I bought a new policy over the phone and the women made not one but two mistakes. She entered my email wrong so I couldn't receive my documents so I have to call them again. She also entered my DOB wrong, I said 1992 but she entered 1982, I could not understand how the 9 sounds to be 8??? And then I have to pay $40 to just change my DOB on the policy which I only receive after I made a payment, they refuse to send a quote before I made a payment over the phone. Another woman called Stephanie just explained to me she listened to the call from her side couple of times and she confirmed I said 8, not 9, and refuse to let me hear the call. Such ridiculous. I will change to another provider after my policy expires with AAMI>
AAMI are the worst insurance company I've dealt with.
It was good value but not if they never planned to lodge a form I made, then it's quite a waste of money! It took about 10 days to get told we won't be getting help by AAMI. I have been with AAMI for about 4 years now and really regret my choice. I just hope everyone else heads my warning and cancels their AAMI policies. AAMI gave me the worst time rejecting my claim over and over. I just found out it's only going to cost $600 to fix this issue so now AAMI has lost a customer with 2 cars that has never filed a claim in 4 years. I'm changing to ...RACV as AAMI have no loyalty, they are greedy and have no customer service skills. All they had to do was offer to pay my insurance claim and I wouldn't of even accepted it so they have lost alot more than $600
Don't waste your money on AAMI
I got into a minor car accident and it was the other party at fault.
I contacted AAMI with proof and details of the other party admitting they're at fault.
AAMI did not do anything due to me not knowing if the other party had insurance or not. They told me to speak to the other party about their insurance, even when AAMI was well aware the other party was being aggressive towards me and made me feel very uncomfortable as threats were commented. All AAMI told me was to speak to the other party or take this car accident issue to small claims ...court. I honestly feel like I wasted 4 years of being loyal to AAMI from being comprehensive and becoming third party as I thought it's not worth paying comprehensive for a devalue car. When it comes to AAMI helping me with this car accident, they just take my money and offer me to go to court and sort it out myself. Which makes me forget what is the purpose of paying for this AAMI company. This is a ridiculous company and should get shut down! It's nothing but a scam.
Yet again AAMI has treated people like me as a loyal long term customer with complete disdain. They hiked my car insurance by 13% to $440 with some spurious statement explaining it was due to the number of claims they had, improved data and changes to the cost of running their business, and at the same time took another $100 of the value of my car. So after quickly obtaining quotes from 4 different suppliers with the same data yielded the same policy/coverage with a competitor at $348. Last year it was only after a very heated discussion with ...one of their reps did I manage to get it to a more reasonable level. So today I went onto their site and by using the slightest difference in my DOB , (month only), and the next door townhouse in the same block, which has exactly the same design with the same garage as mine, I was quoted online at $398! So then as I was on a roll I went back in and put in all my real info using an incognito tab and lo and behold $423, still less than what was the quote they sent me. I have to say that I am amazed at just how unethical and immoral that is. You can be sure that when my contents comes up later in the year I will be looking around as I had an enormous battle last year as they sent me a renewal which was almost double what I got on line using the next door town house as today. Shame on you AAMI.
