OK – I have rather moderate opinion about that unit. I have been using it intensively (by recording around 2 discs per day) and the device lastet a bit longer than a year. Potential user should also be aware that allthough the recording mode flexibility is, I would say, amazing, a play lists creation may became problematic. There is no possibility to merge fragments of recorded item under one title. Nice view, easy to use Fails after around a year of intensive use

Bad – Because of the seperate small display and remote control receiver it is a very nice system if you want to store the unit behind a door. Buy a universal remote control unit like the Logitech Harmony 525 and don't use it to store your Music. Nice looks. Bad software. Worse remote control.

Excellent – this unit is a gret step up form my older pioneer dvd recorder. i purchased this product die to teh qualtity brand that you can trust and was a little more expensive than the other brands but it was unique and i loved the divx feature. that is one of the main reasons why i purchased the product. the other reason and in compariosn to the other brands was that it had a large 250gb harddrive that was teh biggest you could get. it still does the job todays it is a great device and will last for many years to come. i dont know why should i upgrade in teh future when this device meets all my needs and expectation. very happy with the unit and makes tv reception much clearer and recording at high quality will not fill up the harddrive space dramatically due to its large size. it is very easy to use and navigate through menu and there are so many features you can tweak to improve your experience. very high speed recording and copying. excelelnt picture and dvd playback. plays divx movies! would have liked HDMI but it was not a standard in 2006
