Verified Seems solid so far 1 month in - noisier than expectedWriting this review now to engage two extra years warranty on the tank (goes from 5 to 7 years). Though there is very low risk of tanks rusting through before 10 years, this seems a token warranty an…d not a practical warranty, I am going for the 2 extra years anyway. Feeling this is an ingenue way to encourage reviews, because many people may be reviewing just for that reason without having much time with the product yet.
So far, it seems like a solid unit, but it’s been only one month.
Noisier than anticipated. Was told by the seller (paraphrasing here) that “people don’t complain about fridge noise or air conditioner condenser noise so why would they be concerned about heat pump noise - it’s virtually the same technology?” It is noticeably louder than air conditioning condensers, and much noisier than a fridge. That’s the reason for the four stars. Will update possibly once I have longer experience if anything comes up.
I still feel heat pumps are probably the way to go for life cycle cost - just was surprised by the noise factor.

Dodo NBN 50/20 (Standard Plus)
do NOT use - POOR Excuse for an Internet Provider - do NOT useDo NOT recommend to anyone. With dodo since 2011 - p… roblems with ADSL2+ for a number of months a couple of times, took about a month or two to diagnose each time. Now NBN for 2 months and it has the following problems: - My 8kbps ADSL2+ was better than my NBN. NBN has been a DOWN grade for me! - erratic speeds ranging from 1Mbps to 20Mbps download speeds (very rarely 30 or above - advertised as "typical evening speed 41Mbps"). - erratic ping - usually ok, but about 10% of the time changes to 20 to 30+ ms. Some devices (other than attached screenshot) got to 200+ ping. Should be around 10 or less. - modem seems very weak - does not send as strong a signal as my ADSL modem did, so devices just have a hard time picking it up in some locations my other modem worked fine. - SERVICE a major issue - phone wait times average 10 minutes to 30+ minutes each time I want technical support. They keep testing similar things, and did not offer me credit to get my own modem when they said there was a problem with my first modem. I didn't think the next modem they send would be good - which it wasn't - didn't fix a thing. - Almost NO COMPENSATION offered for my 2 months of basically terrible NBN less than the plan offers (very slow speeds, erratic and sometimes non-existent connections) - I got almost no service for money. Told them consumer law requires them to refund my money for the first 2 months when I did not receive the service paid for. They didn't care. Offered me HALF a month only, and didn't seem to care - because "the problem has not yet been diagnosed" - Well, if after TWO MONTHS they couldn't diagnose it, I have little faith they will diagnose it ever - and it's probably just their terrible quality modem. Good luck swimming with these guys if you join! |
