Age & Stage
Most baby formula manufacturers' group their formulas by ages and stages, usually numbering them from 1 - 3, and sometimes 4. Here's a quick breakdown of what you can expect with each stage, although the age ranges may vary between brands.
Stage 1 - Formulas suitable for infants from birth, usually 0-6 months.
Stage 2 - Follow-on formulas suitable for babies who are 6+ months, usually 6-12 months.
Stage 3 - Formulas for toddlers aged 1 year and over.
Stage 4 - Formulas for toddlers aged 2 years and over. Most infant formulas only have 3 stages, in which case Stage 3 formula is fine for toddlers 2 years and over.
Speciality - If you have a sensitive or special needs baby, these baby formulas are specifically targeted to help with allergies or conditions such as colic, reflux, lactose intolerance, diarrhoea and constipation.
