D-Link, an industry leader in networking, introduces the DSL-504T, an ADSL router modem combining both an ADSL modem and a network router in one unit, bringing high-speed Internet connectivity to a home or office.

The DSL-504T uses ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) technology for Internet connection speeds of up to 150x faster than dial-up, while using a standard phone line. With broadband, experience faster Web surfing or quicker downloads.

With a built-in 4-port switch, up to four network-ready computers or devices can simultaneously be connected to the DSL-504T for access to the Internet.

The router functionality on the DSL-504T ADSL Router Modem includes support for VPN pass-through of multiple concurrent IPSec and PPTP tunnels, making it especially useful for telecommuters or users who need a more secure way to communicate and transmit information.

A simple configuration tool and a Web-based user interface allow you to easily modify settings to connect to your Internet Service Provider (ISP). This Web interface also provides traffic statistics, connection speed, and other detailed information.

The DSL-504T ADSL Router Modem supports static IP, Dynamic IP, as well as PPPoE connections, and works with applications such as online gaming and VPN connections. The DSL-504T is easily upgradeable, making it future-proof for both end-users and service providers.

Whether it’s for a home user who wants to share high-speed Internet access or for a small office that needs Internet access for conducting essential business activities, the DSL-504T ADSL Router Modem is the ideal all-in-one broadband and Network solution.

Pros: Nice, functional, great value for money

Cons: None

Overall: Out of all the brands I have tried, this modem has stood the test of time. I've put about 8.8TB worth of data through it and still it hasn't died on me :)

Pros: Cheap - possibly nasty

Cons: just couldn't keep a connection - had a ZyXel (modem only) to check line and connected fine every time. Configured correctly - spent 2 hrs on phone to iinet support to verify= setup correct

Overall: you get what you pay for as the old saying goes - not even going to give it to the local opp shop.

Pros: Durable and functional

Cons: none

Overall: This router merges Internet gateway functions with a built-in ADSL modem and a 4-port switch.
It lets every household with internet connection share an ADSL line and ISP account ( no need to have separate
accounts that will double your bill). The modem supports ADSL full rate and economic G.lite rate, plus "always-on"
and dial-up connection to save ISP charge. The device can be set to agree to separate FTP, Web, and Multiplayer
game servers to share the same Internet-visible IP address while still shielding your servers and workstations
from hackers. This device supports UPnP for easy and robust connectivity among heterogeneous
standards-based network devices. The device automatically assigns IP address for your office users,
while masking these addresses from others on the Internet. It blocks and re-directs certain ports to limit
the services that outside users can access your network. Virtual Server Mapping is used to re-task services
to multiple servers.
