Avoid at all costs!
They don't even deserve one star
They are so bad at their jobs, it makes me angry they are somehow the main shipping coming in Aus. I've had the unfortunate experience of using them four times.
They do not do their basic jobs. They're the worst communicators. Not only do they not provide updates they don't reply to emails. They lose forms you've already sent and filled in. They ignore your shipping until you contact them asking what's going on.
We also used their packing service and they wrapped one bottle of nail varnish into a ft worth of wra...
Stress free move
I'd like to give a big rave to Allied Pickfords who moved us in Pyrmont. They made the whole experience stress free. The men were pleasant, polite and worked incredibly hard. All our belongings were packed and moved with care so that nothing was damaged or broken. Access of our new apartment was a bit tricky but this did not phase them, they problem solved when needed and their attitude was always pleasant. I would highly recommend them.
Expensive, but not careful – damaged and lost items
Private move from Perth to Melbourne, then to Sydney, with 3 months storage at Allied Pickfords in Dandenong. I only had 9 cubic meters worth of goods; most items were packed in cardboard or plastic boxes. I packed everything myself and padded fragile items with bubble wrap, clothes, or blankets. This worked well for all items that were stored in sturdy cardboard boxes. Some items arrived damaged, others didn’t arrive at all.
The good: The crew picking up and delivering my belongings was friendly, quick, and careful with the loading and unloa...ding of boxes. Plastic covers for a carpet and mattress were provided by AP. [name removed] provided exceptional customer service. She is an asset to the company. The bad: The inventory list the subcontractors provided while delivering the goods in Sydney was incomplete. I created my own inventory while packing up in Perth. This list allowed me to check if everything that left Perth arrived at its final destination. A carpet and a large plastic box were not on the list provided by AP. Luckily the subcontractors spotted the carpet during handover and added it to the inventory. The box is still missing and Allied Pickfords have not followed up. AP uses contractors and subcontractors to handle moves. After getting quotes from several companies, I picked AP because they assured me that they do not use subcontractors. I paid a lot of money expecting my belongings would be handled with care, by professionals who received respective training. Alas, I could have saved myself at least $1000 and picked any other company. The subcontractors delivering my belongings in Sydney apologised for the damaged items, said they had been picked up in that state, and that AP does not allow sufficient time for items to be handled with care. As a result, the boxes are often thrown from one truck to another. This is indeed what many of the boxes looked like.

Highly recommend Allied Pickfords
The Team at Allied Pickfords Emerald were great to deal with from beginning to end. A seamless removal for our office with some heavy safes etc. Would highly recommend them.

Very poor follow up
We moved from Melbourne to Ballina which included a few weeks of storage in the Melbourne facility. The collection from our Melbourne house was perfect and it was then put in storage.
We then purchased a place in Ballina and the furniture, 63 boxes, was delivered ahead of us arriving. 63 boxes were checked by a friend on arrival and he noted that 2 boxes had different names on them which we informed allied about.
We arrived in Ballina a week later and started unpacking and again informed Allied about the 2 boxes with wrong names. These were th...
I thoroughly recommend the Allied team, they made a complex and varied move very stress free.
A short distance move from one Canberra suburb to another. But a lot of very different things in the move, large bulky sculptures, pots, big bbq as well as the usual household furniture.
Very impressive team, from
Michael who assessed my requirement, Dean who coordinated my team, Luke who followed up how things were progressing, and the hugely capable and flexible team on the day. They arrived on time and worked quickly and were very strong. Nothing was too much trouble, everything was delivered and unpacked promptly in the rooms I nominated. A first class effort!
Very happy with Allied
We moved from Sydney to Perth our furniture and a car was moved with allied. I was a bit worried after having really bad removalist in the past as well as moving through the covid pandemic but they were fantastic. From start to finish allied were a great company to deal with. They arrived on time and delivered our belongings on time, the communication from there office in QLD was great Haylee was so friendly and helpful. Best of all there was no damage to our belongings. My car was moved with Ceva it only took 2 weeks to arrive which was earlier than the 3 weeks i was quoted. They were also very helpful when i phoned to update details and my car arrived in great condition. We will definitely be using allied pickfords again for future moves.
Poor customer service and misleading pricing
Regrettably I did not read the customer reviews on the Sydney branch and assumed all Allied Pickford branches adhere to the same level of customer service which has not been my experience. Now that I have read customer reviews I can see that I have also received poor customer service from the Sydney branch which is unfortunate as I chose to be a return customer due to my previous experience with the Tasmanian Allied Pickford branch.
Whilst the removal of my items was a good experience with friendly and efficient crew, dealing with the sales te...am has been less than satisfactory. In order to compare quotes I requested a full quote to move my items from Sydney, store for 6 months and then deliver to my new address in Tasmania. The invoice I received did not state the surcharge applied for moving over the Christmas period, my request to be quoted for 6 months storage was not added due to ‘standard’ company process that I was later informed of as supposedly ‘storage is not added to an invoice because they are not sure how long the items would be in storage’ however I specifically requested the sales representative to be quoted for 6 months which was disregarded. Insurance is sold by Allied Pickford and payment taken by Allied Pickford however this fee is also not added to the quote/ invoice received so trying to compare this Removalist service to other services from a price comparison is not a simple task. Needless to say the quote and what I have been charged is significantly different and did not include what I wanted which was not clearly explained before +$3,500 was debited from my credit card. Today when requesting for my items to be moved to my new address, I have now received an invoice for an additional +$1,000 which was completely unexpected as I thought I have prepaid in advance whilst I thought I may need to pay little bit extra depending on the location of my new address, I was shocked at a +S1,000 invoice, please note I moved home contents for studio apartment. When I enquired with the sales representative why I was not charged for the services I requested, I was curtly told that Allied Pickford quotes/ invoices are transparent and she made no enquiry regarding where a misunderstanding may have occurred. After my experience ‘transparent‘ is not a word I would use to describe the quote/ invoice provided by Allied Pickford. This service is too expensive to tolerate poor customer service and poor invoicing when customers are trying to compare quotes at the beginning of their move so to avoid unexpected charges. So disappointing when the moving crew and the Tasmanian Allied Pickford branch have been so fantastic to deal with during my previous move and this move. I would not be recommending using the Sydney branch of this service based on my experience which looks to supported by other customer reviews I have read.

Seamless service during COVID
The movers went the extra mile when we couldn’t return to Cairns during COVID-19. They did a video walk through so we could confirm the items to be moved. It was a seamless and contactless service. The service was exceptional
Great move, no fuss!
Large house move and car from Perth to Southern NSW through Covid pandemic. No stress organisation, management, uplift and delivery. Shareen was extremely professional, not only accommodating to our preferred dates but her and the rest of the team were also able to give accuracy on dates and times which was important for our own logistics the other end and peace of mind. Very competitive on costs. We would use them again in a heartbeat.

Made it look easy!
I requested the assistance of Allied to move a small amount of furniture within the same suburb. The price was great, nothing was too much trouble in the quote and on the day the boys turned up and made it look easy! No marks on the white furniture, all handled with care and the boys were very helpful in the placement of items at the new place. Excellent service, would recommend and certainly use again.
Terrible experience DO NOT USE ALLIED PICKFORDS
Firstly, the quote was grossly inaccurate, as I was asked to pay more when the packers came. I declined this, as someone had actually physically come out to look at my belongings and to quote me.
My shipment took a total of 6 months to finally get to the destination, I was told 8-12 weeks! Absolutely ludicrous. The contact at the destination was rude and unhelpful, and I was told that they operate on a 'part-load service' and I had to wait until there were more deliveries in my area. I was not told this upon taking out the contract. There was ...

Very prompt, efficient and the staff were very professional and hard working.
4 bedroom and had both short and long moves(Geelong in Victoria and Gove in the NT). Both ways work done was on time and deliver earlier. Both Andrew and his team are very dedicated with their work. Even in these difficult times of the Covid-19 pandemic, they were very aware of what to do and how to still get their work done maintaining social distance. Martin and myself were very please with choosing Allied Pickfords. Will definitely recommend to all our friends. Thank you guys! Much appreciated.

Would not recommend
Our move started and finished on time.
However before my move I was assured that our Lounge and matteresses would be wrapped in plastic and other big expensive items would be wrapped for protection. Unfortunately this did not occur.
When we asked them about the plastic for our lounge in particular, we where told they didn't have big enough plastic for it even though we told them the size of it beforehand.
They seemed to be worried more about getting it done as quickly as possible rather then delivering our goods in a clean, undamaged condition.
I would not recommend or go through these guys again.
Avoid at all cost!
We recently moved from Melbourne to Queensland with Allied Pickfords. The packing was atrocious! We had kitchen utensils thrown in boxes with outdoor footwear, delicate items with no protective wrapping and many items lost in transport including the essentials box with all the bolts and screws to reassemble items. We used their storage facilities as the property we rented whilst building was significantly smaller than the property we left so therefore around 2/3 of our belongings had to be stored. When we had the storage items delivered many th...ings were returned to us broken, many of these were sentimental presents bought by parents no longer with us so totally irreplaceable. We took out insurance but our items were in storage for 12 months and they said it exceeded the timeframe for reimbursement of the $16,500 damages/loss they had caused. We sought legal advice but the costs were escalating just to get AP to respond with basically tough there’s nothing we will do to put right our mistakes. We attached pictures of all the damage and evidence of the extremely poor packing but they just didn’t care. My advice is, if you value your belongings then never ever trust them with Allied Pickfords, they certainly show no evidence of’the careful movers’
Unprofessional and Appalling Service
After Allied Pickford's rep visited our 3 bedroom property and assured us that they are professionals and will take care of our goods, we hired them to transport basic furniture and appliances to our new property 12 minutes away.
The movers arrived on time.
We were promised that all our mattresses will be wrapped in cover to ensure they stayed clean and hygienic during the move. THEY WERE NOT. The movers conveniently mentioned that they do not have any covers left. When they were relocated to the new property, they had dirt marks all over the...

Done quick and no damage. Very good.
Would recommend. Good price. Showed up on time
Happy from beginning to end
From our first conversation with Tyler we were more than happy with the service we received. On the day of our move Tyler, Jesse, Paul and Nic did everything they could to make the move as smooth as possible. Even down to helping with suggestions as to where to place larger items of furniture to maximise light etc. Guys you were amazing and we cannot thank you enough.

Amazing service, more from movers than I’ve ever experienced.
I moved from interstate, into a two story townhouse. Very polite, and friendly people on the phone, and to deal with. Actual delivery date occurred two weeks earlier than estimated date. Not only that but the movers were early on the day too, and were extremely friendly, efficient and helpful. More was done for me, than has ever previously been done, in my experiences with other moving companies. They went above and beyond, and it was much appreciated. They really know how to manage the obstacles presented with stairs. Thank you :)
Nothing was too much trouble!
We moved our family home of 15 years. It was a big job and we had many boxes of books, plant pots, as well as the general household goods and collections of family treasures. Adam quoted the job and completely allayed
all my fears and worries about the move. He was calm, honest and genuine in all the dealings we had with him. On the day of the move , the removalists were just a wonderful team. They were punctual, careful and considerate of all our needs and did an amazing job. Thank you!

Perth to Port Hedland
Our move was from Perth to Port Hedland.
3x2 house to a 2x1.
The move happened on time. I did feel once I signed the contract that the 'ask any questions' communication, friendliness stopped.
One of our draws had a leg snap off and it was just placed in the room, obviously they knew it broke because I found the leg in the draw, it would of been nice to be told about it. Other than that nothing else was broken.
One of the worst experiences of our lives.
Never have I been so stressed with moving. Crew were late apparently after an added job and they rushed with absolutely no regards to our valued possessions. Crew at other end commented it was packed very ordinary. Artwork, bikes etc was promised to be boxed but were covered with wet coverings left on driveway during the rain. Boxes marked fragile were turned upside down, tubs were dropped and shattered. Seriously a horrible experience. Contact was made but ignored after many communications. Seriously could not condemn a business more. Better o...ff spending more for a company that cares. Their motto is an absolute joke. They seriously need to look at their staff who obviously don’t respect the company mantra. No follow up from feedback. Got their money up front now just want you to go away. A disgraceful and disrespectful company.
Took over 3 months from Sydney to NZ, zero communication when I repeatedly contacted them.
Worst decision using this shipping company. Took over 3 months to get my cartons delivered. They picked up early December from Sydney and then it sat in Sydney for months. I didn't get delivery in NZ until mid March. Should have built my own raft and floated it across myself.
They advertise on their website, 8-10 weeks for AUS to NZ, that's complete lies. In fact, on the phone the sales person told me its more like 4-6 weeks for delivery.
I started university here end of Feb and ended up having to buy a new computer, clothes, study gear etc...... because my entire life was sitting in their depot. It didn't leave Sydney until mid February. I had 12 cartons from Sydney to NZ. The only communication I had with this company was when they wanted payment. As Soon as they were paid, communication stopped. I had to chase everything from the pick up date to paperwork and customs forms. The 'move coordinator' never got in touch, never responded to emails, it was not until I rang the NZ branch and had a whinge did they put me through to Aus to speak directly with him. He had no answers and didn't care. Told me 'it should be delivered in the next two weeks'. There are other movers who are better and give realistic time frames, I've used other companies before.

Best team ever
Great service from the Townsville team. Pick up was at 2 different locations, one being a storage facility and the other was a 3 bedroom house. Our house flooded in Feb 2019 and Allied Pickfords Townsville saved my sanity by coming in and packing what we had managed to save and took it all to the storage. We had to rent for 12 months while our house was fixed and when time came to move back I asked the Townsville team to help us move back in. They were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Will recommend to everyone who asks

Great worry free move.
The move started and finished on time.? The load was half a house full going to WA from Townsville. We had most of our gear packed and the movers did the rest for us.

My daughter is moving from Sydney to Tasmania her furniture will only fill half a container.
I believe she has to wait for the container to be filled before it is shipped.
With your experience on average how long will she have to wait for her container to be shipped to Tasmania I realise that you can not give me a definite time period I'm after an average.
