Westinghouse WSF6606X (Stainless Steel)
Verified Great layout, capacity and capabilitiesDishwasher is really easy to use. It’s laid out really well, with separate areas on the bottom level for dinner plates, bread plates and bowls. As well as a lot of room on the top rack for glasses. Th…e top rack is also adjustable in terms of its height.
The only negative so far is that the normal cycle takes over 2 hours to run.

Fitbit Versa
Verified Good for the priceThe Versa is my 4th Fitbit. I bought this one as a result of losing my Ionic (grrrr). The only difference I’ve noticed is the gps feeds from your phone rather than being built in. I don’t use it for m…usic or apps though, purely for fitness tracking. Sometimes the Bluetooth connection between your phone and Fitbit drops out, so you don’t get notifications, but it’s pretty simple to re-pair them.
Overall, good for the price point.

Smeg ECF01CRAU (Cream)
Verified Great coffee with limitationsThis machine produces great coffee with a strong crema. The water tank size holds atleast a litre so you’re not having to fill it up all the time. The machine looks great sitting on the bench and rece…ives many positive comments.
The negatives:
- The steam wand is very short. Make sure you only buy a small milk jug (I think mine is a 400ml capacity) or the wand won’t reach the milk.
- A normal size cup won’t fit under the group unless you remove the base. Even with the base removed, my 16oz keep cup won’t fit unless I put it on an angle which means I have to stand there and hold it.
- Sometimes, it can be a struggle to get the group back in. I have to run a cycle of hot water before it’ll slot back in.
I got mine half price which is good because I don’t think it’s worth the full RRP. Good machine, but better ones out there for that price point.

Neato Botvac DC00
My new favourite applianceMy Neato is a godsent. My home has floorboards, carpet and tiles and the Neato is great for all of them. It maps the house out and manouvres its way around furniture with ease. When it needs to rechar…ge, it makes it’s way back to the dock, charges, then picks up where it left off to finish the clean.
The dirt bin is quite small, but if you set it to run every day, I find that it’s big enough to do the house. I have 2 Labradors who drop A LOT of hair and it picks up after them well. I still use my Dyson vacuum on the carpet, but only once a week and that’s only for a deep clean to pick up all the dog hair. If you don’t have pets that drop hair, the Neato would probably be fine on it’s own.
The only thing that’s missing is the ability to set zones for cleaning specific areas rather than the whole house. I believe this is available on the more expensive models.
I set it to run each day when the house is empty and it’s so nice to come home to clean floors. The app works well to schedule cleans, or you can open it from anywhere and start the vacuum cleaning (as long as the vacuum is connected to your home WiFi)
Just beware of cords that hang down (eg phone chargers that aren’t being used) as they sometimes get caught up in the vacuum and it stops. It’s easy to fix, just a pain if you’re not home.
This is my first robot vacuum and I am definitely converted to this way of life!

Henley
Verified Do Not Build With Henley Without Fixed Site CostsI wasted 4 months trying to build with this useless company to then get stung right at the end, forcing me to start over with another builder. Let me explain. My first consultations were great. Sa… les staff seemed knowledgeable and nothing was too much hassle. Then it got passed over to administration and the downhill slide began. For example, I'd asked to add a shower rose to my ensuite to have one coming from the roof and one on the wall. There was a lot of tooing and froing, and was quoted prices differing by hundreds of dollars. It took 6 weeks (I kid you not) to get this simple request sorted. Or so I thought. I arrived at my tender appt to find they had 2 overheads and 2 on the wall. All in the one shower. This was just one of over 20 problems that I identified in my tender document. Then came site costs. Sales said they wouldn't give me fixed site costs and it would be confirmed at contract (conveniently right at the end of the process). I gave them the slope of my block and asked for an estimate (obviously for budgeting purposes for upgrades etc that I wanted to add). She said I'd be looking at around $25,000. So I allowed $35,000 just in case. Imagine my surprise when I get my official site costs (right at the very end of the process, after picking colours etc) and it is nearly double that amount. I immediately queried it, to be basically told that's just how much it costs. I kept pushing for an answer and got passed from person to person. The answers I got varied. First of all, it was 'that was just a ballpark figure' to which I replied 'ballpark figures shouldn't double without explanation' then got 'but we didn't have the soil tests back then' to which I asked to them to highlight the area of the soil test that had caused the blowout (no rock or the like located), which the reply was 'oh but it's the slope of your block' which clearly hasn't changed since the estimate was given. I was given a lot of excuses such as - The sales person isn't an engineer, she isn't qualified to give that information (so was the $25,000 just pulled out of thin air?) - We've identified this as an error in our processes and have put steps in place to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else (all well and good but how does that help me) - You used that figure during your budgeting at your own risk (ummmm what else would you suggest I do?) I was not disputing the works required, I'm not an engineer. But the increased site costs were due to works required owing to the slope of the block, which clearly hadn't changed since sales based their estimate on the slope and location. During my tender appointment, the staff member stated that if any of these allowances are insufficient and I need to pay more, I'm entitled to see the tradesman's invoices to see where the money went. She then added 'just bear in mind that Henley add a builders margin of about 30% on top of any invoice'. With this in mind, I said to Henley that as they were admitting that this was solely their mistake and shouldn't have happened, to meet me half way between their estimate and their final figure given. They outright refused, basically accusing me of lying about what I'd been told by Henley representatives. Their management try to talk you around in circles, attempting to confuse you by repeating the same information over and not actually answering your questions or concerns. The only explanation I can think of for their actions, is that they count on people not wanting to start the process over again and paying the same extra money. |
