Stay away from this one! – As a commercial cleaner, I was looking for a dependable and efficient upright vacuum cleaner. I got taken in by the slick marketing by SEBO: their… Read more
video on YouTube is highly persuasive! I checked out various reviews as well, but did not get a clear mandate. Giving it the benefit of the doubt, and acknowledging the generally accepted superior reputation of German products, I bought a SEBO Dart 2, preferring it over the Australian Tennant. Wrong decision! The machine is OK for domestic cleaning, but certainly not for commercial work. There were several problems:
(a) its cord was far shorter than regular backpacks, necessitating an extension cord;
(b) it could not suck anything more than about half a centimetre cube - its opening was simply not big enough;
(c) It sucked in from the right hand end but not from the left;
(d) the suction power was poor (I kept the machine very clean, emptying the bag before every job and following all instructions);
(d) its much touted orange and green lights that were to indicate right height of the machine vis-a-vis the carpet/floor was unhelpful;
(e) Withing a month both orange and green lights remained on simultaneously anyway, so they were useless;
(f) the machine died just after 1 year was over, i.e., immediately after the guarantee period ran out.
I can go on, but you get the drift!
Bottom line - stay away from this machine. The humble back-pack is superior, and at half the price too!
