Purchased the car in October 2002. The car has been very reliable and excellent build quality. Comfortable seats. It feels solid and quiet inside. I have driven a Golf at 200kph on a German autobahn and the handling was impressive. The interior is classy. Even though we chose beige interior, the interior still looks new. I like the look of the Golf. Surprisingly big inside

The rear light bulb blew out during the second year. Volkswagen Centre in Chatswood tried to blame my driving style. Hmmm. Minor thing. The handling of the Golf at over 100kph in Australian winding country roads is not that good. It is built for the city or German autobahns.

For AUD32,000 drive away we got a 2.0 engine, auto, cruise control and an excellent car. Good value for money, compared to the Honda Civic, Toyotal Corolla or Aud A3. Easy on fuel and low maitnenance.
