Dewalt 54V Flexvolt Brushless Grass Trimmer & Brushcutter DCM571X1-XE
Cuts well but line keeps jammingI have a DCM5712xe string trimmer 54v . As a senior person at first i found it too tall and awkward and the crossbar handle catches in wire fences etc. When its working its great and it has to deal w…ith some tough weeds on our block. My trouble is the line which is difficult to wind on and it seems to either jam or pull the whole lot out. I have tried dewalt brand line and a generic line, i seem to waste so much line and get sick of rewinding the line. Love it being battery. |
Black & Decker 2 in 1 Multipower Pet CUA525BHP
DisappointingAfter reading several online reviews I purchased this machine last week. I wanted something to do quick cleans in between regular vacuums as we have two dogs in the house and one loses huge amounts of… hair. It is mainly used on a tiled floor. First use was okay but not as good as the stick vac I used to have (could not afford a new one of those). Today I went to vacuum and found it wasn't sucking up much at all. Looked at the dust bowl/canister and it was almost empty so I increased the suction but still not much being picked up. I FINALLY noticed it had a red light blinking on the control panel and on closer inspection I found the hose on the side of the cleaner was totally blocked. I could not find any large items or sticks etc that may have led to the blockage, just dust and hair. I think the hose fitting is a weak point and reduces the suction of the machine. I tried using it as a portable unit with the attachment on the hose and found the suction is pretty poor. Static electricity causes the dog hair and dust to stick to every part of the cleaner and cleaning the unit takes a bit of time. I ended up using my big vacuum cleaner to get all the dust out of the dust canister and filters. I can understand emptying it every time its used but I don"t want to wash the filters every time I use it. And if you have someone with long hair in the house their hair wraps itself in and around the outside edges of the roller bar and is a pain to remove (I ended up using a quick pick).
So for me its too fiddly with so many bits to pull apart AND get back together again when emptying and cleaning it. Suction is not as good as I had hoped for and I hope the blocked hose doesn't become a regular issue. |
Subaru Forester S4 2.5i-S
Nice vehicle to driveThis is my second Forester (both purchased new). Its nice and easy to drive and I love the "seeing eye" cruise control on the highway, it made it so easy to follow a vehicle whos speed I was comforta…ble with. The CVT transmission system is a bit slow when first taking off but it performs way better than my old automatic did on steep hills. It has lots of bells and whistles (some I have never used) and so far I am very happy with the driving experience.
The seats are not as comfortable as my old one on a long trip and maybe a little less height in the cargo area (floor is raised up higher than the old one).
I had my first Forester for 9 years and did over 250,000 ks without any mechanical problems. So I am hoping this one will prove to be just as reliable.
Subaru Services can be expensive.

Canon Pixma MG5765
Noisy and awkward paper trayHad a Canon Pixma which has been great but error code came up and that was that, old one seemed nice and solid and a better design than this one. I Purchased a printer that looked similar in the hope …that the set up had not changed too much. The tray and paper set up are awkward compared to the previous Pixma I had. Only a cheap printer - I was hoping the 5 unused ink cartridges I had would fit the new one but no such luck.
Cartridges more expensive than the printer.
Prints well but rattles and makes a lot of noise.

KitchenAid KFPM770
MessyLooks great and chops meat well but thats about it. I had a smaller cheap processor and thought I would buy something that would hold more liquid/mix. Found that the KitchenAid processor didnt hold …as much as I believed it would, it leaks out over the low centre wall of the bowl. But the worst problem is that the bowl and the lid dont seem to join well and so when its turned on the liquid or the biscuit crumbs especially just fly up and out between the bowl and the lid. I was using it the other day to mix some dates and water together and the liquid just flew up and out the join and then when I took the lid off to pour out the mixture it ran down the sides of the bowl and all over the place. For the price I expected a much better product.
