We bought a 3+2 seater recliner from AMART but the leather disintegrated with in the first year.
When I contacted the AMART, they were pretty rude and did not show any interest in solving the issue.
Now looking at this forum I realised this is common problem.
Peeling 3-yr old corner chaise lounge so disappointed in Super Amart
Bought just over 3 years ago. We have loved it until the bonded leather started peeling off of it. We paid $730 for this couch and in good faith expected it to last much longer. We are extremely disappointed with the quality and feeling ripped off and upset.
Savannah outdoor setting
Have wanted this 10 seater outdoor setting since I first saw it. So I was over the moon when my work colleagues purchased it as our wedding/new home/leaving work present. It would have been purchased around February. It all remained boxed. We held off building the table and chairs until beginning of September. The table has now started to leach sticky stuff from the wood along with some of the arms of the chairs and three out of four table legs have split.
I called oxley branch and explained the situation. Lady was very polite but was unable...
I purchased 4 items from Amart and they are all a disappointment.
Firstly the leather corner lounge it twisted the frames on the recliners.
The tv unit was advertised as solid timber it peeled as it was only laminated timber and it bent in the middle.
The dining table also peeled and the leg on one corner was loose from day one.
the chairs for the table are the only good thing they are still in perfect condition.
the double bed for my daughter had the inserts pull out on the timber as the are only glued in.
We have just ordered a new dining table from 1825 when that arrives we will no longer have Amart furniture in our home and we will never shop there again.

Bad Service, Unroadworthy complimentary trailers
Purchased a lounge and dining suite, waited for the 3 day cheque clearance and on the 4th day rang up to be told they never submitted cheque till following day(tuesday) so it won't clear till Thursday. Ring Thursday wasn't cleared they said Friday. Ring Friday not cleared.. what the heck.. so speak to manager he says yes it's cleared, why were you told it wasn't? So we book a trailer to collect..hook it up and find it has no brake lights and fries my fuse in my car. so we tell the guy and he walks off as he doesn't know what to do. so we go h...ome ring manager again and he says he will look into it. he calls back and says come up so we do and hook the trailer up and it still doesn't work. so the manager comes out then goes away and doesn't come back. so i ring and get another manager and he comes out and says we can deliver it free of charge monday. so i have to wait nearly 3 more days after 3 trips to Super a mart to get my lounge and dinging suite.. what is wrong with people and where is the good customer service today. i got treated like an idiot. i paid my hard earned money to purchase items i can't get. i wish i could get money back and go elsewhere.
A Response from Super Amart would be nice for a dodgey product!
I contacted Super Amart weeks ago about a bookcase I purchased in December.
The whole thing is bowed in the centre- I've provided photos, yet no one has contacted me! I telephoned and was told to email super Amart, I did this and still no response!

Super Amart = Super Disappointed
Went to Amart oxley. Asked for an ice chest drawer. Salesman told me it is out of stock and will be available after a few days. We rented a car to pick it up coz it is cheaper than the delivery fee so i asked him to tell me which branch has it since I dont want it to be delivered. He came back to me saying they have 1 more stock. So I paid for it and went to the pick up area and the guy there told us that it is out of stock. I told him what the salesman said and he went to the other warehouse to pick it up. We went home and what a big disappoin...tment!!! The chest drawer is damaged and we already return the rental car!!!!! I bet he deliberately gave me a damaged item for the sake of sales commission! So i have to return the 45kg item!!! We dont have a car so it will really cost me a lot of money to return it and have it delivered! Disappointment is an understatement!! Moving in to a new house is very stressful but what that super amart salesperson did is unacceptable!
Bad customer service
We bought a $1500 bed and mattress in January 2013 and we are unable to sleep on it because it sinks on either side of the midrail of the bed. We contacted the oxley store who insisted it was the mattress so it got sent away twice and nothing has changed . Have contacted them again and after waiting days for a reply they say there's nothing they can do about it. Like it or lump it basically !! I have tried to find contact details to get in touch with somebody in head office but can't find anything. I don't think it's fair that we spend so much money and tough [censored word removed] is pretty much the response we get.
Dont try and get replacement parts
I received a delivery of a single Geneva bed. Two pieces of dowel which hold the bedhead post and rail together were broken. I rang spare parts and ordered replacement dowel pieces on 12/1/13. The parts arrived on the 4/2/13 but they were the wrong size. Staff have a do not care attitude.
Long delivery times, sent wrong size.
Poor customer service (Oxley-Brisbane store)
I called up the Oxley store to ask if they had the Haven umbrella base as we already had the umbrella(brought from the Kessels rd store) but at he time of buying this the Kessels road store didn't have the base. The lady I spoke to said they had it in stock but you could only buy the umbrella and base together. My husband called the following day and to our surprise they said that he could buy the base on its own. The lady who I initially spoke to was very unhelpful and rude. There also seems to be a lot of confusion about sales.
Bad customer service
I purchased a Leather lounge in 2008 from the catalogue which we paid for as it was to take 4 weeks. With a lot of phone calls and a substitute lounge sent to use it took 24 weeks. I vowed never to use Amart Oxley but sadly there was a leather warranty issue and then we had to deal with them again. We had to get another type of lounge so we paid the extra as we were told by the salesperson it would take 6 weeks then as the docket is printing another staff member said it may take 12 weeks. Well it took 19 weeks then the wrong colour was delive...red. I contacted and spoke to other staff and then to the Manager who I might add was rude and she stated that's fine you have to wait another 20 weeks. I stated that I spoke to someones else there who said I could have the correct lounge in 7 weeks her reply "Oh she must be in the office everyone knows it is 20 weeks for a special order". Well Amart train your staff to tell the truth in the first place not wait till you have our money and then treat us like second class citizens No I will never buy another thing there. My advice do not shop at Amart Oxley. Rude \Manager Misleading staff just to get your sale
We brought a modular lounge from them a few years ago. The recliners in th lounge kept breaking. After many visits from repair men they agreed to replace the lounge. It was under warranty. The one we had was no longer available so we were able to pick another one. We found one we liked it was in leather but we wanted it in fabric. We were told the fabric lounge was exactly the same in dimensions and we were shown the fabric on the same style modular. Which looked a grey nice fabric.
We had fabric protection on our old lounge and were told t...hat would be replace too.We thought everything was great and waited for the lounge to be delivered. It came the following week. When it came, it was the wrong colour and bigger than the leather one. So I rang amart straight away told the lady at admin desk the problem she put me on hold when she got back to me she said she spoke to the manager and he wanted to wait until the sales person was in two days later to resolve the problem and everything would be sorted out then he would call me. I asked what I was meant to do in the meantime, I was told I was free to use the new lounge and take the plastic off. So I waited for a call. It came two days later, spoke to the salesperson about the problems he said nothing really and said he would have the manager call me back. I thought this was strange as it was the manager who said the salesperson would sort it out. Three hours later the manager called back. He was not willing to exchange the couch. Saying that the colour was the same as I was shown. I said it is not it is brown not grey and the dimensions are not what I was told and it will not fit in where I want it in my lounge room. He said he had another lounge from the same batch as ours he would compare that to the colour fabric I was shown. I asked how does that help I have my lounge here it could be I different colour to the both of them and I can not see it throught the phone. Then he said fine if I was not happy with the lounge he would replace it. On the condition that it was in the same condition as i was given it. No stains or marks, i said i was told to use it so had taken plastic wrap off but left the tags on and there were no marks or stains on it. He replied by saying make sure there isnt with kids and all. ( heard kids in the background on the call) also he would not provide the delivery back to the store or delivery of any couch I would have to pay again and I would not be given another fabric protection, I would have to pay for that again. By this time I was furious and said I would speak to my husband about it and phone back. He said that's fine and hung up. I have not rang back yet still furious, but had a laugh at the returns policy on the website sounds all nice. Maybe managers and salespeople need to be reminded about there own policies. I will never shop there again and tell everyone my opinion of them. Feel like you are getting good customer service. They stuff up and then turn on you.
