No good – Have had this vacuum cleaner for a couple of years but have spent as much time cleaning filters as vacuuming the floor, looking at it now it has masking tape holding the hose together and I must admit it causes me so much grief I can't be bothered using it and keep pulling out my old Electrolux which after twenty years still works better than… Read more
this, lately I've cleaned all the filters and covered up all leaky bits on the hose and it still has terrible suction.
Vax Zero Absolute - Exactly! – My husband bought this vacuum for me which was a lovely gesture on his part but the vacuum itself is absolute rubbish. I have never asked him how much it was as I do not want to be any further disappointed. The only way I can vacuum the carpet is by hand using the nozzle as it is unable to vacuum carpet at all. It is appropriately named cause it… Read more
vacuums ABSOLUTE ZERO up!! What a terrible excuse for a vacuum cleaner.
It should not be called a vacuum cleaner unless it can suck but this just sux!
Piece of rubbidh – Bought this because had a vax in past and was happy. Terrible suction filter blows off and eventually sent to holiday house but after probably 50 hours use motor blew up. Waste of money and was not cheap to buy. Ended up buying a dyson never will I buy vax again Everything
Not a Vacuum for Pet People – A reasonable vacuum, but not recommended for dealing with dog hair. I have two dogs that shed a lot of fur. I bought this vacuum thinking the rotating roller in the head would help in the weekly battle of getting hair off the carpet. What happened instead is that a substantial amount of hair got caught on the brushes in the head, and gradually… Read more
wound around the roller inside, requiring constant snipping to remove. Approximately every second use I had to dismantle the head with a screw-driver and spend at least thirty minutes removing hair that really should not have got into the rotating mechanism.
One particularly frustrating design feature is the primary roller, which looks like a double-sided fan inside the head. This is operated by the suction - the vacuum sucks air through a hole underneath this fan, and as the air passes the blades, it turns them.
When this fan turns, it spins a wheel, which runs a small belt, which runs the roller. Unfortunately dog hair would become raveled in a tight circlet around the fan's metal axle. This would have been easy to clear off, except for the plastic housing out of which the axle cannot be removed. The only way I found I could get this hair off the axle (in order for the rollers to work so I could actually clean with it!) was to scrape, cut, even burn it away with matches - usually requiring thirty minutes before use.
Needless to say, dismantling the head, cleaning it etc. is a frustrating experience when trying to do Saturday cleaning. I came to dread the fortnightly head clean.
What irks me a little is that I'm pretty sure this was advertised as a good vacuum-cleaner for people with pets and indoor dogs.
I also found it rather loud, particularly compared with another vacuum cleaner by VAX which had three times the suction power and half the noise. Nevertheless, I could have lived with all of this had the head not needed frequent maintenance. Oddly enough, the VAX vacuum I had before I bought this one had a similar problem (the neck was too narrow and hair caught inside the hose making a tight "plug" that needed, literally, to be rammed out with a broom-handle).
Despite all of this, it's not a bad vacuum. Mine hasn't fallen apart, and it's been quite sturdy. It is still in good working condition as of 2012, however, I am looking to buy a new one for obvious reasons. Long cord, reliable, inexpensive Head design does not survive dog hair.
Terrible – My husband bought this it was the worst cleaner ever , spent more time clearing blockages than actually cleaning - put it out for kerbside collection after only 3 months - complete waste of money - back to using my old reliable Meile Everything - poor suction , everything jams in hose
OK – A good product for the price. It is easy enough to use for general household dust, not sure about anything heavier. Easy to use. Long cord. When filters are clean, sucks well. Crevice tools fall out. Telescopic pipe won't grip (either all in or all out). Filters are everywhere and won't suck if they are full.
Terrible – A very frustrating experience, problems started after the first month and kept coming, we have persisted for a few years to try and get some value from the machine. Has really tested my Hubbys ingenuity. Will never buy a VAX again. Vacuums well when it's not falling apart. Have had to replace filter. Hook for telescopic wand broke on second use.… Read more
Tyres fell of back wheels. Hubby attached a flower pot roller so I could pull it around. Prongs on plug eventaully broke off as they were bent each time cord retracted. Telescopic wand kept falling out of plastic sleave at the end of the flexible hose. Eventually plastic sleave snapped off at the end and couldn't attached wand. Husband sanded back plastic sleave so they would fit together again.
Terrible – Total waste of money for $300. Warranty means nothing because apparantly its normal to rust and become useless piece of #$%#. Never again Nothing good about this product. Wand and head of vacuum completely rusted out after only 15 months. Wand no longer retracts/extends due to the rust. Suction isnt as good as it should be.
Excellent – Great unit and if you pay for something you want quality, this is it! Easy to use and with a two year warranty why would you use something else. This vac I purchased yesterday was amazing, I thought our carpet was clean until this vac extracted crap out that you could not see. Great vac and would go past it, with additional bits and pieces its a must have item... Still have to push it!
Good – Recommended overall. I'm quite happy with this and would buy again. Got a good deal online at just over $200. Long power cord does each floor of my house without having to replug, good suction and the ergonomic handle feels very nice to use. The onboard tools tend to fall off fairly easily which is slightly annoying as they are not all that easy to get back into place.
