At this point alarms went off and warning stating do not turn of your computer went through the speakers, so I immediately turned everything off and saved the computer which was important as i work from home. If I'm honest I do geta tinge of distrust when I hear that nationality on the phone and this is simply due to the abhorrent number of scam calls from the Indian subcontinent. What I did not expect is the tech support from a company I am obtaining services through actually try to scam me. I checked the speedtest.com website and it stated this web site is very dodgy. I will be getting rid of AGL Internet and never dealing with them again.
Worst internet provider I've ever had. I'm done with the constant internet outages. And the worst thing is when AGL try to blame it on NBN buts its always AGL's issue. I will never recommend AGL to anyone. Don't waste your time and money with AGL. Show details

Constant connection drop outs. The service is horrible. Nothing stays connected to the wifi (mobile phone, security cameras, streaming/veiwing platforms) You are forever resetting the modem or NBN box...always to no avail. My wifi provides between 0-1 bar of reception You try to explain this to the operators and they just assure you everything is fine on their end once they run whatever tests they do. nothing has fixed the instability support is polite but scripted (“restart, factory reset, try another device”), there’s been no clear fault explanation or proactive investigation, and no meaningful credit despite ongoing outages on a fibre service; on FTTP, reliability should be the bare minimum and AGL hasn’t delivered it for me, so I’m switching providers and would not recommend.

AGL Internet might claim to offer premium service, but in my experience, it’s overpriced compared to other providers; likely driven by the need to deliver profits to shareholders rather than value to customers. Even with their so-called “retention discount,” which expires after 6–12 months, there are still cheaper and more transparent options… Read more

What really soured my experience was the lack of communication around a planned outage that lasted an entire week. As someone who works from home, this was incredibly disruptive. I had to go into the office to stay productive. Not the end of the world, but a simple text or email would’ve allowed me to plan ahead. When I asked why I hadn’t been notified, I was told they’d investigate and get back to me. That follow-up never came.
Customer service only seemed responsive once I mentioned escalating to the ombudsman. Until then, it felt like I was talking into the void. If AGL wants to claim their service is premium, they need to understand that good service isn’t just about being polite on the phone, it’s about not needing to call in the first place.
I've since switched elsewhere to a cheaper plan which with twice the speed.

I have a lot of notes on my file because the customer service representatives deliberately put me on hold and don't give me answers straight away, even when they can see the information in front of them. Extremely bad, would give -100 rating – I have been requested NBN internet last month 17th and their team told me that going to get the service 24h to 48 hrs. But so far didn't get it. Solar I called more than 30 times. But no one is really caring. Will do cancel once the swtup done. Literally no knowledge about the technical issues/ no transparent communication. AGL telco is a sham. Even at their worst dodo was 100 times better than AGL – Been AGL's loyal customer for 23 years but their NBN service and total absence of customer service and follow up has put me off. Now almost decided on another provider to switch to including gas and electricity. Not feeding AGL pests anymore. Constant drop outs on a 250/25 package. Getting 30mbps at best during peak hours. it out for 6 months and finally was told by their tech after spending over 11 hours on phone and messaging with them that AGL's system have a black spot and even on a 250 plan I won't get speeds a here close to it while Aussie broadband and some other providers have confirmed over 2200mbps during peak time.
Ask AGL to refund for not being able to provide the contracted service and after that they disappeared like there's no tomorrow and despite attempts to speak to someone, it all failed.
Call centre staff (located overseas) won't transfer call to resolution team (local) but if you are lucky to speak to the resolutions team they say "not enough testing have been done" without looking at the system notes showing how many countless hours I've spent with the tech team and the final response was "AGL system has a black spot and you won't get the speed you should be".
AGL you're one of the most expensive service providers with the cheapest and lowest quality of internet and customer service. You're terrible at customer retention and quality of service.
AGL if you're alive here then see the screenshot and the invoice number I've provided privately to see how your 250 package fares. Results are tested on a wifi6 network on a $500 plus router and I know my tech stuff very well so it's not the hardware on my end it's your foolish setup to grab money and not upgrade your systems, still stick on southern phones 20 year old systems? Terrible absolutely terrible – I have this service FTTP and have experienced constant dropouts and slow speeds, especially during evening peak times. I have moved from FTTN with AGL due to problems with old cabling. I wish I hadn't changed this FTTP service with AGL is a joke. 3 days, and I believe the only reason it came back was because I switched do a different ISP. In short, I could not stream a movie or any tv show during peak times, any day of the week. Internet could be dropped for days at a time. and the quickest response for customer support was 1 hour and 51 minutes.

Superfast activation and Superfast Download Speed – I recently switched to AGL for my Internet and I'm a delighted customer. I'm getting over 250 MBPS download speeds when using a wired connection and almost this when using wifi. Activation was a breeze as I placed my order at 6pm on the Thursday before Easter and I was online before 7pm. Horrible AGL internet – Probably one of the worst providers I have come across. I have signed up for a FTTP NBN 250 super fast plan and struggle to get near that speed. Usually ranges between 25-50. Once they trap you in there is no way to escape! – Not suitable for streaming or online gaming. When you want to sign up they are all available for you. No waiting for someone to pick up the call.
