Roman Blinds Installed in April this year already faulty
I had Roman blinds installed in April this year - they are already faulty and will not retract. I phoned this morning and was told that because it was more than 3 months since the blinds where installed there is a mandatory $99 call out fee.
I then reported to the NSW Office of Fair Trading as in my opinion this violates Australian Consumer Law. Anyway, Monday I got a call saying they would waive the fee and someone would phone back to book in a service call. 5 days later, after sending an email and now phoning again - still nothing.
My recommendation is not to use this company if they will not provide after installation service.
Do not touch Accent Blinds if you value your sanity
Two years ago we bought a house which had Accent electric blinds. The battery need replacing in the remote 18 months ago, which we did and lost the settings. Rang them and $99 later the rep came out and said that there was no power to them and left. I engaged an electrician who said there was power to them. Have rung back and they said that because we were not the original purchaser there was nothing they could do. I have rung again to ask to speak to the installer and was told that " they do not use these motors any more and it would take ...him some time himself to work it out". I would't like him to work for me with such a bad short term memory. Now I will have to go to consumer affairs to try and get my $99 back. As I said you will do your head in talking to these people. They treat their customers like idiots and have no idea what customer service means.
Sales lady that came out to measure is rude!
The lady who came today and measured our window and sliding door was rude. I asked her I prefer a dark sheer and she raised her voice and said I will never get a dark colour because it will never look dark in the day. I also asked her if she can measure another window and she raised her voice again saying that's why she asked how many windows to measure because that is the only amount of time she will spent. And then she asked is it the same type of window and I said I dont know what would you recommend? and she raised her voice again and said ...yeah yeah what do you want? This is my first time to ever write a review because I cannot believe how can someone come to your house and be rude at you. You let them in your house and they act like that? Unacceptable. Unprofessional.
DO NOT PURCHASE SHUTTERS
Do not purchase Plantation shutters from Accent Blinds. The vinyl wrapping on ours is beginning to lift off after a couple of years and Accent want to charge us $99 for someone to come over just to take a look. Our shutters are rarely touched or opened so this issue is not through wear and tear. Mary the receptionist is a very difficult person to deal with when you have a problem and refuses to let us speak to a supervisor or someone in charge. You would be better to spend a few extra dollars with a better company and purchase quality shutters ...instead of this cheap inferior product. For a company who promotes themselves as a market leader in the shutter industry they are only interested in getting your money with no follow up service. This is really shameful.
No Show and no phone calls
booked appointment for Saturday 24/6 was told would call the day before with a time. No phone call so i phoned at 4.30pm Friday and was told they would call me later with a time which did not happen and waited all day on Saturday and no show. I received a phone call on 26/6 to ask me to reschedule what a joke. Never getting my business and will never refer to other people.
Horrible and rude service! Don't use them
The measuring guy left me waiting for half an hour, before I rang the office to find out he had decided he couldn't come. They then offered me another check and measure for 3 weeks time. At this point I had already payed my deposit so, I rang to cancel my order and despite ringing more than once it took them days to get back to me. The office lady and manager were rude to me and blamed it all on me. Don't touch the company, they are rude and take no responsibility.
Old customers of Accent. Never again!
We have been customers of Accent Blinds for nearly 18 years and have been replacing our Accent wooden blinds with Accent Shutters over the past 10 years. Recently one blade in one shutter (installed in July 2008) has shattered for no apparent reason. We totally understand that they are out of warranty but we were sold these shutters as "Chinese Oak", they are obviously not the wooden shutters that we paid for but some poor quality Chinese plastic material! I'm not sure where we will go with that information just yet!

Blinds are hard to open, and customer service is not good
We had accent blinds put into the upstairs of our house late last year. A few are difficult to open (the chain sticks), and one broke recently when I tried to open it normally. The company refuses to honour the warranty, claiming I opened the blind with force, which I didn't do. I wouldn't recommend Accent after this, and will go elsewhere for the downstairs blinds.
Do not deal with this company, beyond disgusted
This company is absolutely disgraceful. Their customer service is beyond poor, they don't return your phone calls, I had a part missing from my blinds and I had to continually chase them. I had a panel slider blind break off and it costs me to get someone out to fix it. To make a complaint, conveniently no one is available to assist you, you have to email a request. I would never deal with this company again. Beware of the terrible customer service and poor quality of installation.
Most appalling service
Initial install was first week of Dec 16 for my entire home. It is now nearing the end of Mar 17 and I am still having to call and follow them up to have our job completed.
I have lost count of the number of times I have had to be home for the installer to come, only for the blinds to still be incorrect. It would then take me to call them after 2-3 weeks of nothing to arrange another install time.
I have called to speak with the Manager Maggie who refused to speak with me & had her staff call me back. So unprofessional! My biggest regret out of my entire new house build.
Quality and Customer Service
Accent Blinds, should guarantee your blinds will fall apart. Best price maybe and that's what attracts you, quality a BIG NO NO. Very poor quality and customer service. When you contact them for repairs you speak to different staff always wanting to help. (Never keep the promise) Some advise someone will come and repair on site others advise blinds will be taken to the warehouse for repairs but again they never follow through with it. I provided photos as requested twice and no action was taken including countless e-mails. They advised a repres...entative will be out to assess the blinds, but then paper work goes missing or they provided false paperwork and info. I have a lot of e-mails, photos and false paperwork from Accent Blinds. If you can afford to pay that little extra for better quality, do it. It's worth it in the long run than trying to get repairs from Accent Blinds.
Lousy product, lousy service
I bought Accent roller blinds a few years back, the roller mechanisms have broken in all but one hardly used blind.
My biggest frustration aside from the obvious broken blind issue, is Accent cannot fix these blinds and cannot refer me to anyone who can.
Repair outside of warranty just doesn't seem to be an issue to the company!
Sleasy sales person
A sales person from Accent came out to our house to give a quote for new blinds. My wife was present in the house during his visit and he spent an hour & a half pressuring her to make a deposit on the spot as his sales were down for the month. He commented as to how lovely her hair was looking & asked could he use the toilet where he urinated all over the seat & floor. This bloke was a complete slim bag. I returned home from work & asked him to leave the premises, I rang Accent to complain about this sales person for which management apologised, however still asked for the sale by reducing the quote by 10 %...totally unacceptable. We had our blinds installed by another company & they were terrific.
FAULTY inferior ACCENT BLINDS.
'NEVER AGAIN' would we purchase a blind from ACCENT BLINDS. The strings are of inferior quality and break. The follow up service does not exist after many emails to request a serviceman to re access the problem. Finally after many emails this year we were promised that a serviceman would be sent to our home to repair the forth broken blind. (after we had paid $90.00 to repair three other broken blinds at our expense.) We received a call in late May 2016 from ACCENT telling us the a repairer would be at our home on Thursday 9/6/2016 between 4-6 ...PM. We returned home from a funeral 'Only to receive a call from ACCENT BLINDS ( at approximately 5PM) that ACCENT's serviceman will not be calling at your home! We expected nothing less from ACCENT BLINDS. As for the star rating it does not have a minus star.
She made a call the night before complaining that she had to fit in 5 other people for the AM and wasnt going to see me till the PM. I advised that I specifically booked so early in advance, in order to have an AM appointment made, she grunted that she just couldnt do it, and was willing to loose the sale by the sounds of it. I reluctantly agreed, as Accent couldnt offer a quotation after 4pm any day of the week (for working people, this is ridiculous).
She turned up to the construction site in HEELS??? - not looking very happy about havin...g to walk in heels or that it was a construction zone, or maybe she just didnt like her job, I'm really not sure exactly WHAT she was not thrilled about to be exact - but it was evident on her face that she was NOT happy with something. She walked around, looking at rooms, not asking any questions, so I decided to start by saying what I was after, when she answered, it was with attitude and looked down her nose. All the while I'm not getting a good vibe from her and eventually asked about colouring of shutters, took her upstairs where there were more windows for her to look at while I wanted to check on the color of the blind sample she gave me. She thought she was following me, but instead she stood there rolling her eyes and stomping her 'HEELs' as she followed me. I asked what the attitude was for, she said she was waiting on me to check the coloring before she continued. At this point I was livered at her attitude and ordasity of speaking to a potential CLIENT in such a manner, asked her if she wanted to proceed or leave. She got stroppy and demanded how dare I ask this, as she was offering a FREE service and didn't NEED to be there., So I firmly told her to take her stuff and leave my premises. She demanded her diety little sample and continued to tell me I was 'CLASSY'. I refused to give her sample till she was off my premises and she continued to attempt a verbal attack on the council strip outside my premises, I walked away and NEVER looked back. I attempted to call accent complaints line, they listened to my rant and rave about what had just occurred. Not a sorry or any apology, all he was concerned about, was if I needed another quote.???????? Are you serious ------------- Hell NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Because of this experience with this sour lemon, I would NEVER deal with ACCENT blinds ever again. I can not believe that Accent Blinds could hire such incompetent and rude people to represent them. And as a result, you've lost yourself approx $25000 sale.
Don't Buy Accent Blinds
Trying to get them to do a warranty service call for a double faulty roller blind was a nightmare.
It took 3 and a half months for someone to come after numerous calls and voice messages. The new replacement blinds were sppose to take 3 weeks. Then they said 5 weeks. It was 6 weeks when they told me the supplier didn't have the same materials. Its now 8 weeks and still no blinds and no answer as to when. Worst communication and customer service.
We are getting fair trading involved now and when we told them they said your welcome to !!

Why is Accent Blinds still allowed to trade. Rude customer service & never fix any issues? Robbers & down right thieves.
The only reason they are still trading is because the building trade is booming. If they were around when times were tuff, they would be long gone.
My blinds from accent seemed to have warped. Has anyone else had this problem? Only had them 6 months
My blinds which are roller blinds have all creased at the bottom. Not sure why. There is no point in asking Accent to do anything about it, as they do not have any customer service and they don't care anyway.
I hope they go out of business - they are shonks.
With mine they siliconed the whole thing to the ceiling, base and sides, if they have siliconed yours also instead of bolting them, one side may of disconnected, hence warping may be a result. not to mention all the silicone they left on carpet, and was not fitted right at all. very bad service as they didnt return calls, I had to ring fair trading for advice..
I had 2 faux wood white Venetian blinds installed by Accent Blinds in a bedroom & they smell terrible. even after 4 weeks & constant airing of the room the smell is no better. Has anyone else had this problem? I just can't think what would be causing this smell, it's like rotten eggs or dead animal, not nice at all.
