Major damage - No resolution
In early October 2016, an Absolute Domestics cleaner caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to our wooden staircase, and the nearby wall.
We have been given the run around by Absolute Domestics: five months and approximately 30 phone calls later, we still do not have a resolution.
They talk about referring our claim to their insurers - but with each phone call, a new excuse draws the matter out further.
Absolute Domestics: Please resolve this ASAP
I used their website to make a request for a one off clean for a house I am selling. There was no response. I rang their call centre to give them another go and again no response.
The company that actually did the job were very professional, arrived on time, did a wonderful job and were very affordable. Best advise I can give is give Absolute Domestics an absolute miss!

Booked a fortnightly cleaning job and had the proposed cleaner contact me prior to the date to confirm that she would be at my home at 3pm Sat. Saturday at 2.30pm sms'd the cleaner telling her I was running late but got no response. Arrived home at 3.12pm and sms'd her that I was home. No response. I sms'd and called her several times and got so fed up with the lack of response that I called the office twice, last time being 4.51pm only to have their office phone recording state that the office was closed....what? According to their website the...y are open until 5pm! So I emailed them at 5.38pm. Amazingly enough someone called at 5.50pm! Stating that they too couldn't contact the cleaner and her team leader will be calling me on Monday to explain why she didn't turn up. I got a phone call on Monday at 2.21pm from the office explaining that the cleaner had left her mobile home but had turned up at my home at 2.50pm and left 3.10pm as I was not home. How convenient! and why didn't she call me when she got her phone that evening or Sunday or even Monday to explain herself???? I explained that I didn't want that cleaner and requested another and the response was that they would have to check availability as they don't have many cleaners that service my area. I stated that if it is too hard then just tell me and I will go elsewhere. The response is "yes I think it's best you do that cause there is no availability". Again, how convenient! Totally unreliable, unprofessional and untrustworthy.
Extremely disappointed and let down
Had a cleaner in for five hours while I was in hospital having a baby hoping to come home to a clean house. Not sure what was actually cleaned. Basic cleaning was not done. My son's shelves weren't dusted, the mirror in my bedroom wasn't cleaned, the toilet wasn't cleaned, the bar stools and cupboards weren't wiped down, the cot wasn't dusted, the floor was remopped that night and underneath the couches wasn't even vacuumed. I could go on and on. I came home and was extremely frustrated and felt let down by this company. I would really be inter...ested in knowing what was done in the five hours someone was here because we paid a lot of money to have a house to clean when we got home. The only thing I could see that was done was frames and appliances were rearranged in the kitchen and living room and soap switched out for hand sanitizer at the sink. When my husband called to complain, he was offered a free clean if we signed up for fortnightly cleans. Why would I sign up for something that was a disaster the first time? Would definitely not recommend or use in the future.
Cut corners and slow workers
Cleaners came to do end of lease clean. Dust on top of the showers, mould left in corner of shower, particles left around bath drain, floors not mopped (or didn't do a good job) dirt in the brackets of the shower not even touched. Glass of shower had wipe marks. I had to go over it myself. Waste of time and money.
Will never recommend this service or use again
Oven was left with dried cleaning residue and still dirty, around the light switches was dirty, Splash back was half cleaned. Trim around windows was half cleaned. Email sent to Absolute Domestic with pictures and have not had a response to date. How do I know, because I spent 2 hours cleaning all these areas again.
Very bad experience!
I've booked 2 cleaners and they've cancel my booking in the last minute as one of the cleaners were sick and they decided to reschedule the second cleaner to someone else! They respond to this was "that's life, things happening". I should mention that, they offered me to send cleaners another time which unfortunately didn't work for me as I was planning to clean the house well in advance (I had to get off from work). In overall, very bad customer service and unprofessional staff, not recommended.

We look forward to our really good cleaner Karla coming in as she is really professional and is so pleasant. Karla is thorough and well organised. We are relaxed about leaving our home in her care. I have recommended Karla to friends in our area.

Don't use this company
Absolutely pathetic. Had a move clean done two weeks ago they sent me two ladies from another cleaning agency was told it was $160 for four hours. My house was cleaned out not much cleaning required they wanted to charge me 360 . I told them do what U have to and leave after two hours as it was two hours each they cleaned one bath room and two toilets and did vacuuming and moping. Clean was so bad I had to go over it it baffles me how two women can take so long to do so little and wall tiles and floors were still dirty. Booked two cleaners for ...new house did a no show. Had two cleaners last year male refused to listen and constantly went into my bedroom and bathroom without permission touched underwear and personal belongings time and time again. Made rude gestures towards me. Keep away from this company the people they hire are unreliable, not trust worthy and they are scammers
Don't waste your time!
First cleaner was useless and tried to charge more. Second cleaner was worse, vacuumed around the table, washed part of the floor & dusted half a coffee table! I phoned to complain & promised a free clean from an 'experienced' cleaner who had been with the company for some time & who would be my new regular cleaner - instead i receive a call from a cleaner who had just started with the company (less than a week) with no history or positive reviews with the company. So much for your promise Absolute Domestics. A complete time waster!
Worst cleaner ever!!!
Soaking wet floors, shower still dirty, taps and basin not cleaned, poor vacuuming, items from shower left on the carpet! And took over 3.5 hours! Need to check people they send can actually clean!
Breach of Verbal Contract?? Extreme Under Quote - 120% Increase
Extreme Under Quote - Two quotes were obtained from two cleaning companies for an End of Lease clean. The first from Jims Cleaning involved a site visit and written quote. The second from Absolute Domestics involved a phone quote (verbal contract) with proviso that site visit on day of cleaning may involve minor variation on quoted price (+/-10%). Given the base line quote provided through Jims Cleaning, and solid reviews on Product Review, the Absolute Domestic quote was accepted despite being slightly more expensive than the baseline quote. A...ll good thus far... On the day of cleaning, the crew turned up on time, undertook a site visit, than advised me that the cleaning cost would be approximately $1100 - a 120% increase over the agreed price, and some 130% over Jims Cleaning. This for a modest two bedroom, two bathroom terrace house in South Yarra. After composing myself, and discussing the matter, Absolute Domestics departed the premises. I subsequently raised the matter with Absolute Domestics call centre and highlighted my displeasure with the circumstances. In turn they stated that they were not in a position to intervene with one of their contractors. Notwithstanding their comments I will be raising this matter with Consumer Affairs Victoria. Moral of the story - Get a Written Quote (and don't use Absolute Domestics). Note: Jims Cleaning completed the EOL clean in accord with their written quote - Job Well Done.
The worst cleaning job that made me feel sick.
I can not believe that absolute cleaning know anything about cleaning.
We originally hired AD to clean interior walls and doors and windows both exterior and interior. We originally thought that the price would be $89 but my wife was up sold (more like told that we could not get a domestic unless we agreed) to a spring clean package where two cleaners would "spring clean" the home for three hours for $200
The cleaners turn up and then say they can't complete the job within the allotted time and either want to leave the job part complete or more money, the best they could do was clean the kitchen. Now I accept t...hat we do not clean to an inch of our lives but our home is pretty clean and really did not need much in terms of an actual spring clean. Our home, compared to modern homes, is quite small with 7 rooms and a hall way and we do not have cathedral ceiling and so on and we were absolutely astonished that they could not do what we wanted done in the allotted time and we sent them packing. I called AD who then proceeded to defend the cleaners concerned (expected I suppose). I admit to hanging up in frustration because I clearly was not going to get any sort of resolution. Given our experience we could not recommend them. And we will not be using them again.
Not only did they not honor their 50% off first clean, the woman they sent was slow & inefficient. Then they left me without help over Christmas/new year.
Deceptive business practices
Staff are unpaid for training, work is hard to come by and then they charge you $60 to join which was not mentioned upfront.
Worst Job Ever!
Had a window cleaner today who came for 3 hours and managed to clean only 6 of our 12 windows and did a terrible job at that! Worst effort I have ever seen.
2 cleaners and both terrible
I had a cleaner for about 3 wks and wanted the usually skirting, pendant lights, windowcills dusted bathrooms cleaned and floors mopped and vacuumed. Every time they came I had to contact saying lights not cleaned, Windowscills had dead bugs and dust and she had run a random cloth down my hall which was clear as day and left a massive mark. I canceled after 3 wks got a new cleaner, explained what I wanted and what had gone wrong. Next clean, same thing, all windowcills not duster either where skirtings or lights. I was very annoyed as I had sp...ecifically told her. I called company and they said she may have forgot or ran out of time. I said dusting happened first so how has she ran out of time. Then got another call saying she said she did them when I was clearly looking at a dead fly on my windowcills and Had dust all over my lights. That was my last straw. So disappointed in the clean and the way they didn't even try to fix situation.
So unhappy with this company. The funny thing is the first time I used them I had good results, though the cleaners were a couple of hours late that time too, but I was given a discount to compensate. This time the cleaners were two hours late. I was told by the company that there had been a car accident, but when the cleaners arrived they said "no, they had been double booked". I had rung the company as my partner was there to meet them at the arranged time, when he could have been at work. Then the three hour job promised was done in 90minute...s and cleaners paid and gone. They didn't do a good job, the house agent wasn't happy, so we went back ourselves to clean after I had an appalling conversation with the company's Team Leader. I was so upset after talking to her about the issues, that I had decided that even if they would grant me two hours cleaning for free (which I had to battle with them to get), I didn't want to deal with them again, purely due to the Team Leaders attitude. Such a shame. I think you really need to listen to the customer and work towards a happy resolution, and not argue or yell over top. I've never had quite the conversation!
Spring clean not so spring like
I just paid $270 for a spring clean that wasn't done to the list provided. jobs not done include the ceiling fans not cleaned, didn't clean under the bed or behind the side tables or tall boy, benches in the bathroom not washed. didn't remove the ornaments as requested and clean the cabinets. bathroom clean was terrible. There were still stains in the toilet. and the icing on the cake was that they didn't wash the floors in any part of the house. Oh yeah, and she didn't supply me with a receipt for the $270. When I complained she wouldn't refund any of the money. They are organising another cleaner to come in and do a normal house clean complimentary but still, I don't think I'll be having them back after that!!!!!!!!!!!!!
