Careless and poor allocation of resources.
I have booked Allied for a move within Canberra. They advised during the quote process that they could not be responsible for dismantling our large display cabinet but could send a couple of people to pack items in it so we could dismantle in prep for the move. The guys arrived and used my antique dining table as a packing surface without covering it first. They stuck tape to it and on removing the tape removed the French polish. The table is also covered in LOTS of scratches.
When contacted about this the move manager has completely ignored me...

Great service but issue with using plastic wrapping sheets
We moved a full containers worth of household goods from NSW to WA. When we were quoted we were advised that all furniture would be wrapped in blankets to protect it. The quoting service was fantastic and quick. [name removed], the lady in the office answered my questions quickly. The 2 guys doing the uplift were fast and efficient and we noted that they wrapped all the furniture very carefully in thick coloured plastic sheeting. This is where things went wrong! Our container was transported to WA by road and train which we assume caused the go...ods to vibrate. The container arrived on time and the goods were delivered to our home in WA on the arranged day. We did not arrive for another month due to Covid travel restrictions and were very upset to find that large areas of our furniture had sustained severe friction burns which we think were caused by the plastic sheeting rubbing as there was obvious colour transfer from the coloured sheeting. One area of a bed base actually had soot around it and looked as though it may have come close to ignition. Luckily we had taken out a separate insurance with "Carts" and they have paid to replace or repair the damage but we are obviously very disappointed . We can't fault the customer service we received from Allied Pickfords but I think they need to seriously review the practice of wrapping furniture in plastic sheeting.
A less than ideal experience.
4 bedroom house and a car from Perth to Wollongong. Not enough boxes sent with the packers the day before so packing was completed on the day of the move. Absolute chaos with both packers and movers in the house. Although I was told a second container would be needed, only one turned up, the rest had to be crammed into two hastily sent vans, to be packed into a container at their depot. There was a bungle with the booking of the car move, so the dates I was given for departure and arrival were changed last minute which left me hundreds of dolla...rs out of pocket when I had to change and extend rental car arrangements. The arrival in Wollongong of the first container was two and a half hours later than the stated time with no contact to let us know it was running late. After it was unloaded and we started to unpack, we discovered some of the fairly essential things that wouldn’t arrive until the balance of load came in a couple of weeks....the slats from my sons bed, our bedding and most of the contents of my kitchen cupboards among them. No date was given for its arrival, just a sudden phone call nearly two weeks later to say it would be there next morning and it wasn’t the whole balance of load, there’s still 2 cubic metres somewhere in transit. There were however some things that weren’t mine I had to send back with the truck that some poor soul is probably wondering what became of them. I’ve received a verbal apology from Allied and I am waiting to see if there will be any reimbursement of the extra cost from the car transport bungle. This is just a brief summary, there was more, on the whole it was a distressing experience and not what I would have expected from a company I had good dealings with in the past.

Perth to Port Hedland
Our move was from Perth to Port Hedland.
3x2 house to a 2x1.
The move happened on time. I did feel once I signed the contract that the 'ask any questions' communication, friendliness stopped.
One of our draws had a leg snap off and it was just placed in the room, obviously they knew it broke because I found the leg in the draw, it would of been nice to be told about it. Other than that nothing else was broken.

Check Delivery Invoice
Move involved 2 bedroom unit from Coolangatta to Toowoomba in November 2018. Items were lost or misplaced and other items damaged. Management adamant they had not lost my goods! Foolishly on my part, I signed delivery docket without counting the cartons. It was a most disappointing experience for someone in their late seventies.

My Marshall amp came with. Boot hole in it
Small amount of household items going from Queensland to Tasmania.
No actual time frame given for delivery so we didn't know what would happen.
When belongings were delivered the fist box out was a Marshall amplifier.. It had a big hole right in the centre of the box that looked to me like a boot mark.
Our tall boy was rickety and needs rebuilding. This was a new item.
I signed a form for damaged goods. The delivery guys who were polite said I would be contacted in a day or so by the devonport office. I was never contacted.
Good decent service
I had to move interstate from qld to nsw and selected allied as suggested by friends
Good packers but would love if they categorise and name inventory properly like wat items in box
I would use them again but will be little prepared next time good customer service throughout really liked the way they followed up
Not happy with communication
Delivery staff were very organised and friendly.
However let down by office staff communication. After 9 phone calls including a call to central management, I had my boxes collected 1 month after delivery.

Individuals make the difference
Move from 3 bedroom house to apartment from WA to NSW. Local staff who did the actual move in Bunbury WA were fantastic, great phone manner, professional, arrived on time, took care when removing goods, friendly and personable.
WA staff in charge of organising the process less so. Careless in listening to messages. Not clear in instructions. Casual phone manner not appropriate for a company.
NSW staff on the unpacking end arrived on time, did the job required. Manner was not as pleasant, introducing yourself is important as is politeness.
No qualms with the job itself, all items arrived as promised. Conducting oneself in a professional, courteous and kindly manner would take it to the next level. Bunbury staff should feel proud.
We moved from Adelaide to Tasmania with Allied Pickfords. It was a mixed experience. The essentials box was full of TV remotes and cords, not a kettle or a couple of cups to drink out of or tea bags or coffee. I have to tell you when I have just arrived, having moved thousands of kilometres, I don't care about the television, I want to be able to have a drink without having to sort through 600 boxes to find the kettle or a pot to boil water in!! They claim to be "The careful movers", this is debateable. Multiple items of furniture were scratche...d, the upright lamp was snapped in half, the leg on an antique chair was sheered in half and multiple other pieces of minor damage have been uncovered. Did they wrap the crockery and glasses well? YES, that was very well done, as was much of the packing but there was also a lot of carelessness present. Small things like our clock radio (which they used to listen to music whilst they packed as they didn't bring a radio with them) was just thrown in the back of the truck, not even packed in a box. It fell out of the container and hit the driveway when they opened the container door - not good form! Generally the job was well done BUT there was too much damage for me to agree that they are the careful movers. Would I use them again - doubtful.

Small hiccups but overall happy with service
I was moving from my small two bedroom in Mackay to the Gold Coast during one of the busiest times of the year - Christmas!
Was quick and easy getting a quote and were somewhat accommodating for the day we needed to leave the premise, I understood that getting the day (especially being so close to Christmas) may have been challenging. We asked weeks in advance for a morning removal as we were to be driving back to the Gold Coast on that same day our furniture was picked up, but they could not fit us in until 1pm. That afternoon we had no co...ntact with Allied, even when the truck was 2 hours late, nor did they return my phone calls. The removal was smooth and quick when they did arrive. They finally finished at 5.30pm which meant we spent the evening and the following morning driving and had to find extra money for accommodation expenses, something that we did not intend on doing. The furniture was delivered on the planned date to the premise on the Gold Coast, but on delivery it was found that the leg of my buffet had been snapped clean of (this would have occurred in Mackay) and left in the set of draws to later be discovered. I was pretty disappointed that the staff in Mackay had 'forgotton/failed' to tell us about this when it happened. I also found that my TV cabinet had been pulled apart and screws (etc) had become lost. The Gold Coast staff were lovely though, helped place everything where it needed to be, did not feel rushed, supplied blankets to cover furniture being stored in the garage and explained how to claim the items on insurance. Although there were a few hiccups along the way (which is to be expected- nothing major either) they were very competitive for price and I would use their services again. Did what we asked with little hassle
Moved 20km, completed in a timely manner with minimal damage to items. Ensure that you are aware of insurance policy!
March 2nd 2015 Update:
Easy to deal with and packers worked in a timely manner. Unpacked was completed with minimal hassle. Packers were polite and careful.
Your company is the one to provide a spacial treatment to the customers not you are a special person
I have been trying to get quotes from several companies as my relocation is AU to US. An employee who came to check my items were toooooo confident that he is from allied packford. However, it seems like he has a lack of experience for making quotes for the customers as his estimate size was 2cubic meters higher than other 4 companies. I asked explained him but he believed what he made quote is no doubt.
I preferred to use one company which would support for all my items until they get arrived to new place in US. However, at the last moment I...
Ok but overpriced
After previous bad experiences I wanted to go with a big name company. They were friendly and helpful but the cost of their insurance is exorbitant. We didn't take the insurance as our contents policy covered a certain amount and we just hoped the container didn't burn down. The men who did the actual moving were good and very can-do, but they managed to break our outdoor table by packing it incorrectly.
In the actual move they were very good, nothing was too hard
Managed to break our outdoor table, insurance is a ridiculous cost.

My daughter is moving from Sydney to Tasmania her furniture will only fill half a container.
I believe she has to wait for the container to be filled before it is shipped.
With your experience on average how long will she have to wait for her container to be shipped to Tasmania I realise that you can not give me a definite time period I'm after an average.
