Air conditioner almost completely ineffective
Whatever you do, don't pay full price for an air conditoned A-Van Cruiseliner or Adventure Plus.
The Finch HD9000 underbunk A/C cools the van by one degree and sometimes 2 degrees. This was also proven by two A/C experts. A-Van and the retailer have been stalling us for a very long time. They don't care and won't be doing anything about it it seems. We have overpaid by more than $3,000 for the van as the A/C doesn't effectively cool the van.
A-Van have known about this problem for a long time and yet continue to promote air condtioned A-Shaped A-vans. It lacks integrity.
I suggest we all take them to Consumer Affairs; report them to the ACCC and ask the Caravan Industry Association of Australia to de-register them.
Disinterested Service from Avan
Being a solo female owner of an Avan Aliner 1D, I ask myself why is Avan's service record shockingly deficient? No response to several requests for help, as I have experienced in several of their agencies. This disinterest will eventually come back to bite them! I certainly will never recommend them what their service record is concerned and warn people on consumer feedback forums like this one. I have shared with others and they agree. Just basing their business on sales and neglecting service is poor company practice! Come on Avan, you can do better than that!
Small Vent Lids a major issue.
I have a 2012 Cruiseliner and so far the 14 inch Heng-Jensen lids have been replaced 5 times.
A Van are less than helpful. Experience has certainly put me off Caravaning and A Vans.
Suggest you buy Jayco.

Questions & Answers
Hi, We've just bought a 2005 Avan Aliner and would like to increase ground clearance a couple of inches. The rims are 14" and going to 15" with a higher profile tyre is an one idea. Before going down that path, can someone tell me if this is possible ie done it themselves and if there are any challenging consequences to doing this? Another idea is a body lift. I've no idea if this can be done or if a kit is available or who to contact to make further enquiries. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Kind regards, Brian and Leanne Kerr
There's some discussion of this on this very good video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yv9SQYVlC0&t=4s
Have 2001 ALiner - any suggestions of the best way to transport 2 adult Mountain bikes?
There’s companies that sell all types of bike rakes that would be suitable for A liners and/or look on the bike rack web page
Thanks Davo - the racks I've seen don't take into account the short drawbar and location of the twin LP cylinders - if you could - could you direct me to page where I might see what you are referring to? which bike rack web page are you referring to please? Thanks Curt
