Worst company ever

Absolutely devastated with how Airbnb have treated us. We had a fraudulent charge of $8500 put on our credit card amongst other fraudulent charges and Airbnb refuse to refund it. Their preference is to take stolen money instead of caring about their customers. Disgusting - will never use Airbnb again. Show details

We stayed at this pet friendly ‘nest’ for 3 nights with our pooch. It was beautifully appointed with every mod con you can wish for, spotlessly clean, quality sheets & towels, in short; the best airbnb we’ve ever stayed at. Beware of them cancelling

We were booked to stay in West Hobart from 28/12/2023 to 02/12/2024. We are staying in Launceston for Xmas before driving to Hobart. I mesaged to get the key code only to be resoonded with a cancellation mesage. Told we would gwt a full refund paid into our account in 10 days time and a $54 credit which needed ti be used within 3 days. If i cancelled i would lose the whole amount not just $54. We were then sent 2 alternatives a scruffy bed in a shared house or a shipping container converted inro a bedroom and then sharing everything else. We are late 59's not backpackers.

I will never book through Airbnb agaim and suggest you stay well clear. Show details

Airbnb is just not good

I use Airbnb a lot out of necessity. I have a large family and the cost of hotels is prohibitive. I have never once had a stay in Airbnb where I haven't had to contact the owner with issues. I find the owners just don't prepare for guests adequately. If there was another choice I would use them. StayZ is not an option as they are a scam

I have paid fly tickets already for the 26/12 and some other entertainment booking throughout my stay.

I have a bad Host is trying to get me to cancel the stay myself so she wouldn’t pay for this penalty. This unacceptable!!! Show details

Cancelled booking ruined holiday

Airbnb refunded my payment and told me the booking in central London apartment had been cancelled. No reason why or any explanation. What is the point in using a company that can ruin a perfectly planned holiday who don’t care about their clients. They appear to be money grabbing pencil neck blotter pushing desk jockeys who have no conscience. Don’t be suckers and use this overrated disorganisation! Show details

Not a good company

Would not recommend using them as they hold no accountability to the people who host there houses we got ripped off nearly $500 because the the owner refused to refund us even though we gave him over 3 months notice and airbnb would not do anything about it as they apparently just run the sites Show details

Lack of customer protection

Booked a house for Christmas time two months in advance. The host demanded double the amount about a month later. They ultimately cancelled my booking because I didn't agree to pay double the amount. The host had similar types of review in the past. Airbnb didn't help me at all. They let this host rob the customers. Money is their only interest. Show details

Too complicated trying to book

Tried to make a booking which seemed OK to begin with. Then had to prove who I was by sending a photo of my driving licence. Thought it was odd but sort of understood the reasons. Trouble was I got emails from airbnb saying the photos weren't clear enough. Tried several times but as I'm not a tech wizard didn't know how to improve the photo. So just gave up and cancelled instead. Far too difficult and stressful. Hope I don't get hacked now. Show details

Be very careful booking with Airbnb

It turns out our host is actually a real estate agent who the night before our booking insisted on us signing a completely different set of terms and conditions outside of Airbnb and requiring our credit card details for any costs to the owner including $50 for a dirty BBQ. Very disappointing

Misleading service and borderline illegal behaviour

We cancelled our holiday and originally asked for a booking credit not knowing it meant we are not entitled to a cash refund. We cancelled months outside of any penalties according to their policies and when questioned they simply indicated it’s part of their terms and conditions, I think someone needs to start regulating the way Airbnb operates, clearly dodgy business practices and overpriced accomodation. Do not use them to book your accommodation. Accommodation was rubbish, service from Airbnb was a joke, and even more laughable when they say their community is built on trust, reliability and authenticity. Run the other way they are the worst. Show details

Cancellations and terrible customer support

If you cancel as a guest you can still be paying half the cost of the booking BUT if your booking is cancelled by the host with no time to rebook similar accomodation all you’ll get out of Airbnb in compensation is $AUD40 of Airbnb credit to be spent within 3 days.
If you have any issues with a property the customer support system makes it very hard to contact an AirBnB representative. Your case will then be passed from person to person with no passing on of information. They will not provide any contact phone number outside of the USA. Absolutely abysmal. Show details

Disgusting property and generic unhelpful Customer service

Only used once before which was ok, this time we had problems and it was a cluster fck, inaccurate listing, big maintenance issues (dripping tap all throughout our stay), health concerns with mould throughout enough of a problem we cut our holiday short (My wife’s 40th Bday) lodged a complaint with Airbnb but just because we didn’t report with in 72hours of arriving (which we didn’t know) we were pushed aside and told to bad. These corporate sized companies have no idea what real customer service is and they are also acting outside Consumer laws we have here in Australia and protecting poor hosts that keep crappy properties. Some hosts are appalling

I had 2 bad experience with Airbnb stay in Feb 2020. After these 2 stays, I felt that the hosts actually didn't like the guests at all, they host just because of money. On my first day of arrival, they were already very disgusting - gave me a key that didn't work, but blamed me for not knowing how to use it. My second host was very rude when I didn't know that they turned off light when we were not in the living room. Show details

As a guest I found this experience horrifying and the last I will ever have with Airbnb. The host, [Name Removed], lied prior to booking. Extremely immoral in that my friend was unwell and she would not let me change my date of the booking. Airbnb also very poor handling of situation. Would not acknowledge hosts lies. Extremely untrustworthy company. Very poor morals. Airbnb saying it was up to the host to accept while the host was saying it was up to Airbnb. Show details

Airbnb booked 23 July , $4.5k paid in full 16 September as requested. Airbnb cancelled booking 24hrs before check in and won't reply to email. 7 of us flying into Newcastle tomorrow with no where to stay. How is this legal?? Show details

This has to be the worst company I have ever had to deal with!

To make the booking I had to pay first, Then the operator said we can set up the account now, which in itself was a nightmare, it is still not sorted That was 6 months ago, and with rather a large amount of money in the account that I still do not have. I believe that Airbnb itself is a shonkey operator. And suggest people use Stays or Booking.com Show details

Rudest AirBNB Ever!

I am both speechless and appaled by how rude this AirBnB host is. Such a pity for the Property owner that he is actually managing the property for because this Person has no human compassion at all. I cannot find and understand the instructions, and that aggravated the Host. Yelled and swore at me and I mean F word , the whole works. Then told me he will cancel the booking. So I was there on the street appaled, speechless and at the same time trying to figure out what to do. I have been with airbnb for 11 years and all my reviews as a Guest have been outstanding. But because of this, I will cancel my airbnb account hoping this will prompt AirBnB to contact me so I can raise this incident. Show details

Lies and Inaccuracies by host that is supported by AirBnN

We stayed at Kallara House in Maribyrnong Hosted by [Name Removed].
The worst place to bring your family. The house was dirty and we had domestic disputes for the home being let on AirBNB by our host.
1. The banged on the door to ask us not to park on the street where I asked prior as we had 2 SUV’s that needed parking.
2. It was perfectly legal
3. They called the cops on us and the host did nothing
4. AirBnB stuck their head in the sand with all the policy and fine print.
5. The host [Name Removed] lied and reviewed me negatively
6. AirBnB will never be used again.

Hosts asked for photos and scanned IDs of ALL guests online post booking

With so much cyber security issues and breaches, asking for photos of ALL guests and their IDs is not something I am happy to do. Worst is some were through third party links where I don't even know how they will keep my data secured. I don't want to end up with million dollar debt because someone use my ID to access loans.

Sometimes it wasn't stated in the booking process (happy to skip bookings that ask for that up front), and only ask for it after booking and payment went through. Show details

Airbnb-Refund policy assists host to steal deposit money

Do not book accommodation from Airbnb unless you read cancellation policy before you booking

- I booked 4 nights accommodation in Highest cost effective studio in Box Hill for my tenants and was required to pay $158 booking fee upfront.
- I cancelled a month before check in as Tenants change mind.
- The hosts have kept all of the deposit citing "Airbnb's refund policy".
- I contacted the Airbnb resolution. Resolution has notified that the hostshave refused to consider a refund citing "hosts' refund policy".

Airbnb assists hosts to steal money for services and products that are not provided, and claim nothing they could do about it.
