Pros:
The layout of the store is really user friendly, each section has rooms set up for you to view and get ideas from - you can get such great inspiration for your home spending a few hours wandering around.
Cons:
Busy with people at school holiday times.
Overall:
We love a great day out at Ikea to plan rennovations, redecorating, sort out storage options, and the prices are so cheap compared to other places! I don't mind putting together a bookshelf if the price is half of other stores. Their items are so modern, fashionable and practical!
Pros:
great design at a great price
Large range of furniture and accessories
Web site is great to create shopping lists and check availability before you go into the store - helps to make the shopping experience much easier
Cons:
it is a mission to go - lots of people, often difficult to find a park and nearly impossible to go with children.
Although low staff numbers help keep prces down, customer service is lacking and it reallyis a "help yourself" shop
Overall:
Love IKEA, but best to be fully prepared when going there as to what you need. Then you can get that done and focus on all the extra temptations they have - the what you want stuff!
Cons:
They often sell out of the good stuff and take some time to get it back in stock. This is a big hassle when you're trying to do a kitchen or bathroom.
Overall:
Nearly all my furniture is from Ikea. I have had most of it for a few years and it has lasted very well. I also work with children where there is plenty of ikea furniture but this doesn't hold up so well. I think this is partly because it is used much more that anything in a home and probably wasn't built as well.
