BAD, the claim is pain
I have lodged claims couples times, sometimes it goes through and sometimes not. Last time I called them up to check why I still haven't got my claim back. The person on the phone said they got no claim email from me. So I forwarded again during phone call, asked her if she got it, she said it will take a couple of hours or days to go through... last time to make the claim since I do not bother to go back and forward to just check if my email went through. Anyway, I cannot wait for getting my PR, so I no longer wasted my money and time on this terrible health insurance.1 comment

Waste of money - as no suspension in the policy allowed- loss customers
I was very upset, when I come to know that there is no suspension of policy allowed in allianz. At the time of taking the policy policy number: 6136750. for my FATHER- nobody told me about that. Now I come to know I need to continue paying the premium of the policy to avoid the waiting period as my father will be overseas as no suspension allowed. policy number: 6136750.
Not happy with the tricks allianz did with me, as i need to pay the premium even if my father will not be here. One of my friend has BUPA - COVER for his father and he suspended the policy and continue when his father is back.
This way ALLIANZ will loose all future customers and existing one also

And also u cover 85 % gp and lab tests not 100%
Rather than improving work on these issues.... Bupa had same few years back but now they are covering... 100%

Avoid this is a light day robbery
I paid for nearly a year my visitor health cover which I made barely 3 claims with extremely delays in the money refund about a month waiting,blast week a got a call from one of their awfully mannered costumer service telling me they won be able to provide more awful service as Im a visa dependant and I need to convince my partner to pay for it too that I could take my money and go somewhere else ,is this even legal to being treated like this I feel scammed .also the money rebate it's not even worth it so save your money and travel

Doesn't even provide an option to suspend a policy
I bought the OVHC Visitors Plus policy for my parents over 2.5 years ago which has been continually active since. Now that my parents have left the country for a few months, I requested Allianz OVHC if they can temporarily suspend the policy for a few months until they come back. However, they declined and advised that they do not offer any Pause in the policy and the only option was to cancel the policy. The cancellation would mean that the waiting periods would need to be reserved.

I would suggest viewers reading this review to find other better alternatives i.e. BUPA etc., rather than taking out and keeping an Allianz policy by paying similar premiums but no benefits compared to other providers. I had to call the customer service number 3-4 times just to reach an agent. My calls kept dropping from the queue, end up giving up and calling after 3 days.1 comment

Visa requirement only
Thanks, did not want to use insurance though I have to have a visitor cover -a visa condition. Just a another way of making tourists spending in country, no value

Most of the ailments are in 12 month waiting period which are not inline with Visitor visa period.
Not value for money. Stayed for 8 months. Most of the ailments are in 12 month waiting period for Visitor visa which is max 12 month stay. I see this is as dodgy as no one met this condition.

Awesome service, perfect support while in overseas.
Easy to set up insurance. Resolve the claim efficiently, responding quickly. Nice staff there help you out. Feel worthy to purchase it from allianz. Good experience so far with allianz.

Good product and good services
I visited them at their La Trobe on campus office for some claims and met Oshc rep Vaibhav, he helped me in processing my claims and explaining about the policy.

Terrible! They do not make payments in full, take up to a week to respond to email if they reply at all, put you on hold
One claim has taken over 8 months to be paid and is still not sorted despite multiple calls and emails to the company. Each staff member gives conflicting information and doesn't help with the problem.

Very slow response time
Emails are not responded to in a timely fashion. Reimbursement of out of pocket expenses is usually by check or sent to Australian bank accounts, which are not viable options for most visitors. ACH requests to the visitors home country are penalized with a $20.00 fee and are not sent in a timely fashion. No one is able to give a date of when the ACH will be processed. Allianz sent a check to an Australian address after they were informed I was no longer in Australia. They said they would stop payment and send the ACH as originally requested. It...Read more

Nightmare!!
Ages for call response, then pay FIRST and claim later. Whats covered? Ask your doctor!! Really!!! Had to cut short visit and rush back home for treatment taking radiology & lab request with him. Omg!!!

Service not used.
My girlfriend visits Australia often, usually for 3 months at a time. We have taken out a policy with Alianz a number of times and have yet to use it. Maybe you should offer a discount at the end of policy for people such as us!

The service is terrible, won't choose them again
My dad had an eye surgery cost 6 thousand dollars, they only paid one third of the amount for us. Plus they keep asking for all sorts of documents here and overseas to proof it's not a fraud. So fed up with them after all these.

Experience with Allianz
I've just paid insurance charge for last two years but haven't got a chance to get any service. Thanks to god for keeping me healthy. But I can tell that Allianz is a good company from the fact that a friend of mine who was hospitalized in Footscray hospital got all his surgery cost recovered within a two weeks of time. And it also has a lot of pharmacy associated with it where my friend got free dressing service.

Happy to use Allianz !!!
I have used the Allianz OVHC for my father and mother. My father had to be admitted to the hospital and Allianz covered the major cost without making any problems for us as it was not the pre-existing condition. For my mother, insurance was hardly used in her stay and now when she is left, I had to terminate it.
I am definitely not happy about it as I learnt that in other insurance covers you can start freeze it when parents leave the country and its possible for 9 months. You can pay 1 month to keep the service active, in this way you do not...Read more
lose the waiting period. I am really disappointed that after paying for about 6 months, I will need to restart her cover from scratch when she will come back next year. This might be the only reason why I will not choose Allianz for her next visit. My father is still here and I using Allianz for his cover. November 5th 2019 Update: Allianz Overseas visitors Health cover is great. I selected Allianz OVHC for my parents when they were travelling to Australia earlier this year. The reason to select them was a nice chat with their staff on the phone. Unfortunately, my father had to go through a major surgery while he was in Australia and thankfully Allianz covered all the major costs without bothering us as we were already quite worried about his health. My father has been visiting specialist doctors and its also covered. It will be much better to have insurance cards to some or all of the payments can be made directly. Also insurance card does not work at the laboratories which should help as well.1 comment
