Kawasaki KLR650
Budget bush basher – Well, its time to update my review of the gen 2 klr650. Mine is still going strong. After nine years it now has 107,000km on the clock! Yep. That's… Read more
right, 107,000km. No oil burning. No "Doo hickey" modification. No power pipe. No carby mods. No air box mods. Totally stock and original. I use Castro 4t oil. Do the air cleaner often since 80% of my riding is on dirt. Yep, it's still a heavy pig. It's still awkwardly tall. The brakes are still very average. It always has at least one thing that needs fixing, and it's still put to shame by the average 250 for power. But.........after the zombie apocalypse, the cockroaches will emerge from the smouldering ashes riding a klr650! They won't be breaking any records, but it will keep on running. Cheap to buy. Easy to work on. Parts are readily availble along with a huge range of aftermarket farkles in every price range. I'll be keeping mine for a while yet I reckon
Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom
I bought a vulcan 900 classic in 2025 i hate it is should have waited but the dealer would not let me take it on a test run . If I had i would have… Read more
walked away. It needs a sixth gear to get to normal interstate speeds of 70mph. Slight vibration i. The handle bars when getting above 60mph. I prefer my Harley because it has the 103 and I can easily cruise the interstate at 70 or higher with no issues. I have the vulcan for sale but request my payoff it only has 50 miles on the odometer because I drove from the dealership and parked it and never drove it again. It is garaged and I start it once a month to keep parts lubricated. I rather have a Harley or Indian at least they were designed right
Kawasaki Ninja 650
At last found my perfect bike at 79 – Didn't get my licence until I was 72 and started on a Yamaha VStar 950, too big! Then sized down to a Kawasaki 650 Vulcan S. Good for touring but… Read more
wanted something a bit more flexible for tackling the twisties with my mates. From there to a Yamaha MT03. Loved it ! great little bike with plenty of get up and go with excellent handling but not so comfortable on long distance touring. At a mates suggestion test drove the Ninja 650 and traded in the MT03 the same day for the 2021 model. Just done 500 klms but already over the moon with the handling in the twisties and cruising at highway speeds. Already convinced that this is the one for me.
Kawasaki Versys 1000
I’m loving this bike – I have put just over 500km on the bike in 3 long solo rides. Starting with the controls, they’re simple and easy to learn. The mode select function… Read more
is good and is used when stationary in neutral. The display is great, with day and night selectable on the move. The mode 1 and 2 displays are well set up and easily readable. Bike handling is excellent: I’m an enduro rider and this bike points like my WR450, razor sharp. You could do a MOST test on this and nail all the bendy bits. The bike cruises beautifully, I’m having a ball on it. I came off a XT660 X super mortard and this bike relates to it in handling but is so much more stable in cruise. Braking is strong with double calipers on big discs. Stability control via traction and ABS is great, I live on a dirt road and have been using RAIN mode at 80kph easily. Cruise control is just like a car, simple. I like the ability to cancel cruise by twisting the throttle forward a little, simple. The finish of the bike plastics etc is fantastic, it looks sharp and looks like it rides - fast! The seating is super comfy, my wife loves it. I’ll add a lambs wool cover for very long touring trips as well as a set of SHAD panniers. I would recommend this bike to someone after a sports tourer, I’m mid 50’s and love it.
Kawasaki Vulcan S
2018 Vulcan S – Have had the bike for a couple of years now. It looks good (orange and black duco). Is reliable and a great transport for short distances. The only… Read more
negatives are an uncomfortable seat and gearing is too low which means high revs at freeway speeds. On the whole, I am glad I bought it instead of the 883 Harley.
Kawasaki W800
It does not fail in any area and delivers in all – Kawasaki delivers on it's intended purpose, a modern golden oldie. The closest comparison probably an 850 Norton. Handling is solid and good enough.… Read more
Performance is as expected but with more low rpm torque than expected. Brakes. Progressive with good feel and power. Riding position near perfect (pegs 25mm forward ) Seat comfort very good even after 5 hours riding. Vibrations, well probably best described as pulsations. No numb fingers. Headlight good in spread and range. Love the twin analogue instruments. If one wanted to be picky, the rear shocks could have more damping, compressive & rebound, but ARE not an issue. For the market/owner Kawasaki targeted, they have in my opinion "nailed" it. If your used to sports/cruiser/adventure bikes this will be different. Just a nice, nice, machine.
torque, style and a fuel eater – Had my z1000 2012 model now for 3 years. The same motor as the ZX10R but tuned for torque, this bike is an animal. I am 78 kg and thought the bike is… Read more
240kg the design means it is not heavy at all. the seat height is low and the bars are comfortable enough to ride all day.

grip in the wet, so much so i lost grip on the front at 100ks an hour and into freeway wires etc and nearly killed me, wrote the bike off, got the new 2021 model. Grey/white, through insurance, same vibrating issue, changed the tyres with a balance, still vibrate, changed the risers and bars, still vibrate, put in for repairs and look over at a very good racing mechanics shop, checked all bearings , steering etc, to no avail, told me it may be a design fault. The rest of the bike is great, great brakes, great looks, a little uncomfortable for long rides, how ever put on 2 inches off accoustic foam and a seat cover, can ride for 3 hours without a break, just don't let go of the handle bars at all.
Fun bike, but other 250's are better. 2007 Modal – Good on fuel. Easy to maintain and like any bike lots of fun to own. :) But it was always a pain to start on cold starts, my mates owned a 2006… Read more
and 2009 KLX250's, both of theirs didn't like to start too when cold, which was a pain when you work late shifts and trying to start your bike at 1am in the morning and all you want to do is go home and sleep. :s
I sold it and bought a DRZ 400, it is just as reliably as the klx, a little bit heavier, but the power of the DRZ and the fact it always starts in Really cold or hot weather is a deal breaker.
Would i buy another? Nah, I'd look at other makes before going KLX 250 again. But in saying that, if you don't have the money for other makes, the KLX250 is a cheap bike for the money, i paid $1,700 with rego.

000 CAD more. Doing a cost benefit analysis I wasn't convinced it was worth the extra $$. I wasn't particularly interested in a Gold Wing since it was so smooth when I tried it, I didn't feel like I was riding a bike (we're all different). Following the purchase there were two small issues, the chrome piece over the tank caused a squeak which I fixed. Second, the chrome from the handle bars/speakers/clutch/brake reflected on the windshied and into my eyes. I actually painted them over with plasti dip paint (removable) which resolved the issue. I purchased the kawasaki gel seat (firmer) and heated grips. The ABS is quite effective as well, had to use it after being cut off.

engine loves to rev & bit jerky on low gears. seat is comfy for rider as well as pillion passenger. Only issue I have found is the snappy/jumpy Throttle ( ECU flash might help, however, might void the warranty) and is not cheap to do) Other one is the seat height, I'm 5'8' ..and I'm tipping toeing. might be a problem for shorter riders. Definitely not for Learner riders. * doesn't come with grab rail so sometimes its hard while getting out of parking.
I hope this helps
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R

covering) quality leavers that I find more comfortable, I can help myself been a spraypainter by trade I will respray the bodywork and wheels add better exhaust system (titanium muffler that will not burn a pillions leg even after track riding) . 2 eg photos me doing a burnout 40 years ago and my ZX-10R 2005 model that I own today. My ZX10 is not for beginners or intermediate riders, this bike requires complete smoothness from the throttle and clutch control mixed with braking and body positioning that will not cause undue shifting to the bikes geometry or you could find yourself running wide or even out of road! ( no ABS, traction control, or other modes like city or weather options ) It can reach a speed of 160km in 1st gear so it is more of a weapon! But I love it.
Kawasaki Stockman
I move the bike. It had no problem when I got one. It get the job done better then all my other bikes – The best farm bike in my opinion. It really fun and get the job done better then all my other bikes what I own. It had no problem sicken I get it used off a mate. Show details

up brand new for $6,299 including on road costs. Great price however in terms of bike selection I didnt really have another choice in that price bracket. There was a big jump in price from this bike - the next one up was 11k.
ENGINE
The engine is great. For a 400 - there is adequate power and accelaration. I have an Akrapovic slip-on exhaust which I feel is a must - sounds great and drivers can hear you coming! Not too loud but just right. Engine temp hovers at close to high, but so far, everytime it hits 5/6 bars the cooler fan kicks in and lowers it to 3/6 or 4/6 bars.
HANDLING
Handling is great - bike is very light and all manouverability & cornering is effortless. Throttle is slightly jumpy but you get used to it. Clutch (or "slipper clutch") is very easy & smooth.
COMFORT
Comfort is great. I dont know why manufacturers can't make more comfortable seats across the board. I know it's not a cruiser, but its not a sports bike either. Your position is almost upright so why can't they have a comfort seat as an option? Foot brake & gear shifter are movable which is great; as the stock position was uncomfortable for my ankle. However there is only a small allowance.
DASH
The dash is great with everything you need on there. Would have been a nice extra to have a temperature reading on there as well.
FUEL
Fuel consumption is good as well. I can fill up (14l) for around $18-$20 and a full tank gets me around 320-330 km.
ACCESSORIES
As this is brand new model, there are limited accessories available at this stage. The front visor is short which means more wind hitting you, and the only alternative visor seems too long - would have been great to have another option which is just 2-3cm higher than the stock visor. Radiator guard is a must and you can pick up a nice one off ebay for $30. I also got the helmet lock which suits helmets with a D chain. I ended up buying the shark skwal helmet which doesn't have a D latch so it's very tricky to latch the helmet in the lock.
STORAGE
Clearly no storage. There is a TINY spot underneath the seats but it wouldnt even close with my wallet in there so that was pointless. I dont like the look of top boxes (although handy) so i just ride with a backpack. Speaking of which - its very tricky trying to lock the passenger seat without slamming it down hard.
APPEARANCE
Looks great! two colour options of green & red (with black). Would have been nice to have a matt green instead.
CONCLUSION
A great bike - especially for a beginner! Highly recommended!

Kawasaki Elektrode

grandkids took to it straight away and after a few hours were very confident with throttle control and braking. They soon started standing up, weaving between obstacle course and having a ball. There is a tricky system to alter the three speed settings. Probably only able to be done by an adult or teenager which makes it much safer. We have not yet progressed past the slowest speed but not far off increasing it. Not sure how long the battery lasts but has not yet run out whilst the kids have been using it. Great product and worthwhile. Probably hold its value when we upgrade to a larger bike or petrol power.
