No call at all company.
Still waiting to get a call from them in regards to a work order to repair my toilet and other works. 1 week on and no one has even called me. They must be so busy they don't want more work? Pffft from all the bad reviews I have read it's a wonder they still operate.
Disgraceful service and will never recommend them anyone to carry out work
I had a house fire and AJGrant were contracted by NRMA to carry out the work. They informed me it is a lifetime warranty job and yet 12 months after the work was carried out the electrical work was causing my home to black out everyday. I informed them and first they tried to deny they caused the problem they would not own up and now they won’t pay the electrical as part of their lifetime warranty work. I will never recommend AJ Grant to anyone as they are so difficult to work with and customer service is appalling.
Dear Sheena

Poor and unprofessional service
Aj grant were in charge of the repairs on our house after fire damage . They lost the contract with Nrma insurance around the same time our fire occurred it took three assessments to get a scope of work completed but unfortunately they missed most of the repairs required, the local trades who completed the actual work submitted variations to cover the missing items and completed the work professionally and were easy to deal with
Unfortunately Aj grant are poorly managed and are completely untrustworthy I wouldn’t recommend

Aj Grant not good at all
I used Aj Grant through Coles insurance. They replace my front house driveway, part of the claim. During their work they chipped my garage floor. I asked them to repair it immediately. They fixed it up but two years later it start coming off again so I called them back. Luckily they came straight away and it was fixed for the second time. A year later it again started to break down so I called them again but this time they refused. They said that wasn't part of their claim and they just done it as good will. Do you think they spent 3 to 4 hours for you for a good will. Anyway i sent a complain to cosumer affair and now i am on the waiting period.

Disgraceful and substandard!
Our floating floors had to be replaced through our insurance claim with RACV and AJ Grant could not be more difficult to deal with.
They creak and squeak every step that you take. Not just in one spot - EVERYWHERE! We flagged this with AJ Grant 6 months ago and they have been hand-balling it back to RACV ever since. We've had 3 inspections so far, all of which, determined that the flooring is faulty and needs to be replaced, but AJ Grant still disagrees with the findings and have now requested a FOURTH inspection. In other words, they're refus...
Read moreing to admit the faulty product and/or workmanship and send someone back to replace them. It's all about who has to pay for it! Never spoken to them on the phone, our repairs coordinator only likes to communicate via email and the flooring contractor they assigned was so dodgy, he demanded a $150 fee (separate to our insurance excess) payable to him for being out of pocket when he ordered the wrong colour floorboards, accusing us of changing our minds. Mind you, he wanted us to choose a new colour from photos he sent to us via text, not actual flooring samples we could see in person. Our house wasn't even 1 year old when this happened, so choosing a new floor covering for the majority of the house was a big decision - he of course, couldn't find our original floorboards and claimed he had never heard of the brand or where we got them from either, so we were forced to choose from his discount warehouse supplier as he didn't want to spend anymore time on it. We advised AJ Grant of the troubles with this guy, but they brushed them off saying he's always had good feedback from clients and they couldn't understand why we felt we had any issues! Overall, terrible company to have dealt with on top of the hassle of a home insurance claim, and I can only hope that RACV send a different builder to fix AJ Grant's DEFECTIVE work!- 2 reviews

Appalling!
We had a fire at home and AJ Grant stored our contents (but lost the tender to rebuild). They charged more than $15,000 to clean items many of which really didn't need cleaning. They lost furniture - after I chased them for it (and went to their warehouse to look) - they told me never EVER to call them again. Surprise, surprise after I got the courage to call them again 6 months later they found the items (unsurprisingly as one was a 7 foot, 1 tonne bookcase). It then took a further 4 months to get them delivered. The delivery people turne...
Read mored up at 8am at AJ Grant to collect them and were told to wait until 9.45am before a manager arrived. These people need to seriously look at their business before they don't have one any more. Why would anyone use them with these sort of reviews? I have been told to write a novel (comedy!!??? tragedy??!!) with all the awful experiences we have had with this fire...but I am not sure where to start there is so much to write! Maybe with AJ Grant......Very prompt service
Assessor was prompt and very professional , explained the entire process and very helpful. Good knowledge of policy. Very impressed
Absolute bunch of BOGANS.Have no idea how to conduct business or even how to use a drill.
Nothing positive to say. Do not use anyone they sub contract out. NRMA should be shamed also for using AJGrant as a choice for their insurance repairs. Job started April, now end Nov, not finished!!!

10/10 rating for this company from start to finish.
I cant understand previous reviews as i have nothing but praise for this company. From the initial assessment to finished job, we were kept up to date on every step. We had a few problems , due to trade delays and they were all resolved very professionally. The team that replaced our roof were the best tradesmen that we have ever had , polite, great work ethic and went above and beyond for a great finished product. I wonder if some of these other comments are genuine ?. Thank goodness we did not attempt to organise this job ourselves.

Would give zero stars if possible
AJ Grant is one of the contracted repairers for NRMA Home Insurance and I recommend you fight tooth and nail to have nothing to do with them if NRMA try allocating them to your claim.
AJ Grant run their business with a complete lack of professionalism and integrity. I constantly had to chase them up. Trades showed up at my door with no appointment, then at other times, didn’t show up at all when bookings had been confirmed.
They blatantly lied to NRMA about following up with me and claimed to have had discussions with me that never occurr...
Read moreed. They constantly left it up to me to follow up with them about where we were up to. They expected me to me satisfied with, and to settle for second rate repairs. Only constant complaints over several months finally resulted in that part of the job being completed satisfactorily. Eventually another building company was allocated by NRMA (thank goodness) to complete the remaining repairs, (due to ongoing complaints and issues with AJ Grant), after close to 4 months. AJ Grant demonstrated complete incompetence, unprofessionalism and proved themselves to be unethical in the way they go about their business.- 2 reviews

Middle man who offers nothing
You don't realise the problem with AJ Grant until it's too late , your insurance company will sell your job to them , they will then sell your job to the cheapest and nastiest contractors , cheaper the beter so Aj Grant maintain their gross margin for doing nothing , that's it ! A nothing company who leeches a profit from your misery ! Take the cash payout folks ! Avoid AJ Grant or suffer the pain !
Excellent job
Thank you Staff of AJ Grant, NRMA Insurance and tradies involved in our renovations. All persons we were involved with were courteous, supportive, and superseded our expectations. A really great job, by very professional people. Another huge thank you to all

Pathetic useless and have no idea!)
Pray to god you never have to deal with this company!!! They are absolutely pathetic!!!
First time it took them 4 months to fix our house and the only way we could get them to respond was to constantly contact our insurance company.
Less than a year later due to the dodgy trades they used they had to return to rectify geez was this a dilemma!
Apparently we got the best supervisor on our case! If this was the case I feel sorry for the rest of the people who have the other supervisors!
It took 2 months to complete the job! We went from livi...
I only got half of my roof replaced
I also was forced into using AJ Grant, due to being insured with NRMA and having another quote knocked back because it was more expensive than AJ Grant's. I have nothing but huge regrets. They try to skip around the issue, saying that I 'agreed to the scope of works', which was in industry-specific jargon and did not remotely give me any indication that only part of my roof was being replaced. They even went so far as to ask me what colour I wanted. No graphic diagrams of what was being replaced. No phone calls to confirm I understood the ...
Read moreterms of the scope of works. Just get in, slap it on and then refer back to the policy and scope of works, due to me living 900kms away from the job and relying only on a photograph of the house from the front, which didn't show the back roof of the house. As previously discussed in other reviews, they opt for the cheapest solution, giving me the impression that there is some back door deal with NRMA to keep costs down to maintain the contract, because I cannot see any other way that NRMA would want to associate themselves with them. I am escalating the matter to the Ombudsman, due to their misleading conduct.- 9 reviews

Absolute horror to deal with
This company is contracted to NRMA so I had no choice but to use them. It has now been nearly 9 months since the insurance incident and the work has still not been completed.
They get the cheapest possible solution, accept shoddy work, lie about the building requirements, send people around without making appointments then say the homeowner was not available and the list goes on.
I now have a double glazed door that does not close properly and lets air in around the frame but this is apparently OK with AJ Grant and with NRMA as well.
I don't know why any insurer would want to have this company ruining their name. I am now looking for an insurer that does not use AJ Grant.
Useless and still I’m roofless

Unprofessional Duplicitous, falsehood.
On 12 April 2018, CommInsure sent an AJ Grant representative to conduct a detailed assessment of damages to my property after a severe wind event in February 2018 caused significant damage to my roof, smashed my satellite dish, blew away my cooker rooftop vent and minor damages to some internal wall. the builder that arrived after looking at the damages stated he was positive that the damage was as a result of the storm and he couldn't understand why CommInsure was delaying. He added that he had attended a similar situation in the vicinity and ...
Read morethe Insurer (not CommInsure) had fixed the roof without any questions. He asked me for a tape measure and took some measurements of the tarpped roof area. He then assured me that he would get the roof fixed and I was to leave the matter with him. He asked for information relating to CommInsure's declining the claim which I discussed with and showed to him. In the presence of a witness he again repeated that he would get the roof repaired and said he would get back to me by the 16 April 2018. He asked for copy of other documents relating to the building which I did not give to him. I heard nothing from either CommInsure or their contractor so on 26 April 2018, I referred the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service. CommInsure was supposed to let me have a response to my complaint to the Ombudsman (FOS) by 17 May 2017. I heard nothing but late on Friday 18 May 2018, they sent an email informing me that they had arranged for AJ Grant to conduct a detailed assessment of the damages. I should like to point out that this appointment was made without my informed consent! In any event the further assessment was not conducted because I was elsewhere attending a prearranged appointment. On 31 May after I sent a letter to CommInsure with a copy to the Ombudsman, I received a report from Commonwealth Bank's dispute resolution Manager. It contained a lot of fake information and totally false information from the AJ Grant builder. For some decades, until I retired I have worked as an Auditor (yes I qualified as an Auditor) and conducting assessments were a routine part of my work activities. Surprisingly the Builder from AJ Grant have stated the total opposite to what he said in our witnessed conversations and have recommended the claim be declined based on number 1 of CommInsure's General Exclusion Clauses. This clause relates to defects, structural or design faults, faulty workmanship, or faulty design and is the main clause used in situation such as mine because the Insurer believes it's the easiest clause to attempt to defend and the one that gets the the most results in claimants not pursuing their claim. The builder from AJ Grant produced a photograph which he alleges is of poor workmanship. AJ Grant also alleges that used and old material was used What that photograph demonstrates is a hole in roof which was covered by the tarp. The hole is where the satellite dish was situated on the roof! The dish and several sheets of metal were removed from the roof by the CommInsure contractor sent to make the roof safe. Basically AJ Grant through it's builder is attempting a con job. Fortunately I have had the roof independently assessed and that builder took lots of photographs and undertook emergency repairs to prevent the ingress of water and to prevent further deterioration. Reports from the Independent Builder, and the builder supplier of the roof materials, and another entity who also attended for make safe is being provided for submission to the FOS. I would not recommend AJ Grant to anyone. as they are dishonest, deceitful, and unprofessional and I certainly would not recommend CommInsure and/or CommBank as entities to conduct business with. Peed Off.- 9 reviews

Never ever use this business to do your restorations
We lodged a claim with NRMA in February 2018 because there appeared to be moisture inside our laundry wall. We had originally got a plumber to assess the problem and they quoted us $1 500 to remove the wall, fix the leak and put it back to how it was but in our wisdom we decided to lodge a claim with NRMA. NRMA sent an inspector out who confirmed that there was a leak in the plumbing inside the wall. On 08 March 2018 we paid the excess and received a scope of works approval, with AJ Grant Tuggerah being allocated to the job.
Since then we...
Read more have had no less than 7 instances where tradesmen have come out to assess / do work on the job but to this date we are nowhere near to the job being completed. The wall was removed, the leak repaired (at our cost) and then the wall put back and rendered but not yet tiled or painted. The tiler came in on Monday but refused to do the tiling because one of the other tradesmen allocated by AJ Grant had "removed the waterproofing". He said that now they will have to remove the floor of the laundry with a jackhammer so as to re-apply the waterproofing before he can start tiling.. So we have been without a washing machine for 3 months, have had to take off multiple days work to meet tradesmen at the property and still no end in sight. This is the most unprofessional approach to a job that I have ever come across. NRMA needs to seriously consider taking AJ Grant off their list of recommended providers.Terrible company
WA- unprofessional and run by a bunch of idiots who do not even know what they are doing. shocked how insurance companies even picked them to do repairs on there behalf. Unable to get ahold of them, repairs were the worst I have seen and when I finely got ahold of someone they did not want to listen or advised the manager is not in the office everytime I call.
Liar liar liar
AJ Grant engaged sub contractors to fix our ceiling following storms in the ACT. From day one the service was poor. Didn’t show on time then eventually engaged a builder to undertake the works. The workmanship was terrible. Just over 12 months later the paint is peeling from the ceiling joints. The first Inspector from AJ Grant took one look at the works, apoligised and said they would get it fixed. 3 months later the local A J Grant person attended with the builder. They climbed on the roof, made multiple excuses, included butt joints, previou...
Read mores trades etc.. then the report to NRMA says there are broken roof tiles and new water damage. Very strange considering no one has been on the roof since they repaired it after the storm. I wonder if they may have broken some tiles when stomping around up there... Offered a paltry amount to not rectify the works. Never trust them! Then to make matters worse NRMA agree without even coming out to look at our house. JOKE!!!- 2 reviews

VERY stressful time dealing with A.J.Grant
I had a very stressful time dealing with A.J.Grant through NRMA, who recommend them, as i found out they are the only repairs in my area that they can send out to do the scope of works and assess the damage so i didn't even have a choice.
I had a broken council sewer main cause the side of my house to sink.
They informed me that it was going to be quite expensive and for them to warrant any work done they will use there team of trades, so they got all trades in at once for a week and then nothing for 6 weeks.
A.J.Grant where good to talk to...

Excellent job by builders and painter.
I found the A.J. Grant tradesmen to be excellent. Tradesmen were polite and professional. They had to repair lining under eaves and paint lining and fascia board - paint was matched perfectly.
Difficult experience
This company was engaged by my insurer, SGIO, to assess water damage from a burst pipe in my bathroom wall. Everyone was friendly, but to my shock the report was to decline the claim. Turned out one of the factors leading to this decision was the use of my own plumber to fix the leak. The kicker is that the AJ Grant office said this was fine, but when I did so it was held against me.

Just inept unprofessional and amateurish.
Coles Insurance use this mob and at best they are all of the above. Absolutely no communication skills nor urgency in how they go about their work.Get used to being fed large amounts of high stinking manure because they will feed it to you.Claim submitted in Nov 2017 and approaching April 2018 and absolutely nothing has taken place.Have actually lodged a formal complaint with the Financial ombudsman in relation to this matter and don't believe I will accept AJ Grant Group in managing the repairs in any way. Coles probably really need to source another management group who demonstrate far higher qualities of proffessinalism. This mob wouldn't understand the meaning of the word.
Trades men
well my experience with A J Grant is that they don't want good trades to do there repair work. myself and other trades refuse to do work for them as the only want the cheapest price.
if insurance companies dealt direct with builders like they used to they would save money and cut out the middle man A J Grant who are only in it for the money.
There communication skills to us and also there clients as we are told by them is non existent. IAG needs to wake up and save some money and focus back on there customers who are suffering i would not recommend using SGIC OR CGU if a Panel builder is in control of the repairs.
Thank god we have the RAA in Adelaide, local people who use local trades and that's who we are with.
