how much it is to… Read more

OK – This is a fairly reliable easy to use mower when looked after. Very cheap sale price was a draw card for me. This is the KIA RIO of the lawn mover world, lacks quality and power. Easy to start, Low purchase price Fairly gutless engine

OK – No doubt about it, its value for money thats for sure but go through some relatively thick cooch grass and you'll slow to a crawl. Sometimes it feels as if you could reach under the body and stop the blade with your tongue (not that you would). Checked for a blown/leaking head gasket but all seems good, just an underpowered machine. Rather flimsy… Read more

catcher too, already has two cracks in the bottom. Yep, cheap, does the job, and starts every time. But in this reviewers opinion will probably go for a "name" brand next time. Easy to start, thats always a good point Heavy, seems to lack torque
