Overall:
This camera features a much larger optical zoom than most of its competitors, and for anyone who's done anythign with digital photography, you know that it's the optical zoom, not digital, that makes a camera. While other companies proudly proclaim their 400x optical zooms, the fact remains that the more you zoom in, the lower the quality of your output video.
This camera doesn't sport a lot of features, but it doesn't need them. I has all that you need for home applications bar one: night vision.
I know it doesn't sound like somthing you really need, but if you start making home movies, there are times when you wish you had it.
A good all-round camera.
Pros:
Being a successor to the MV600i series, the MV630i comes with lens that can zoom 20x-400x. Although its max. (still) resolution is only 1024 x 768, being able to produce still and moving media with the MV630i is a very nice experience to make. There's bundled applications included to suit your editing requirements.
Cons:
No night shot capability. The MV630i got however better image stability than its predecessors.
Overall:
While MV630i records only in PAL system, it features alot of options to save your recordings such as through MMC or SD. Save it via FireWire, i.Link and USB compatible, so its most likely handling all around transfers.
