Save your cash and just wash by hand – This was on the house when we moved in. It takes for absolutely EVER to not wash stuff. I have to rise most items before they go in and then hand wash them when they come out 2 hours later. It is a very quiet machine but that's probably because it's doing nothing. Also the top shelf is exactly the wrong angle and shape to hold a stem less wine glass so we found out the hard way when they all smashed. Show details
A piece of junk – This unit was in our house when we moved in. I agree with similar reviews on this page. The cycle always takes the same no matter how dirty or full the unit is. The family jokes about about how useless the dishwasher is. In fact it does a good job at making dishes dirty. It’s unbelievable that F&P have got this so wrong. What a great example this model is for failed design and testing. Show details
Terrible. Last F&P I ever buy – When I first bought this unit I was convinced by the sales person this was the one and only unit. It senses the dirtiness of the dishes and adjusts the wash cycle accordingly. Blah. Every wash takes the same time no matter how dirty or how many dishes in it. Wash takes about 2 hours with no way to change the cycle manually. Dishes come out… Read more
dirty 75% of the time regardless of whether they are rinsed or not. I have used cleaners, vinegar, bicarbonate the whole lot. No change. Called customer care and they advised I buy the most expensive tablets possible. So I did. No change. Told the fault was mine but I could pay some mad fee for a technician. I put up with it and it ran out of warranty. Unit now fails to drain and I end up with a check filter message. Clean the filters, no dice. Remove hoses no dice. Run an empty cycle no dice. Clean again no dice. Worthless piece of crap. Very expensive worthless piece of crap.
Best dishwasher we have had so far – Super quiet, very stylish. Just press one button and it is clever enough to determine how dirty the dishes are (by sensing the water quality) and just run the cycle on its own. Never had any problems in the several years we have owned it! Just a shame they are not making these anymore...
Big mistake – I've had this dishwasher for 6 years now. It was good compared to my older fisher until I went to clean it. Discovered it's impossible for it reach high temperature when empty. After a few months it would cut my electricity off and cause a blackout every time the power button was pushed. The technician blamed my main switch, the electrician blamed the dishwasher. It's defenetly time to toss it. I'll be getting one with settings not auto.
I need control – Machine was in the house we bought. Not surprised the previous owners went for the one touch auto machine as cleaning was of little importance to them. Stacking top shelf is awkward & end up lying most things flat which wastes space. I have to refill RinseAid constantly & takes almost whole bottle!! This machine has no clue how to wash dishes. … Read more
It may squirt water at them for a couple of hours, but that's about it. Then it plays its annoying tune over & over to let you know it's done rinsing & now you can get up & wash them.
Nothing but problems – Replacing an old Dishlex, we thought this expensive one touch system would last a while. Within the first two years seals were breaking; they were also replaced, at a hefty price. Just short of four years of owning the POS, something went wrong with the control board and wouldn't power on at all! So finally, we replaced it with a cheapie Omega; it… Read more
runs rings around this poor excuse of a dishwasher. Automatic adjustments, 5 star water rating Expensive when new, broke down after a short time
No control – The main purpose of a dishwasher is to wash dishes. If a dishwasher fails on this point, nothing else matters and that is certainly the case with this F&P automatic everything dishwasher. The amount of 'rejects' I have gotten from the dishwasher is disappointing and any time, power and water savings are immediately forgotten when items have to be… Read more
hand washed or put in the dishwasher again.
Too easy to use means there is a downside, and that is lack of control when you, the user, know you need to use a heavy cycle.
Piece of Junk – Disherwasher caught fire mid cycle in the control panel, Rang F & P customer care 0800 number, they couldn't have cared less. However I can pay for someone to come and have a look at it. It's not even 3 years old. I will never buy Fisher & Paykel ever again. was expensive $1300.00, took 2 hours to complete a wash
Don't purchase this! – If only I had been a member of this Review and read up about this dishwasher I would be a happy lady. After the Bosch dishwasher broke we purchased this. Complete waste of money. Does not clean. Does not dry. Very noisy. Given up. After having other makes before and hearing this was a good brand very disappointed. Only plus side is got it very cheap, although you get what you pay for does spring to mind! Looked good Everything
Useless!!! – Brought this dishwasher as our first one & it has been nothing but useless, have tried to have it fixed twice but both times it has made no difference. Doesn't get hot enough which mean the dishes are all ways wet plus they have to be practically clean before they go in to the machine otherwise they come out dirty. :-( Bad customer service, Technician wont come to house to fix it so we have to take it to him, no heat, no dry
Load of – We were given this dishwasher as a replacement model to our previous dishwasher after a ridiculous amount of issues. Right from the start it was a noisy unit. We are a family of five and we were needing to do a wash cycle every day as there is not enough room to pack anymore dishes. The unit has broken down twice in 8 months and every issue has… Read more
been under warranty but it is the time off work to cater for the open appointments which is wearing thin. Customer support is useless and I am currently begging them to take the machine away. Having a dishwasher is meant to make your life easier not harder. Looks good Faulty product, poor customer service, ongoing reliability issues.
Fisher and Paykel one Touch DW60DOX1 – Best dishwasher ever! Have owned this product for 2 months now and it's proving to be a great investment. Fully automatic, perfect results every time. Virtually silent, you have to listen hard to even know its running. Easy installation with removable lid for under bench, snug fit. Great quality. So glad I did my research and bought this model.… Read more · 1
It's never disappointed. Perfect wash every time. Virtually silent. Some people might not like the fully auto operation. But with clean dishes every wash, what's not to like.

Know better, choose better.
Hate rounded top shelf; salesman told me you could over-ride one touch and select cycles – I didn't want a sensor dishwasher, but the sales man talked me into it & assured me you could over-ride as there were 5 wash cycles. He explained, that when the machine was turned on, the button on the front could be used to select the cycle I wanted - he should have been selling used cars! I always rinse my dishes, so they are pretty clean… Read more
going into the dishwasher but can still take up to 1.5 hrs.
The top shelf is rounded, which may be good for cleaning, but makes it hard to stack. Have a good look before you purchase and imagine how your cups & glasses would stack on the top shelf. You can't place cups or glasses in the centre securely and it's hard to place cereal/desert bowls in the top shelf. It may have been better if there was prongs in the centre. Finally, you need to be extremely careful with wine glasses, I now have a number with chips from my new dishwasher.
The dishwasher is very quiet, which was high on our list. Overall I'm pretty disappointed with purchase. Quiet. Plays a cute short tune to let you know it's finished Sales man advised you could over-ride one touch. Top shelf hard to stack, not user friendly
It looks great but ueless dishwasher – I bought this dishwasher for 7months it has spoilt for 3 times. The last time Fisher Paykel technician came and unable to detect the problems. I called the Fisher Paykel customer service for a replacement for a new unit. However, they refuse to do so. They insisted to for a repair and change of parts. Fisher paykel technician claim that this… Read more
is the first time they had this problem. They are nable yo rectify the problems. When I read the review this machine has always got a lot of problems.
Do not buy this Dish washer. It is just crab. Do not see any good things with the dishwasher Lousy unit.
We have had the same experience. Three repairs and it is still broken. Fisher & Paykel not helping… Read more
Terrible – It worked for 2 weeks then it stopped working, it still ran through it's cycle but didn't wash the dishes. Technician came out and couldn't understand why so he said it must be fine. He suggested throwing a cup of coffee in the machine to "trick" the auto sensor into thinking it needs to do a heavy wash and that would wash the dishes. Did that,… Read more
still didn't work (obviously) so then I waited another few days for the same tech to arrive again, he still couldn't work out why it wasn't washing as no fault codes came up in his test. He suggested we replace each part within the dishwasher until it worked! I blasted Fisher and Paykel and demanded for another one to be deliverd, waited another week. New machine delivered today but doesn't work!! It's set to "Factory Test" mode and can't be cleared. Despite HOURS on the phone to various Fisher & Paykel people, including technicians who were testing one in their factory aswell (although there's worked), they couldn't understand why mine was in Factory Mode and wouldn't return to normal mode. By this stage I'd had enough, I've been without a dishwasher for 3 weeks now (despite have 2 new ones delivered) so this afternoon I went back to the store where I bought it from and with store credit I bought a Miele instead and paid the difference. Fisher & Paykel are collecting their two faulty brand new dishwashers from my kitchen tomorrow! I will NEVER buy Fisher & Paykel again!!! Do not buy!! Looks good, but that's it! Doesn't work!
Excellent – Love it so far. Previously had a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher, which wasn't the dearest at the time of purchase, and it lasted 14 years. Picked this one up at a great price and held our breath hoping for a quiet wash on first start up. INCREDIBLE! If my wife is happy, I'm happy. Looks great, super quiet and it even appears to clean the dishes!!! … Read more
Nice solid feeling door which is well weighted. Not the fastest washer (slower than the old one), but if you can't hear it, who cares? We are able to run this after evening meal whilst sitting nearby watching TV, and it can hardly be heard.

It's hardly the dishwasher's fault that you were sold the wrong model is it.
