Nothing great; no value for money
I opened an account in August and moved some of my funds to this bank, approx 150k. Thought it would be a good bank as it is new and innovative. The gloss came off pretty quickly. They claim to offer 86400 seconds(24hours) of convenience each day. That's a false claim. If you have any issues during the weekend there is no one to reach out to. Atleast they should have an emergency contact. Secondly, they offer very poor interest rate compared to Ubank due to a limit on the amount they would offer interest on. I am moving funds back to Ubank who provide excellent customer service and value for money with no fuss.
Best home loan, very happy
Applied for a home loan (after pre approval) With a different bank. 7 day’s later I was rejected. Went to a broker who applied through 86400 and we had full approval the next day. Also got a fantastic interest rate. Moved all my bank accounts to 86400 and couldn’t be happier, it’s quick, it’s no fuss and it’s great for me.
Great bank for saving
I have banked with 86400 for over 8 months and I am ahead of schedule to reach my saving goal! I use it as my ‘hide away’ savings account. I really like how I can connect my other bank accounts (eg big 4 bank mortgage) to my 86 400 app and I receive notifications of up coming bills so I can clearly see my complete financial picture to help me save. I have only ever had one issue - I locked my account as I stupidly entered in the wrong pin too many times. I simply called up and the staff were very friendly and sorted my issue out very quickly. ...I also like that this bank is not “partnered” with other banks eg Up (Bendigo and Adelaide bank) and UBank (ANZ) however 86 400 is completely safe as they have the same government protection as the ‘Big 4’ banks and must adhere to the same legislation as per all Australian banks, eg, it was super easy and quick to open an account through the app but I still had to have the government checks to confirm my identity.
Started out good.... benefits slowly eroded.
When I joined 86400 - they boasted they had the highest bonus Interest rate in the market.
However, over 6-12 months they slowly reduced their interest rates outside of the RBA's rate changes. Now they are no longer offering a competitive interest rate.
Now they have advised from Nov 1 2020, balances of up to $50k will only get the bonus interest. Add to the fact you can only access your accounts via a mobile app (no desktop/web portal) - there really is no competitive advantage with these guys. I would recommend looking for alternative banks if you are looking for a good return on your savings with better options in accessing your accounts.
I opened up an account with 86 400 some months ago and I’ve just started utilising there services. I rang and spoke to Janet, who answered all my questions. I am now more than satisfied that the services provided will be to my advantage.
My call was answered quickly.
Very good so far.
Been with bank only 9 days. Have transferred monies in & out very successfully. Received phone notification when pay was received. Have added accounts from other banks & credit cards. They all show up, as well as a summation. I can even see transactions from other banks accounts. So far very good.

Just reading the reviews AFTER opening my account, but I'm pretty happy so far. Yesterday July 31st I rang for guidance on depositing money into the new account and it was Just so easy. No delay on my calling and I sent $1000 via Osko. It arrived instantly and I transferred to my Savings account. Immediately. Today (1st August) I transferred another $1000 via Osko, same smooth transaction, and when I transferred that to my Savings account I noticed that I had already been credited for the interest on my initial deposit that I made for the one day on the last day of July. As I said, looking pretty good so far.
A long way to go..... problems galore
A lot of issues with this so called new digital bank, says they are available 86400 seconds of each day. God forbid if you have an issue, you will need to fend for yourself and perhaps give up your job or business for a few days trying to seek help and resolution. They don't seem to understand the importance of banking for people. Poorly qualified IT team. Took over 24 hours to find an issue with my banking. Very casual approach. I just hope this was a one off issue for me. In my 50 years of banking, I have had good and bad banking, but this on...e, so called digital bank took the cake. They don't have anyone who understand the value of exceeding customer expectations, leave alone satisfaction. Don't think they have heard the word "Loyalty". If I have another similar issue with this bank, it is the end of the road. I will fly away to Paradise Bank. Cannot afford another hiccup. Not worth the time and effort talking to helpless bunch of people. As you can see, I am not one to drop reviews at the drop of a hat. It has to be something absolutely shambolic or exceedingly great. My last review here was 6 years ago.
Excellent Service, really great to deal with Real people
I opened my account a few months ago, have received great interest on my 'save' account and loved using the debit card. its easy to set up, the people are great to deal with, and very helpful - you get a strange feeling - like they really care !! Its still a bit of a work in progress - we wanted a joint account, which was not originally available/ developed - and this week we got one- and it works a treat :) This is definitely a lot of steps forward.
Competitive interest rates on savings
I recently opened a savings account with this bank because of their competitive bonus interest rates. The account was easy to open and the app is user friendly. I've been able to transfer money to my other accounts using Osko with no problems. Early days, but so far I'm very happy.

I opened an account with this bank a few months ago because of their high interest rates on deposits.
The account set up through the app was simple and easy and completed within a few minutes.
I recently needed to transfer some money from 86400 back to my Westpac account and was very impressed when I had to increase my daily transfer limit. All it took was a simple phone call and while I was on the phone as an added security measure a code was sent to the app which I logged into to receive.
The customer support staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help me.

Incompetence at an almost unbelievable level
Thinking that I should give the digital start-up a fair go, I opened an account. Initial opening experience was ok (not great). I provided my Tax File Number and NSW Driver's Licence as valid ID. I deposited $1000 and then pushed $900 into the savings account from the payment account. All of a sudden my account is "locked" and unable to be accessed. I contacted them and unfortunately received a differing story upon each contact. HINT: Don't waste your time with the Customer Non-Service people, they are vague and disinterested. When I had ...escalated it to the head of compliance (who only works Monday to Wednesday........SERIOUSLY?!) She laid the entire blame squarely at the feet of Westpac Banking Corporation. A fraud Analyst at WBC had "concerns" with my depositing money from WBC to 86400. What the.......??? When I insisted upon specifics there were none. Apparently I have to wait to speak to someone from their fraud department. Do not take a chance with this pretend bank. The main problem is the total LACK of communication. I had to instigate every instance. It was only when I was escalating the entire sorry situation to AFCA that I started to receive phone calls from 86400. If 86400 last a year in the Australian marketplace, it will be nothing short of a miracle.

Unreliable with unhelpful poorly trained customer service.
I Can't recommend using 86400. Firstly I couldn't have my wages paid into either of my 86400 accounts as our wage payment company didn't recognise their BSB. I encountered issues while transferring from a big 4 bank into 86400 via Osko on two occasions. Initially a small transfer of $150 went missing for a day, while inconvenient wasn't a huge issue. A larger transfer of $2000 went missing for a week and this was a problem. Again transferred from a big 4 account to my 86400 account via Osko. The payment simply disappeared and I was told several...times over the 5 days is was the sending banks issue not an 86400 problem. Both banks claimed it wasn't their issue however only the sending bank offered help by running a transaction trace. They were adamant the transfer was successful because of data they could see on their system which ultimately showed 86400 had received the money despite their constant denial. When faced with the transaction trace report my money was mysteriously found within minutes, apparently applied to an 86400 internal corporate account. Amazingly I then had to fight to have my funds released and transferred into my account. The money that went missing was for a furniture removal company and car registration. 86400 almost had me living without our household belongings an unregistered car as a family of 5. 86400 customer service wasn't helpful at all. Nobody seemed interested in looking a little deeper to find the transaction and if it hadn't been for the help of the sending bank my money would still be lost.
