  Stirling 1.5L Blender

Just stopped working. The light is on but not working – I purchased this blender less than 3 years ago and it still looks like new. Went to use it before Christmas and wouldn't work. Power is on but nothing happened. Contacted the company but as I can't locate my receipt so no go. Just another piece of rubbish to go into land fill.

Very disappointed – Used the product 3or4 times.Placed fruit in the jug to blend, turned it on and a burning smell came from the motor. Will not run. Very disappointed. It's very hard to return an item to an Aldi store because the only person available is a checkout person and they are serving a line of customers. Show details

Glass jug cracked whilst in use – I purchased the blender in March 2018, have used it rarely and in June 2019, whilst blending some hot soup, the jug cracked from top to bottom. Luckily no liquid was spilled and no one was injured. I have just read a review from someone who stated they had the exact same problem in April. Have never been able to remove the jug from the base to clean it properly either so won't be purchasing another one! Show details

Inferior Product – I purchased the Ambiano 1.5L Blender in March 2018 from Aldi and in April 2019 (one month out of the twelve month warranty) whilst blending pesto sauce, we heard a loud explosion and discovered the glass jug had cracked in one corner. We have used the Blender on no more that six occasions in total and found it to be extremely noisy, did not blend… Read more

well and at times we could not remove the glass jug from the base without a struggle. I phoned the After Sales Support line (1300 777 137) to report what I considered to be a safety issue with the glass jug cracking whilst in use and was told by the service assistant that I spoke to that they have never had this issue reported and I could get pricing to purchase a replacement jug. I declined that offer of pricing as I would rather purchase a much more expensive blender that doesn't have the problems we encountered and the safety issue of the glass cracking.

Great blender at a greater price – This blender does such a great job. It has had a huge amount if use in our household from smoothies to snowcones for the kids. Its mighty powerful and super easy to clean. Purchased from Aldi for $24.99. Also comes with a good amount of accessories and recipes. Show details

Great smoothies – Blends really well no chunks. We only use this for smoothies and it's perfect. Easy to clean and durable. Simple to use with a large glass jug. Would definitely recommend.  Show details

Wonder Jar! – I like that this blender has the power switch in the back too. The jar is very easy to clean because it's square. I like this design a lot better than other brands because I hate having to take apart the jar to clean it thoroughly. I haven't used the other features on the blender but for a first try, it worked perfectly. For a refurbished unit,… Read more

there's nothing cosmetically wrong with it. It looks like a brand new model. The jar and lid are brand new but the base is not. I attached pictures of the blade and stopper for the lid. I like that the lid opening is small enough to drop ice cubes or oil or whatever, without taking off the lid.

Still works well – Usually the problem with cheap blenders are the product quality. I've never had a cheap blend that didn't blend so I am solely basing my reading on product quality and so far it still works like a charm. Although I tend to shake my blender around a lot to make cauliflower rice and the blender has stopped locking in properly but that's probably my fault for using it so aggressively.  Show details

Not a good buy – I thought that I had purchased a good item from Aldi motor blew 2nd time I used it same with the hand held vacuum cleaner now I am a bit concerned about the other electrical items purchased from them. should have gone the extra few dollars and purchased a well known brands from elsewhere. Aldi have lost my business for good.

  Verified Lumina Multi-Purpose 1.5L Blender

Poor design – The version I bought a few months ago (Lumina Multi-Purpose Blender) has a large plastic vessel and a smaller plastic one that they say can crush ice. The smaller one has very thin flanges inside that are essential to push up the safety switch - they break off easily, especially with the first spin of the blades if the unit isn't held very tight… Read more

and that's not easy as the spin speed is too high and should be adjustable.

Also, both vessels have tiny crevices that are very hard to clean without manually getting into the corners with a toothbrush.

Make a smoothie in the larger jar and it's likely to spill through the badly fitting lid.

Wouldn't buy again.

Dirt Cheap Blender – $19 for a blender. Can't really sniff at that. Glass jug should last a while. The only reason it gets 4 stars as when i pulled it apart the motor is tiny, and has very small diameter wire windings. Translated - this will let the smoke out in a big hurry if its overloaded. And as per manual, not for crushing ice. So as a light duty blender @ $19 can't really beat it.

not good at all would not buy this item if i had a chance again first few times then it wouldnt work – Blender stopped working after using it for the first few times. I found that the safety pin under the jug would not click in to allow it to work. it wasnt worth taking it back as i disposed of the box it came in. after some time of sitting in the cupboard i tried to fix it and i manufactured a simple spring to make the pin slip into the slot to release the safety and it seems to work ok now.

Sharp Blade warning should be blunt blade warning – I bought this yesterday to make crushed ice drinks. Figured I couldn't go wrong with a blender that had an " Ice " button. For all the warnings about not touching the blades because they were sharp, I almost believe they gave it so you don't find out there are no sharp blades. All on mine were totally blunt and smooth. Needless to say it doesn't… Read more

crush ice. I can't fathom how it could pulverise anything really and am sure that is why some other people have posted that their machines overheat to smoking point. Please be careful if testing your own blades, I am only sure that mine are blunt. Dear Milli111 even without a receipt the retailer is required to replace an item that is not fit for purpose. That is law, in Australia anyway.

Motor Burnt Out – Absolutely useless blender, motor blew first time I used it. A friend purchased it from Aldi for me, I live on an Island so difficult to get there to return so posted it back. Since learn't Aldi doesn't accept post returns so have not only lost price of blender but postage as well. Shame on you Retro for not letting me send it direct to you.

Easy to use & clean – Haven't had a problem with mine. Bought it because I refuse to pay a lot of money for name brands that do exactly the same thing. Does what it says it will do. No hassles operating or cleaning it. The orice I paid for it, if it stops working it doesn't matter. Easy to use & clean  Show details

Terrible – This is one of those impulse buys... before you do your research. I bought a red one from Aldi. It doesn't crush ice or even crush bananas for smoothies. I would recommend to anyone not to waste your money. It looks good, but doesn't do the job it's meant to! The colour Absolutely everything!
