Alannah Hill
Hit & Miss but great when it's a Hit
I have been ordering from Alannah Hill online for the last 12 months (most recent delivery last week). It takes a couple of weeks for the items to arrive (I'm in Sydney) and they can be hit & miss with both the item quality and customer service. I've been happy about 75% of the time and on those occasions the clothes were extremely beautiful, particularly the velvet clothing (I have a stunning black dress & a pair of dark blue palazzo pants). The three or four items I haven't liked looked poor quality in both fabric and design & I returned them...
Read more. On one occasion they delivered the wrong size but by the time I received it, they were out of stock on the correct size. On another occasion my order didn't arrive at all. I had to chase it up with them (they hadn't noticed the tracking number never left the warehouse). On yet another occasion I ordered a dress in my size successfully only to be told two days later it was out of stock. So in summary, most of the clothes are gorgeous and they add a few new items most days which sell out quickly ..... kind of drip feeding customers for some reason (possibly correct they are liquidising). So as I said, hit & miss, but I think it's worth it and continue to place orders.- Product Quality

Happy with my purchase.
I bought 5 items from the online store, ordered on Tuesday and it arrived on Wednesday the following week. Everything was in a single soft packing slip, wrapped in tissue paper, it was a bit crumpled but otherwise unharmed. There was also no signature required for the package which surprised me because it was a costly purchase and I would have been pretty annoyed if porch pirates got it (a problem in my area) - I would happily pay more for better shipping.
The products were beautiful and fit perfectly - just how I imagined.

Love the clothes, Pity about the service
I've received my order which I love all the clothes just 1 dress doesn't suit.
I've been trying to contact via email and telephone today to receive a return authorisation number for the 1 dress, however, no body has responded all day. Even contacted the Sydney QVB Store who gave me a different number to call.. tried that and the number isn't even connected! Leave for a 5 week holiday overseas on Sunday and now stressing that I'll be stuck with a dress I won't be able to return when I get back.(unless of course, I travel 1 hour to the CBD tomorrow and hope there's something in store I can swap for as they won't refund or provide a credit). I agree that the 3 months validity for a credit voucher is unacceptable.

A decent-ish brand but improvements needed.
Alannah Hill is a decent-ish brand, however the main concern is with the quality of the products. On a skirt I wanted to buy from the boutique, the zip was slanted due to the poor sewing/workmanship, and the pleats were all creased in a way which looked like a defect with the item. That was disappointing as I loved the skirt. Also the dress I bought had a small quality issue in a certain spot, where some of the material had come undone.
Hence there are some issues with product quality. Some of the clothes are quite nice but the prices are q...
Read moreuite expensive for what the products are. The sales are quite decent but not everything is put on sale (i.e things I actually want). Also some designs unfortunately are aimed at women who have no chest and are un-curvy, as some of the tops/clothes don't sit well on those who actually have greater endowments/curves. They need to cater to a wider range of women's body shapes. Designs and prints are a bit of a hit and miss at times. The staff in the store are generally helpful, in the city/Highpoint store, depending on staff, good at suggesting other clothes and alternatives. I am also disappointed that they closed the Highpoint store (with no warning!), now the closest one is very inconvenient to get to so I won't be shopping at this brand much as I can't buy online due to not knowing if the item is suitable/sizing. At least customer service was helpful and apologetic about that!- 9 reviews

Beaded and sequined dresses
I usually buy the Alannah Hill silk dresses which are really beautiful and well made. I have made a foray into the beaded and sequined dresses. While they also look lovely, I have found that the beading and sequins come off very easily and unravel in long threads (and some were already off when I took the dress out of the postal package). At first I thought it was just the particular dress I received, but have just received another dress with the same issue. I have asked for a discount given the dresses were faulty and am hoping the customer service will be good and that there will be some reasonable response even if it's some meaningful amount of store credit. Will provide update.

Great service disappointing product
Ok so I went to the Alannah hill Essendon dfo store with a new born. I was greeted and asked if I needed assistance and I did I asked for some size 10 dresses for a wedding I was going to. My bubs wanted to feed so I said to the girl I'll come back. In the mean time she was lovely enough to have picked out a few dresses for me to try on. I came back and found a pretty dress that hid my still looking pregnant belly perfectly except it was missing 1 button on the side. In hindsite I should have taken that one I asked if there was one with all the...
Read more buttons intact. I asked them to hold it for me being a dress that cost $164 that if I didn't have a baby I could have sewn myself I had to work up the courage to spend that much on a dress. I came back purchased the dress the dress stayed in the bag till I was getting ready to go to the wedding. I pulled out the dress and pure disappointment I was in tears although the button that had been missing on the original dress were there the button on the inside of the wrap dress was missing and the eye of the hook and I that held the front of the dress were missing and it was 20 mins till I had to leave. All I could do was take off one of the 2 buttons on the outside and sew it onto the inside of the dress and cut up an old bra to sew an eye on the dress other wise I would not have had anything to wear. My night was ruined I couldn't move past it I was already self conscious about my post baby body I was worried the dress was going to fall open cause the button and the hook that were there I felt they were going to fall of at any moment. If I didn't have to wear the dress I would have taken it back. I was an Alannah hill fan and still am just so diassapointed with the experience. What was supposed to be a treat turned into a nightmare.Poor quality clothing
Bought a lace dress for a wedding, fitted perfectly. Was dry cleaned on recommendation by Alannah Hill website but gro grain ribbon around the waist shrunk badly rendering it unwearable. When reported to them, they did not want to know about it!! Turned off Alannah Hill now.
