Poor service.
We had requested a quote for outdoor blinds and shutters. Was told they only quote in my area on a Saturday which is a less than convenient day for me with my work schedule but there was no budging, and I would be contacted on the evening prior to arrange a time. Kind of meant I had to keep myself available for the whole day. I was contacted by the sales rep on the Friday evening and informed that he would not be there on Saturday as his daughter had been unwell and he was helping his wife. That was fine, bit hard to get upset in those circumst...Read more
ances, so he committed to being at my house at 10:30 on the Sunday morning instead. I asked at the time if he could commit to that because if he couldn't, now was the time to tell me. He advised he would definitely be there. Sunday morning comes around and I receive a text message, not a courtesy call but the token text message telling me he won't be there because he has "fallen too far behind with his workload". Are you kidding me? I think that's a really pathetic effort, A to not have the guts to take ownership of the situation and call me, but instead send a text message that you can hide behind, and B to blatantly tell me you can't stay on top of your job and get it done and won't distribute the work to others when things get too much. I replied to his text message expressing my disappointment - no reply, I've emailed the company outlining what happened, no reply, I emailed again, no reply so to me, I'll take that as they don't want my business. We have used Accent 3 times before - once was a debarcle but then the other 2 times were great, and we've gone back to them not because the experience has been faultless on each Occassion because there were hiccups, but because we wanted the same product for other renovations. The job this time wasn't what I would consider small beans - it was several shutters and 3 motorised outdoor blinds - we had budgeted several thousands of dollars to get the work done. In the end I should thank the sales rep for being honest in telling me he can't keep on top of his workload because frankly that's not who I want looking after my project. I've since had 2 other quotes from other companies, with a 3rd coming tomorrow and we'll be in a position to proceed by the end of the week. I'm just disappointed that repeat business doesn't mean anything these days, and that small things like good old fashioned manners and customer service are hard to find because that is what has the potential to set you apart and well above your competitors.2 comments
Thanks so much for your reply, I appreciate you getting back to me and the offer to send another consultant to quote on the job. We've already agreed to go ahead with another supplier, but thank you again.

Lack of Service
$99 for a call out. My time for the service man was 3-5pm, he turns up at 4.55pm ,spends 2 mins, takes a photo and never heard back from accent again. It has taken me calling them to find it what was happening for the spare part. I still have not heard back from them in regard to fixing this issue and has been over 2 weeks. They are more than happy to take this fee but unsure what service I have received for my $99. I waited on the phone for half hour to chase them up for another time for this to be fixed call was then unanswered, called follow...Read more
ing day, service man was in the office they would check with him and call me back. No call. I have now also emailed and the response was they will check if they have the part in stock. No call. While they are very quick to take the $99 call out fee and won't issue a service call until you have paid this, I have received no service for this fee. I am extremely disappointed in Accent Blinds1 comment
This blind is still not fixed. I contacted them again the week in between Christmas and New Year to advise them. They informed me that I would be required to pay another $100 call out fee for this. Of... Read more
course I informed them that I would not be paying this again. Long story short it is now March 2018 and the blind is still not fixed. I have decided now to replace this blind all together using another company. I am extremely disappointed in accent blinds service or lack of!Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

Great service until installation then downhill fast
I called Accent Blinds because I thought they were a reputable company and they were the only company who would quote just before Xmas, so as I thought the price was reasonable and the process was easy, I went ahead. They were great, installation happened quickly and I was happy. Until 5 days later when a cord broke and I called for service. They wanted to send me a part so I could repair it myself. Are you kidding? I refused, also because it was on a stairwell and I'd need to climb a ladder on steps which I was not prepared to do. If I fell of...Read more
f, I wouldn't get compensation, but their staff would, not to mention I didn't have a suitable ladder. So I explained this and the lady on the phone said she'd have to get it approved by management and I would get a call next week. The next week came and went. No call. Without this cord I could not use the blind. I called after that week. I was again promised a call back to investigate within two days. No call. Third call. Explained the deal AGAIN. Was fobbed off saying I would get a call back. I explained that my next call would be to NSW Fair Trading. I'm still waiting but honestly think I will have to carry out my threat. Why can't they organise someone to repair? Is it that difficult?3 comments
I have since read the fine print in their warranty which states you need to pay a $99 callout fee (!!) to fix an item under warranty unless it was installed incorrectly, which I believe is why this ha... Read more
ppened in this instance. But a callout fee to repair an item under warranty seems very unethical and they haven't even given me this option, anyway. It took a written complaint and threat to have Accent respond. It was repaired today and I'm pleased not to have to take it further, but I would hesitate to use them again as these things should not b... Read more
reak after 5 days of use. I believe they use cheap shoddy hardware, everything is plastic and seems flimsy. I wouldn't be surprised if I have more problems down the line. Now another plastic bit has broken off. Do not use Accent Blinds as the hardware they use is rubbish. Hang your heads in shame, Accent. Very disappointing.

Money better spent elsewhere
Complained about blinds not reaching the full length of the window. Received attitude, then my windows where left bare for another 3 weeks until they could find a replacement (due to incorrect measurements). Replacements still did not reach the full length of the window. Customer service excuse said they would 'drop' into position. Years later still waiting for their supposed 'drop'. Complete waste of money.

Poor customer and unfinished job
Unhappy with customer service, installed $4,000+ worth of blinds , with one room's measurement missed, the error was discovered when the installer came to double check the measurements . Installer promised to sort out with the company, 8 weeks later installer came without the blinds for the windows that were missed out. Installer took the measurements again and said that he would follow up with the company, not trusting him completely, I followed up again, was promised the company will take action to order the missing window blinds. 2 weeks l...Read more
ater, nothing happened, called customer service again, nothing had been done, all previous conversation were on record and but they don't act on it. FORGET ACCENTS if I need blinds in the future. Disappointing Product
I ordered blinds for 13 windows. The customer service was great. The installer is very nice, efficient, and does a great job. The product is what is disappointing. After spending $2,000, I expect the product to come in perfect condition. However, all but 2 of the blinds had scratches at the bottom of the blind and on the first several slats from the bottom up. Some had scratched slats all the way up. When I called about this, customer service was excellent and they worked to have all the scratched blinds and valances replaced by the manufacture...Read more
r. The new blinds came and replaced the old, but they are still scratched or indented with marks on them because the faux wood is "soft material". It is disappointing that after spending so much money, I have to just "settle" for what I get and how the product is because they have a no return/refund policy. I wish I would have shopped around more and not spent my money on these. It is disheartening to have spent so much money and be so disappointed. While the employees and management are very friendly, I will not be suggesting that others purchase this product.Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

Blinds nearly 3 weeks late and made in Indonesia
My 4 simple roller blinds were nearly three weeks later than promised. There was no apology. I was first told a shipping container was late. Then I was told the 2 (small) changes I made caused the delay - however, the small changes were made at the final check measure so could not have caused any delay. I was also disappointed to learn that the blinds were made in Indonesia. Why Accent Blinds can't get simple roller blinds cut in Australia is beyond me. The blinds had a very strong chemical smell for a few days - now however, that has gon...Read more
e and they seem fine. Overall, not recommended. Sales consultant and installer did a good job and were pleasant. Failed to meet deadline. Strong chemical smell. Made in Indonesia when could have been made in Australia.Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

Will never use Accent Blinds again.
Accent Blinds rang me profusely until I rang them back to book a salesman to come out to our house, once he had given me a quote (without bringing any of his samples of the products I actually wanted to purchase) he left me to consider my options. There wasn't really anything to complain about at this point until 2 days later when I rang him to say go ahead with the order and he promised me that my blinds would be in 4 weeks later. He said I needed to send him an email confirmation of my order number and that the accounts department would take ...Read more
up to five days to process the deposit. One week later and I ring again, the money still hasn't been deducted, is everything alright, does this mean our order will take longer. "No No", he said. Again another week later I ring again, the money still hasn't come out of our account, "ah yeah, the accounts people have lost your email" so I said can you not re-send it to them, you have my email? His response "Ah, can you send it again, it's in there somewhere but then I can just forward it on again if you re-send it. Just message me when you've done it." 3-4 weeks after I accepted the quote, deposit still not deducted I decide to ring the head office. There is no listing of our order no. The lovely woman promises to follow it up and call me back. Later I discover after I ring them back that the order had only been put in a couple of days ago. Apparently my blinds are now listed as urgent/express. Should take 3 weeks, but we can't promise anything. Deposit finally comes out.. 7 and 1/2 weeks later after quote accepted I ring them to find out what is happening. "oh yes, your blinds arrived on Tuesday". I struggle to contain my annoyance as I remind her it is Friday, 4 days they've been there, and why hasn't anyone rung me? "We have 72 hours with which to call you" was the rude reply. Ok said I, but these blinds have been marked urgent/express, I would've thought maybe..? Then she says, "there's no notice of it being an urgent/express job" and then moments later..."the order was listed as express though"... So now I've worked out my blinds are in the country I try to organise a time to suit me for installation. After explaining that I would like to have my husband present during installation as I have a new baby the horrible woman says rudely "I don't understand, what's that got to do with anything!" I don't know, maybe the sound of drills etc and the fact that babies sleep a lot, anyway apparently my blinds are being delivered and installed this Tuesday. Heavens knows if they are a) the right colour b) the right size or c) if they will even turn up and actually charge the right amount. The saga continues.. *Sigh* See my review...1 comment
Sorry to hear you had a bad experience too. My blinds have started fraying at the edges and they don't roll up evenly anymore. Keep an eye out for this happening to yours too.

Slack on the follow through.
We are yet to receive our blinds but I'm so [censored word removed] off with trying to arrange check measurements and installation dates. I had to ring them to arrange a time for the 2nd measurement. They said that they had been unable to contact me as they had the wrong number. What the one you quoted to me as the contact number that I've had for 26 years?
In trying to arrange a day for the blinds to be fitted [name removed] rang and left a message on my machine as I was at work. I rang back at 4:45 and got her answering machine which said...Read more
she would ring me back shortly. I cannot have my mob phone on at work so asked her to ring on Friday morning. No return call. I rang Friday left a message, no return call. I rang Monday morning left a message, no return call. Rang the main number and spoke to a lovely girl with whom I arranged (I hope) a time for the blinds to be fitted. I asked who her supervisor was as I wanted to make a complaint. Guess who that is? Yep [name removed], who according to the girl is a very busy person. So busy in customer service that I guess she cant give service to a customer. Guess who is suppose to ring me to confirm the time for the fitting? Yep [name removed]. GRRRRRR!!!. The salesperson who came out was very helpful and prompt. Bad customer service from customer service departmentSimilar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

Why is Accent Blinds still allowed to trade. Rude customer service & never fix any issues? Robbers & down right thieves.

The only reason they are still trading is because the building trade is booming. If they were around when times were tuff, they would be long gone.
the worst company i dealt with in my reno. they siliconed the whole thing together , the whole thing fell out after 2 months of opening, had 2 contractors called Cory parsons and Nathan lyons, left silicone also over new carpet, and lied also.

My blinds from accent seemed to have warped. Has anyone else had this problem? Only had them 6 months
2 answers
My blinds which are roller blinds have all creased at the bottom. Not sure why. There is no point in asking Accent to do anything about it, as they do not have any customer service and they don't care anyway.
I hope they go out of business - they are shonks.
With mine they siliconed the whole thing to the ceiling, base and sides, if they have siliconed yours also instead of bolting them, one side may of disconnected, hence warping may be a result. not to mention all the silicone they left on carpet, and was not fitted right at all. very bad service as they didnt return calls, I had to ring fair trading for advice..

I had 2 faux wood white Venetian blinds installed by Accent Blinds in a bedroom & they smell terrible. even after 4 weeks & constant airing of the room the smell is no better. Has anyone else had this problem? I just can't think what would be causing this smell, it's like rotten eggs or dead animal, not nice at all.
