I have had two cleaners so far; the first was good, but left the employ. The replacement unfortuantely did not meet my requirements.

Found them rude when I had a problem with cleaner.
I went through 4 cleaners with this company my first one was excellent she left the company for personal reasons but then the rest where not the best and the last one complained about dog hair on the floor when I said that’s living in a house it gets messy sometimes I felt they make me feel like it was my fault the cleaner was bad using excuses not solving the problem. Now I clean my own house because I can’t trust cleaning companies to get it right it’s not that hard.

Just interested in making money. Staff have no training on how to Clean. Would use airtasker instead. At least you can see individual ratings

Left me in lurch
I was very happy with the lady who was assigned. Lovely person who did a great job. However, when she left after 3 or 4 months the company was unable to find a replacement. A key reason for choosing an agency was to ensure continuity of service so it was both annoying and perplexing to be left in the lurch especially since I live in a very accessible mainstream area.

No thanks, I have found an alternative
Not so reliable Newcastle area
I had previously put up a review for Absolute Domestics however since that review the cleaner became extremely unreliable week after week, the downfall is it takes up to a week to get a replacement cleaner if your cleaner is sick or has other things happen in their life that prevent them.
attending their scheduled time/day. It is a very frustrating process. You don't want just anyone coming to your house if your cleaner can't make it however Absolute Domestics don't take this into consideration. Won't be back that is for sure!

Average cleaners.
I have used two cleaners from Absolute Domestics. Unfortunately they have not been as good as those provided by other services.

Had a bad experience but it was resolved by their head office
I was heartened to see that Absolute Domestics read the reviews here and take them seriously. I received a telephone call this afternoon and, after that, I feel that my experience was a one-off and not their normal service. I was offered a full refund and instead accepted a 50% refund since the cleaners did do *some* cleaning on the day. I wanted to be fair. I have also been assured that the prices on the company website are GST inclusive and that the company always pays GST. I have left my original review below for the sake of honesty and tran...
Read moresparency but it needs to be read in the context of all of the other reviews for Absolute Domestics on this site - most of which are positive. "I know Absolute Domestics gets a lot of rave reviews here but my experience is different. Paid for 10 hours cleaning and the results were poor. The cleaners assigned showed up over two hours late. We were told when we booked that the job could take 8-10 hours which was fine. However the cleaners that showed up had only heard '10 hours' (five hours each). So that's what they did - to the minute. And I don't know how they managed to spend that time because the results were poor. We are still finding things they either haven't cleaned at all or cleaned poorly. It was difficult to communicate with them because English wasn't their first language and it seemed they didn't understand what we were saying at all. Plus we were shocked that Absolute Domestics website quotes prices that don't include GST and don't have any mention of it. When we asked for a tax invoice we were told by the cleaners that this was the cash price and we'd have to pay more for GST to be included and have a tax invoice. I am sure it is against the law to quote ex-gst prices on your website. Plus I'm wondering how much the Government is being ripped off generally by cleaners for this company not paying GST? Finally there was absolutely no follow up from Absolute Domestics - no call to see how the job went, whether we'd had any problems etc. I'm happy for all the reviewers who have received good service from the company but I would never use them again. To be honest, I'm glad Absolute Domestics didn't call us afterwards - we just wanted the 'cleaners' gone from our premises and nothing further to do with the company."1 comment

spring clean
Spring clean wasn't a spring clean. They had a vacuum that hardly sucks. I had to go back over the floors. After they left I noticed a small ball on the floor, they had knocked over one of my smelly things, lucky i found it before my grandson did. Skirtings had dust on them, I had to go over them as well. I never thought to have that good a look when they were here.
Dusting vaccuming and cleanings was way under average. Some things were not even dusted. I wish i had have checked reviews beforehand. Way overpriced for under average. I told them I had animals, they should have at least have brought over a vacuum that lifts pet hair. Never again!

Our Long Term Use of Absolute Domestics
We have been using Ab Dom for many, many years (on and off for in the range of 12 - 15 years). We have long had a twice a week service (3 hours early in the week for a tidy up clean and 5 hours late in the week for a full clean). Our experiences have been very mixed over the years. We have had a hand full of exceptional cleaners, a lot of very average cleaners and a few poor cleaners. What we find very difficult is getting someone placed in the job after someone leaves the agency (and admittedly it is complicated by the fact we have a bi-we...
Read moreekly clean). It can at times take weeks until someone is replaced. If someone can not show up for a job, they also find it very dififcult to place a stand in cleaner (and nearly always not on the day that is required). I think part of the Ab Dom issues is that they often appoint inexperienced cleaners who need to find work, who often do not really want to be cleaning. I know Ab Dom tries to implement processes asking their staff if they will clean for up to year, but of course, the issue rests with the cleaners themselves. I know An Dom also provides a 3 day training session, but unfortunately is a bit hit and miss as the customers want things done differently to the trianing (ie I have very specific requirements as to what cloths and what products are use). I have had cleaners try to clean my house top to bottom with Morning Fresh (yes, dishwashing liquid and yes, they use it on the furniture and glass leaving it milky and then I have to spend an hour bringing the glass back to a clear state) even after I have asked for glass cleaner and cloth nappies to be used, Mr Sheen and other products through the house. This issue rested with the particular cleaner though who is no longer with us. We have had people placed with us who quit even before they do the first clean. I empathise with Ab Dom that this must be very difficult to manage. However, what I would like from Ab Dom is to look at their client base and match appropriate cleaners to the job. For example, we have the 2 times a week clean, and been with Ab Dom a very, very long time. I would like for them to display the loyalty we have shown they by matching a long term professional cleaner with good experience with us. I think in the last year we have had 3 permanent cleaners who have left for a variety of reasons (moving, hurt back, going into a different occupation) and a slew of stand in/other cleaners very few who have any professional cleaning experience. I finally was just appointed a new exceptional cleaner (who was with us for about 5 months but took about 2 months off on holidays, breaks and other leave) for her to hurt her back and I am back to square one training up a new cleaner who is okay, but not to the standard of our last cleaner. As I am pedantic with our cleaning (we keep the house clean by cleaning at least 3 hours a day ourselves - but we do have a large house, a dog and 2 kids), I do need an appropriate cleaner for the job. Not just someone who decides a pattern and sticks to said pattern without looking out for things that might need to be done (ie vacuuming behind bedside tables, wiping marks off walls, cleaning ceiling fans with extendable brush, wiping down window frames, vacuum under couches and beds, moving small items on all surfaces and cleaning up - not just some here and there). Most cleaners will do this if it is spelt out for them but they do not work it into the clean until you spell it out for them again. Ab Dom, we do have a list we give the cleaners with a list of what products to use where and the basic stuff, but the cleaners need to be a little more intuitive than this. Plus, they need to actually read the list. I have provided that list many times to cleaners who just get handed it (we do vocally run though it with them and the house in saying that), put on a table and leave it there to never read or refer to. I am happy to work with the cleaners and teach them what we need them to do, but there have been some how have become very argumentative when you mention something needs to be done (even if you say it in the nicest possible way which has happened from time to time - but not for awhile, the current cleaners sent through in the last year have been pretty good in this regards). Overall, I do stick with the service as it is one service I know I can book and pay for a set time and they will stay there for that time (or nearly all of it). We have used cleaners that ask for a set price per job and rush through the job, doing what we get done in 5 hours with Ab Dom in say 2 - 3 hours but take the same amount of money which is completely unacceptable. I have had good experiences with Ab Dom, bad experiences with Ab Dom and average experiences with Ab Dom. The management are usually reasonable and sort matters out, but not always in the time frame we need them, but in their credit when trying to place a new cleaner, they do try. Will I stay with Ab Dom - probably as I know what I am getting (even if I am not always full satisfied with what I am getting). Ab Dom, this is just our general review and experience as long term users of your business. Like any business you have things you need to work on and things that have been good and this balance had changed from time to time over the years. I hope you do not dispute our experiences as they are just honest feedback of someone who is happy to continue to use your service as they meet the primary requirement of someone actually staying for the set time, and as someone who has received a varying degree of reliability in the service (but again that comes down to the cleaners themselves that you employ and not managements actions).1 comment

Good service but can't afford monthly
I'm quite happy with the service from Absolute Domestics but cannot continue to use them because they won't allow a monthly clean. I find it strange that the company will not accept the kind of business the customer wants. Oh well, I'll seek an alternative. Was very happy with the cleaners.

Varying quality between cleaners
Have had several cleaners from Absolute Domestics , In regards to the Call Centre the Customer Service I found was good and they can arrange a clean quickly and follow up afterwards.
In regards to the cleaners however, the quality of the cleaners differs from cleaner to cleaner. I have had a quite a few poor cleaners over the years who failed to be time efficient, failed to clean properly, even turned off important appliances and forgot to turn them back on eg. The fridge. However my experience with Absolute Domestics End of Lease Cleaners I...

Hi Tracey, it's entirely up to you how you would like to direct the cleaner to use their time. You can stay home and prepare everything for them to focus solely on cleaning or you can leave them to it during the allocated timeframe. Regards, Absolute Domestics

What is bonus hour?
6 answers
Yes got the bonus hour.
Cheers
First visit you get one hour extra free.
Absolute Domestics told me that the "bonus hour" means that you get one hours cleaning you don't have to pay for, eg, have a 3 hour clean but only pay for 2 hours. However, according to AD, the cleaner doesn't get paid for that hour, which is actually illegal. So the cleaner cleans for 3 hours but only gets paid for 2 hours.
