But, for the variable trigger, totally worth it yeah? Nah... Not even a little! It has a lock button, that you have to press, every... darn... time... you want to blend, it has maybe 1/2 a second grace period, absolute insanity!!! So when you're checking the stiffness of your peaks, you need to stop, hold the top lock button, then start again. The MAIN reason I got this was for one handed operation with the variable trigger, then they put a stupid lock button on it! UGH... One last swipe... It also has a stupidly short cord... is copper REALLY that expensive? I use my stick mixer almost daily, and will tolerate this for now. Having a deeper dive I found the NutriBullet Immersion Blend & Whisk Set, for 1/3 the price you get a blender and a whisk attachment, none of the other junk! It only has two speeds, but also has a variable setting to change what those speeds are. I'm thinking of buying it and gifting this to my sister.

blade seems to have corrected many issues with blenders such as the Bamix. Some of the improvements include smooth blend, not leaving any lumps, super quiet, super quick, incredibly powerful, no spray/splash, is dishwasher safe and a 2 year warranty to boot! One of the best benefits with the Russell Hobbs 3-in-1 Hand Blender is that it eliminates the need to have three individual appliances stored in your kitchen. The Russell Hobbs hand blender has two speeds and the quick speed is much better than you will expect. In fact, you will probably assume this blender can't do certain things until you try them for yourself. My wife loves how when you use the Russell Hobbs to blend drinks with sugar and honey it leaves no sediment/lumps collecting at the bottom. With a bullet type blender the heavier items like sugar and honey will just sit at the bottom and not blend into the drink. The Russell Hobbs design over the blade ensures that everything is sucked in and blended in super quick time. Blending smoothies with ice is super super quick and very quiet. It only takes a few seconds and you honestly won't believe the drink is finished blending, when in fact it has. The super speed blending is helped by the 500W motor which spins at 12,000rpm. This level of power is incredibly good. We often make crepes in a large mixing bowl and with old style blenders, when you try and bring the blade towards the surface to eliminate any lumps you can easily end up with mixture sprayed all over yourself or the kitchen walls. With the Russell Hobbs hand blender, even when you try and spray the mixture, it is almost impossible. Even though there are two speeds to the blender we usually use the fast one. In the past we would use the slow one to stop splash/spray but that really isn't an issue with the Russell Hobbs blender. The Russell Hobbs hand blender produces food that is super smooth and will do a great job with things like mashed potatoes and pumpkin soup. It is also great at blending any sort of baby food you might imagine. The whisk is a great addition and super helpful when mixing eggs, cream etc. The blender/mixing cup is also very useful and absolutely no spray comes out when using this for a variety of things, including smoothies. The Russell Hobbs hand blade and the design over it somehow keep all the contents pushing down rather than spraying all over the place like my old Bamix. The Russell Hobbs mini chopper is fantastic and can be used for all sorts chopping, whether it be something as soft as herbs or crushing ice for a cold slurpee type drink for the kids. The chopping bowl even comes with a non slip base that easily comes off and doubles as a lid for the same chopping bowl. The lid seals air tight. The one negative with the chopper is that you need to line the parts up to begin chopping. It is not difficult but it is worth noting it doesn't line up automatically and you need to look when doing it. The Russell Hobbs Desire 3-in-1 Hand Blender is super easy to clean as all the parts disconnect from the motor and are dishwasher safe. That said, all the parts are super easy to clean so either way life is much easier. To cap it all off, the blender comes with a 2 year warranty. Overall, we love our Russell Hobbs Desire 3-in-1 hand blender. It will hopefully be our family hand blender for the next 10 to 20 years.Bamix Mono

From vegetables and some fresh herbs to a mixture of dates and nuts, it doesn’t mix well. There is always something wrong. The machine is dependent so much in a specific amount and consistency of food in it or else it doesn’t work. Simply doesn’t mix. It spins but doesn’t mix or cut anything. Opening it is always with two movements instead of one. If you didn’t have to open it 50 times for a simple falafel mixture, fine, but I literally have to open it and hand mix it 50 times. Or about nut’s paste , only the small container works with nuts. which is really small. I used to mix my walnuts with an awfully cheap blender into a smooth paste in ONE go!!!!! But here I have to not only make my mixture in 10 parts, but also shake the machine in awkward ways to make everything mixed well. The reason is that the blade is flat which should have been slightly tilted . The basic mixer works ok with the soup. Although, the cheapest mixers out there might work better. Because they create a tornado. Its not much about power when it comes to overcooked vegetables. It’s like you’ve put so much effort on the power of the machine which is without a doubt very high, but not enough on the design!!! I mean honestly, I love the machine because of the high school quality, but I truly and sadly hate it too.

after only a few months and we figured we didn't use it that often and as such wasn't worth fixing. Now the blender is 2.5 years old and smoke started pouring out of it making a smoothie. I rang Bamix and was told to take it to a service centre where they advised me it would be $35 dollars to look at it and then depending on the problem possibly a further cost to repair it. So I rang Bamix back and they told me they would pass on the issue to which I received a call from the CEO advising me that if I didn't pay the $35 there was nothing they could do!!! This appliance barely gets used in our house and now it will be going in the bin!!!!! Not fit for purpose!KitchenAid Artisan Deluxe KHB2569

Read morehe surface of whatever item your blender may be used in, I didn't think of it at the time but a tough plastic foot on the blender shaft would have been a better choice for household use. AND the power cord is stiff way too short, you virtually have to be working right in front of the power outlet to use the item unless without having to attached a power extension cord. Really bad design flaw there. For the money, it's not too bad, but room for improvement.

quealing noise is the warning sound it's on it's way out (I even defrost the frozen fruit to prolong the life of the blender). Twice the top half has been a problem; once the rubber cover over one of the buttons broke plus the product started squealing and I knew it was on its way out (because I kept the receipt this time it was replaced for free). On my current one only the bottom button works, the top button stopped working in less than six months. As I have moved it is not convenient to exchange it this time. So when this one dies I am not buying another one. The other issue is that it gets food residue on the inside of the bottom half where the blade rotates. It is extremely difficult to clean even with hot soapy water, soaked and well shaken, the barrel is too narrow to get a cleaning brush in to it. I persisted with this product because it works so well but there are a lot of draw backs.Panasonic MX-SS1

I've used it mainly to blend soups, mash and also made some dips with no issues. I've hardly had to charge it but would've been great to have a more common charging cord like the usb-c, just so you are not hanging on to another charger. It doesn't come with an actual variable speed dial, its just a power button and you continuously hold down to blend but this isn't an issue for me. Im very happy with my purchase.

Tried out unit and found it only makes plain old milkshakes - tried to make a thick shakes with ice cream but it wouldn't blend it properly. Most disappointed, I have a blender that can give me the same outcome. I sent an email to Joyce Mayne, who answered straight away and referred me to South Nowra branch, where I have not got a good response. Top it off, inside the box was a special buy brochure, to purchase extra milkshake cups only problem the offer expired in Dec 2015. So is my expensive unit over 6 years old. Anyway my grandson isn't so fussy as me. Expensive lesson to learn.

Controls need very strong touch and only work when this is done at a particular angle.
Mixer attachment difficult to control, sucks and sticks to bottom of vessel and comes off with liquid going everywhere, even on very low.
Consider it dangerous to use.
