Great job all round
Everything went perfectly with our move. Packers did a great job as did the removalists. Nothing broken or scratched. Bed and dresser assembled for us on arrival. Boxes and packaging collected the following week. Highly recommended.
I had the contents of my two bedroom apartment on Level 8 of a Melbourne CBD apartment tower moved to second floor apartment in Nelson Bay in NSW. The pickup and delivery went exactly to schedule with no breakages or damage. The empty boxes were picked up a week after the delivery, and I was glad to see them go. A "no hassle" move.
NEVER EVER use Allied Pickford, you may as well have walked your stuff to your next destination
I had 14 tea chest size boxes going to Hong Kong and was told it would be take 6-10 weeks, with a boat leaving every week. I was the one who had to chase the company down to find out where my boxes were and when they would be delivered. They sat in some disgusting storage facility for 11 weeks before even being put on a boat. I contacted the national freight manager [name removed] who offered my no help and ignored my correspondence. The company claimed it was because they had a few other orders cancelled and couldn't put it on an earlier shipm...ent as there was not enough and it would cost me more. However, at no point was I told this and given the offer to pay more in order to ensure my belongings arrived. When they finally reached Hong Kong, three months later, the company again changed the rules in correspondence. They said it would take 5-7 days to clear customs, so I locked in a day with Allied Pickfords that was 9 days after the goods arrived and organised a day off work. Two days before this delivery date- I went back to Allied Pickfords to confirm they were coming and they said the earliest I could get them would be 11 days later. Once again they changed the rules to suit their incompetence. My move - which really was not that hard- took the company 14.5 weeks to deliver. A far cry from the 6-10 weeks they spruik. There was no industrial action, no bad weather which they claim as a "get out clause". Simply incompetence and a total lack of communication on their behalf. What I am puzzled by, if I don't do my job I would be fired, but this company continually fails to do its job and its staff are incompetent, rude and fail to meet customer service expectations and deadlines yet they keep their jobs. At no point have they ever offered any alternative or resolution. I would never ever ever use them again.
A Good Responsible, Friendly, Helpful Team at Both Ends.
We started using Downard Pickfords in 2004 from Singapore to Melbourne. Then from McKinnon to Warragul, and Warragul to Wyndham Vale Vic. This final move included our car, from Wyndham Vale to Perth WA was of the same excellent service .
Do not use!!!
I moved from Melbourne to Brisbane using Allied Pickford. Everyone was very nice to deal with and told me how they were different from other removalists as they take care with all their deliveries and since it's their own movers. I did not pay for full coverage insurance as it was a bit more than I could afford but did ensure I insured all of my most important items. I bought boxes from a Fort Knox, a recommended company as many of my friends who have done this move before recommended the quality of the boxes. I waited two weeks for all of my i...tems to arrive in Brisbane which was fine, but once they arrived I cried over the state of everything. The delivery men on the Brisbane side were even visibly embarrassed at having to bring my items in wrapped in felt because nearly everything had been destroyed. Boxes clearly labelled all over "Fragile" had be left on the bottom of all the other boxes, completely crushed" large furniture items have large scratches or pieces torn off. I had to spend the rest of my day shifting through the wreckage to see what I could salvage. Honestly if this is what is considered a "Good" moving company, I would rather sell everything I own and just buy new when I get to my new destination. To say I am beyond disappointed is an understatement.
Great service and affordable
My father recently past so I was given half of the furniture to move from Melbourne to Perth Allied Pickards from the start delivered great customer service, it was affordable too but most of all I knew my valuables that had an emotional attachment to were going to be taken care of throughout transit from Melbourne to Perth. Anything not packed right for the safe delivery they packed it for you. Best service from start to finish. Highly recommended.
(1) We moved from Melbourne to Perth. Our move was kind of extra-large and two 20' containers were not sufficient for the entire shipment to go through. For reasons unknown, the date for the second pick up was changed from Thursday to Friday following day, which did cause us inconvenience because the second container was not enough to hold everything, so another AP crew had to come back on Monday to pick up the remaining 10 cubic metres or so, with repercussions on the bond cleaning, handing over the keys to the agent as well as on the disposal...of the inevitable rubbish that piles up in each removal. Our flight was on Saturday, with no options for rescheduling. Had it not been for the help we received from our wonderful neighbours, it would have never worked. (2) Quite a few boxes proved to be only partially filled by our items, with the remaining space occupied by filler-paper. (3) All team members were very professional and pleasant to deal with at all time. (4) The CEVA operator who picked our car was most likely trained in the Marine Corps. She was banging away at our front door around 7.30am, which was pick up time indeed, and almost going away at 7.36, which is when I met her in front of our house, after she'd been calling left right and center. Later I found FIVE voicemails from her company in the same timespan. Very rough indeed. Truth be told, car reached us in Perth after 14 days. >>> Overall satisfied, including the total price we paid.
Steer clear of these guys - very poor service
I recently utilized Allied Pickfords to relocate from Melbourne to Hong Kong. I found their service to be very poor, and as a result I suffered significant damage to my goods.
I experienced significant damage to my shipped goods as specified:
1. I was shipping a retro arcade games table. This was meant to be crated. I paid for the crate. When the packers came to my house, they said the crate was not yet built. They said they would transport the table to the depo/office, where it would be crated before shipment. It wa...s wrapped only in a single piece of plastic/foam, which was suitable if appropriate care was taken for the trip from my house, in the truck to the depo/office. When it arrived at my new home in HK, it was wrapped in the same material. It had not been crated. This packaging was completely insufficient for the international move (in fact - if I had not have organized for the crate, I'm sure the packers would have ensured a more secure pack). Consequently, the table is broken (it will no longer turn on - so the games cannot be played). It took a week to get confirmation that it had not been crated. I was not contacted at any time to confirm this by the Melbourne team who handled the crating. No apology has been provided by the Melbourne team, and I have received nothing in writing as of yet, despite requesting it as it will assist with my insurance claim. The Queensland Office did process a refund at my request for the cost of the crate. I found this whole incident, and the lack of care, and appropriate response from the Melbourne team to be outrageous. 2. I shipped an LP player. I provided the box the LP player came in. The packers put it back in the box, but did nothing to secure the needle, turn table etc. When it arrived at my house in HK, it was placed upside down in the box by the HK delivery person, despite a clear indication on the box of which way up it should be. I promptly turned it up the right way, and when he unpacked it, all the inner mechanisms were out of place and in a shambles. The cover and base are completely scratched. The needle is broken. The power cord is missing (I suspect it may have got caught up in the rubbish/packing that the HK based agents removed – as it was with the LP player at my home in Melbourne, and was not left behind). This LP player is no longer usable. 3. I shipped 3 sonos speakers. I provided the boxes they came in to the packers. They elected not to use them, as they said it was easier to pack them in their own boxes. When the speakers arrived, the cord of the most expensive one had snapped. This is now unable to be used as it is an electrical hazard. Snapping the cord would not have been easy – and shows that a lack of care was taken in packing the speaker. 4. The seal on our coffee machine has been damaged. The machine worked perfectly in Melbourne, however, upon arriving in HK – the seal has somehow been damaged during transit – meaning that high pressure boiling water is expelled from the machine during use. It no longer is functional.
Find someone else to do the job
I used them on a move from Melbourne to Perth. The guys packing up in Melb were great, and the guys unpacking in Perth were great.. but somewhere in the middle it all went wrong. When the drivers showed up they were the ones left to tell me that only half had of my items had been sent... the rest was still in Melbourne.
It took another month for the rest to arrive.
There was damage to irreplaceable items, family heirlooms, custom furniture from overseas. And there were still boxes missing from the second delivery!

Worst Service Ever!
I don't normally write these kinds of reviews but am keen to warn others in this case.
After doing some research and based on the reviews on this site we chose Allied Pickfords for our move (6 Bedrooms with office furniture 15mins north of our location). Initial visit was pleasant and quote was provided for what was to be a single day move for what seemed to be more expensive than others - but we wanted a pain free "careful" move, so we went ahead. There seemed to be lots of paperwork and inventory items to check off, this did not help us a...s this move was unexpected for us and at the busiest time of the year. My wife signed the paperwork and sent it back to her appointed contact. Thinking that we had booked the move we were shocked to find a couple of weeks later we my wife contacted them to confirm, only to find that apparently we had only signed one part of the paperwork not all of it. As a result they could no longer move us on the required date. So rather than followup with us, we had to chase them only to find that they could no longer provide the service on the day we needed it. They did offer to move us a day later, so we agreed but chose another mover to move boxes on the scheduled date and reduced the inventory for Allied to the bigger items (roughly half). Let's just say there was a huge difference between movers, the first ones were helpful, friendly, could not go out of their way more to put us at ease and to work with us to co-ordinate what needed to be moved and when - I'd give them a 9/10. The Allied Pickfords staff, particularly their co-ordinator was rude, assertive and in every conversation reminded us about how they were to only take items on the inventory. They made very little attempt to co-ordinate which items should be moved first, and we found ourselves running around trying to work around them rather than the reverse as we found the previous day.

Outshine their competitors
From the outset, Allied Pickfords outshine their competitors for their professionalism, excellent quality service, punctuality and providing a seamless service when I was temporarily moving out of my apartment for renovations. Their short term storage facility also made life easy. A representative came, prepared a quote which I received later that day via email.
The packers were punctual, professional, hardworking and respectful of possessions. I received all my furnishings back in one piece, no damage or breakages. New wooden floors and no scratches moving in.
Don’t waste your time with anyone else, this team are brilliant.
Thanks AlliedPickfords Geelong!
Absolute hassle free and awesome service
Personal goods in 20 boxes were moved interstate (long distance ) and yes it was approximately on expected date of delivery. Items reached intact without any damage at all.

WILL USE AGAIN
I x Niagara Massage chair (90kg) from Bendigo to Brisbane.
They were excellent, picked up the item on time and stored till I was available for delivery.
Very well packed and protected.
2 men to unload and place it where I wanted.
The best quote I received and will use them again.
The staff were all excellent to deal with.
We moved from a 4bedroom house in Melbourne to regional Victoria. On time, helpful and incredibly friendly movers - not one think damaged or broken.
Shattered, like much of my breakables
Pickfords moved my furniture from Melbourne port to my house after shipping it from London. The communication was terrible I had to keep calling up to get updates. I paid extra for difficult access. The movers turned up in a truck and a ute and took all my furniture from the truck to house in the ute. They manhandled and dropped boxes. As a result I have a good 15 damaged items some of them antiques which are irreplaceable including a dining set that was 100 years old. All dinner plates smashed! And a clock from the 1930s. Glass smashed and I c...an't replace it. When I raised it with the admin group there is no interest to discuss it. I'm so frustrated and upset I find it difficult to talk about it. I couldn't possibly recommend them to anyone. Especially after paying a small fortune for the disservice!

pickup straight forward and organised
We had a 4x2 house. The pickup was organised and professional. All 3 men were cheerful, polite and knew what they were doing.
Very professional service
I was very happy with my move using Allied Pickford. I was a bit stressed about the move so they sent out a representative to go through it with me, giving me an accurate assessment of how many metres and a quote right away. Mine was a large move, 5 bedroom house. It was from Victoria to far North Queensland. On the day of packing, the men arrived on time, were very respectful and handled all my things with care. On the day of delivery, again they arrived on time were very respectful, careful with my things. They unpacked my furniture, put it i...n place and took away the packing. I would definitely go with Allied Pickford again and would highly recommend them. A big thanks to Allied Pickford for all your help and taking away my move anxiety.

Would use them again
Interstate move Vic to NSW - 3 bedroom home. Staff very punctual, friendly, efficient and professional. However we were disappointed with their insurance company.
My sister is legally vision-impaired. She requested Allied Pickford (AP) pack up her house, and then unpack her in the same suburb on 9 January 2017. AP verbally quoted her around $2100. Neither my sister nor her carer received a written quote.
On the day, AP packed only a few cupboards in the kitchen. I rang to query this and was emailed a written quote saying they would pack the kitchen and dining rooms only. I then pointed out they'd left several kitchen cupboards and the pantry still full, plus the garage. I insisted they come out aga...
Brilliant service all round
A few months ago I wrote a very long detailed review which has somehow vanished from this site. So here's the short version. We moved internationally a large house full of antiques and delicate items. We did a competitive bidding process between four companies and felt that Allied had the best combination of price and service. At every step of the way, they did a brilliant job. Excellent communication from Sales through to Logistics, high quality packing materials, polite hardworking load/unload crews, everything carefully packed, arrived and d...elivered on time and made the most of the container space in minimising our costs. That we had only minor breakages considering what was moved was nothing short of miraculous. We can be harsh critics, but in this case we have nothing but praise for the people at Allied Pickfords' Melbourne office.
Would definitely use again
4bed full house move from Vic to Qld. Amazing fast crew, well packed and no breakages. Fantastic consultant. Very professional.
Great work ethic. Fast and easy to deal with.
2-3 bedroom house moving from.
Adelaide to Melbourne. Everything was done in great time. Workers were very easy to deal with.

We had to move our 3 bedroom house contents plus shed bits a short distance in Heathcote, Victoria. The move was in two stages and involved storage and multiple drops. All aspects were completed effectively and efficiently from a time and duration perspective. I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank Mr. Graeme Harrison and his team for their professionalism, patience and outstanding customer service. Graeme went out of his way to assist and support our move. He is a huge asset to your organisation and I hope this is recognised and rewarded.
We will always use and recommend the Allied Pickfords and the Bendigo group in particular.
I engaged Allied Pickfords to move my stuffs from Hong Kong to Launceston, Tasmania. My stuffs arrived Melbourne by ship on 27th June 2016. I was advised by the staff both in Hong Kong and at Melbourne that the custom clearance would take 10-14 days. After some calls, I was only advised by the Melbourne office on 14th July 2016 that the customs did not agree to release my stuffs as I did not indicate my exact address at destination. I amended relevant forms accordingly on the same day to provide my exact address at destination at Launceston. O...n 19th July 2016, the staff at Melbourne office informed me that the customs agreed to release my stuffs. Per e-mail communication with the staff at Melbourne office on 20th July, I was given to understand they were waiting on confirmation when my stuffs would depart Melbourne for Devonport. On 25th July 2016, I gave a call to the Melbourne office again who advised that my stuffs were on their way. They had to be sent by ship and then again by train from Hobart to Devonport. Today (27th July 2016), I gave a call to the Devonport Office. The staff advised, differently, that my stuffs are still in Melbourne as they have to wait for the container to be filled up (as my stuffs are not enough to fill up the container!). Whatever might be the reason, such conflicting advice as to the status of my stuffs is simply unsatisfactory. This is not to mention undue delay which causes much disruption to daily life. Moreover, I need to keep giving a call to check the status of my stuffs with no prompt update from the concerned staffs at the relevant offices.
Not the cheapest but efficient and reliable
We moved from Melbourne to Mandurah in WA. We found that Allied Pickford were not the cheapest but they were responsive to requests for information and constantly changing inventory (thank you Penny). The packing guys were quick and efficient and so were the guys who delivered the goods in WA. We decided against taking out insurance because it was expensive and everything arrived in one piece - no breakages - we were very happy. As I said, not the cheapest, but we would use them again. We also sent our car with their sub-contractor and, again, it arrived safely and on time.
