Interstate move, packing services were atrocious. I found appliances thrown in with other items with no padding. Most furniture damaged to some extent definitely not careful movers. You pay for a premium service expecting upmost care, not here I have moved a lot in the past and this has to be the worst most disappointing yet! The move stickers were not placed in inconspicuous places and the is white marks on every piece on my furniture. They didn’t bring enough boxes?! Save your money and furniture and look elsewhere. Only good thing my belongings arrived! But I was in tears devastated at the state and quality. All inclusive services were not provided either.
Expensive, but not careful – damaged and lost items
Private move from Perth to Melbourne, then to Sydney, with 3 months storage at Allied Pickfords in Dandenong. I only had 9 cubic meters worth of goods; most items were packed in cardboard or plastic boxes. I packed everything myself and padded fragile items with bubble wrap, clothes, or blankets. This worked well for all items that were stored in sturdy cardboard boxes. Some items arrived damaged, others didn’t arrive at all.
The good: The crew picking up and delivering my belongings was friendly, quick, and careful with the loading and unloa...ding of boxes. Plastic covers for a carpet and mattress were provided by AP. [name removed] provided exceptional customer service. She is an asset to the company. The bad: The inventory list the subcontractors provided while delivering the goods in Sydney was incomplete. I created my own inventory while packing up in Perth. This list allowed me to check if everything that left Perth arrived at its final destination. A carpet and a large plastic box were not on the list provided by AP. Luckily the subcontractors spotted the carpet during handover and added it to the inventory. The box is still missing and Allied Pickfords have not followed up. AP uses contractors and subcontractors to handle moves. After getting quotes from several companies, I picked AP because they assured me that they do not use subcontractors. I paid a lot of money expecting my belongings would be handled with care, by professionals who received respective training. Alas, I could have saved myself at least $1000 and picked any other company. The subcontractors delivering my belongings in Sydney apologised for the damaged items, said they had been picked up in that state, and that AP does not allow sufficient time for items to be handled with care. As a result, the boxes are often thrown from one truck to another. This is indeed what many of the boxes looked like.

Very poor follow up
We moved from Melbourne to Ballina which included a few weeks of storage in the Melbourne facility. The collection from our Melbourne house was perfect and it was then put in storage.
We then purchased a place in Ballina and the furniture, 63 boxes, was delivered ahead of us arriving. 63 boxes were checked by a friend on arrival and he noted that 2 boxes had different names on them which we informed allied about.
We arrived in Ballina a week later and started unpacking and again informed Allied about the 2 boxes with wrong names. These were th...

Would not recommend
Our move started and finished on time.
However before my move I was assured that our Lounge and matteresses would be wrapped in plastic and other big expensive items would be wrapped for protection. Unfortunately this did not occur.
When we asked them about the plastic for our lounge in particular, we where told they didn't have big enough plastic for it even though we told them the size of it beforehand.
They seemed to be worried more about getting it done as quickly as possible rather then delivering our goods in a clean, undamaged condition.
I would not recommend or go through these guys again.
One of the worst experiences of our lives.
Never have I been so stressed with moving. Crew were late apparently after an added job and they rushed with absolutely no regards to our valued possessions. Crew at other end commented it was packed very ordinary. Artwork, bikes etc was promised to be boxed but were covered with wet coverings left on driveway during the rain. Boxes marked fragile were turned upside down, tubs were dropped and shattered. Seriously a horrible experience. Contact was made but ignored after many communications. Seriously could not condemn a business more. Better o...ff spending more for a company that cares. Their motto is an absolute joke. They seriously need to look at their staff who obviously don’t respect the company mantra. No follow up from feedback. Got their money up front now just want you to go away. A disgraceful and disrespectful company.
We engaged Allied Pickfords to move our household contents interstate. We chose the company believing a internationally known company would provide excellent service. We were let down. It started with the administrative staff. The items themselves were small but created a bad impression. Then packing day came. No show.
The two day pack was crammed into one day. Five workers over a 10 hour period the job was done.
Sucess? It would have been if various items showing a poor and rushed job hadn't happened.
Broken items due to bad wrapping, placement of items such as food with non food items and rubbish are examples I can present.
Allied Pickfords you've let yourselves down
Incompetence, arrogance and no responsibility
I called one company for my overseas move. Unfortunately for me, this company was Allied Pickfords.
I called and spoke with an Allied Pickfords gentleman with an Indian accent and sent an online form separately.
He confirmed that they had a shipment container departing Sydney in the first week of March. He confirmed that there was plenty of space on that container, and that my 2 to 3 cubic meters of boxes would make this shipment. I asked him what they required from me, and he said they would send a lady to give a more accurate estimate. He sa...
Their carelessness, your risk
Was not all bad. Some of the moving blokes seemed like nice people and the timeliness was good. But our stuff was damaged on a recent move from VIC to QLD - smashed glass pane on a cabinet and ripped wicker, stuff that had survived 3 moves previously, including a Bass Strait crossing. We insured a few items individually, but not the ones that were damaged. With AP knowing this, when we complained, they simply referred us to their insurance company. Will never use this crowd again.
Went over booked hours.
We used Allied Pickfords less than 12 months ago. We were so impressed with speed, service and value for money that we booked them again. This time we moved almost exactly back (one street away) from where we lived last move. The move was easier this time due to moving into a lowset home with less furniture than last move, however the movers were very slow, we have a couple of little chips out of timber furniture and the move actually took longer than last move. Obviously this increased the cost of the move. We were not consulted that the move ...may go over the 4 hours we booked for and the move was an hour and 15 minutes over the booked time of 4 hours. We are still waiting for an Operations Manager to contact us to explain the reason we were charged more for almost the exact same distance with less furniture and we specifically booked for 4 hours only.

Agreed a delivery time and date then they say they want more money as the boat came in early.
No customer service at all. It's all about them. No give to the customer just take take take
Beware of international moves
I used Allied for an international move from Australia to the US. Their U.S. partner - Schumacher - has been hugely frustrating to deal with. If you use Allied, beware of the other companies they contract at the destination, as quality can be quite poor.
Through Allied, I paid for delivery and unpacking service at my house in the US. However, upon arrival in the US, the Schumacher men refused to take the boxes upstairs, left them in the garage, and did not remove any of the packaging. After numerous follow-up calls, the delivery has still n...ot been completed properly. Schumacher has promised 3 times now that they would re-send men to finish the delivery - but each time, no men arrive, and no calls are received. This poor service has resulted in countless wasted hours of my time. Delivery still has not been completed properly, and I have not been compensated for this poor experience. Allied - please re-consider your partnership with Schumacher.

Lost but not forgotten
Tried to move from NZ to Australia. A modest size move of barely a truck load for one person - easy right?
The move itself seemed to go well (timing was good, people were nice) until delivery to destination, where upon I realised a box was missing on the consignment check-off sheet.
The delivery crew called their Newcastle office to see if they could located it, but to no avail. The Newcastle office then contacted the Sydney office who informed them the box in question didn't even arrive in Australia from NZ. I then proceeded to contact t...he NZ office who denied having the box in their possession. One can only assume it's in the Tasman sea then!? hmm, so it's either still in the warehouse(s) somewhere, stolen or shipped elsewhere. No accountability taken, typical pass-the-buck attitude. A warning: Do not assume you will not lose stuff as I did. Their online tracking system is ineffective (it's mostly there to make you feel good), as is their consignment check-off system. Make a full list, take photos, gather receipts and quotes for replacement of all items - you will need these for insurance (if you can be bothered).

Exhausting booking process
I wanted to book a removal job at relatively short notice; circumstances meant I wanted to move on a specific day and time.
Liaising with Pickfords was painfully slow and having completed and returned everything discovered that they only do pick ups in the afternoon, meaning that they wasted my time but also meant I had to look elsewhere.
I used Allied for the move from the UK to Australia, without issue.
This time, using them I'd say there booking process was long winded, wasteful and overly complicated.
I would not recommend them.
Move went smoothly cleaning service that cost nearly $600 that was organised with allied was disgraceful basic cleaning wasn't even done properly. Used allied twice in 8 months for interstate move would not use again.
Moved packages alright but no responsibility taken for damages
My family moved from regional city to metro city. It was a 4X2 house to 3X2 unit. Everything was settled fine and delivered on time. Uplift people came one early but when we look into it, we feel that they do not have the passion of work and very lazy in packing taking too much time. Did not bother to listen to our suggestions for packing of the furnitures. It results in breaking one of our bed frames where we suggested them to dismantle and pack which the guys don't agree or else we have give the owners manual. Delivery guys was very professio...nal and give good care to handle the packages. Office response was very poor when contacted fro the damage telling the excuse that we did not had the insurance. We don't understand the point, it should be the responsibility of the movers to handle the packages of the clients not the clients. Why should the client should pay for the damage caused due to miss handling of the packages by movers. It looks like "movers will take the money and deliver to clients premises but the responsibility of the damages falls to client side even if the goods are miss handled by movers. It looks like the responsibility of care to goods moved fall to client who pay for the move. So have to clients take insurance so that movers can handle the goods as they like. Do not need to bother about the damages. It looks conning to us. All together we are 50% happy with the move. Also uplift people did not put enough care for the protection of the door channels which damaged the rails of the glass door while moving packages out of the house where we had to repair it and couple of flower vases broken and the artificial flowers were not packed properly causing them to bend and made unuseful again. Tried to talk to the company rep from the uplift point but he handballed the issues to others telling they no responsibility of any damage.

My daughter is moving from Sydney to Tasmania her furniture will only fill half a container.
I believe she has to wait for the container to be filled before it is shipped.
With your experience on average how long will she have to wait for her container to be shipped to Tasmania I realise that you can not give me a definite time period I'm after an average.
