TV unit and buffet.
Made purchase in store after being approached by 5 sales people, had the TV unit delivered opened it up and found dent, rang store they offered $50 voucher ended up getting $100 voucher. Purchased Buffet had it delivered, went to screw handles on and handles didn't line up had to carefully drill the hole slightly larger to make handle look straight. All in all you get what you pay for.
Very poor after sale service, Won't recomend anyone
I bought leather Recliner from Amart one and half year back from Mentone Store. At the time of sale they said, take insurance also so that in case of any issue they replace the recliner. I took insurance as a proactive measure and paid extra money.
In one and half year leather start tearing off from my recliner, I have logged a call (Claim ID 22151) with AMART their technician came after four days to inspect the Recliner. They have updated me that some one will give call to me that too after 10 DAYS when I asked them for update. Still I do not have any ETA for their technician...

Paid $899 and week later received catalogue same item now $599!
We recently purchased a 2 piece sofa set for $899 in store.Coming up to Christmas we asked the salesman whether any discount was possible but were told this was brand new stock so item could not be discounted.About a week later we received a catalogue offering same set for $599! Given it presumably takes some time to print catalogues we can only assume were were deceived to be polite.Luckily we have Guaranteed Price policy as part of our Commbank Credit card and kudos to Commbank for speedily agreeing to refund the $300 which Amart in effect ripped us off by.A first and last experience of ever shopping at this place.
Max from Mentone, This One's For You
I ordered practically a whole house full of furniture from the Frankston store but due to delivery driver bookings, I was unable to get it delivered when I would have wanted. Luckily, I rang Mentone to see if they had any of the stock I needed available for delivery and got incredibly lucky when Max answered the phone. Within an hour, he'd rectified my situation and facilitated the organisation of my furniture delivery.
I cannot speak more highly of Max's professionalism and found him to be highly personable. He found a favourable solution for all concerned and thanks to him, I'm about to enjoy my first night in my first home with my fantastic quality furniture.
Faulty Goods & Poor Service
I am extremely disappointed in the service provided by Mentone SuperAmart. I purchased an $1800 outdoor setting that had:
- 3 x faulty chairs: 2 split, 1 no thread for screw
- Table leg split
I sent photos as requested and had multiple phone calls with the store re: this where it was agreed a new table and replacement chairs would be provided, delivered and assembled.
I took a day off today to have the new table and chairs delivered. Upon arrival of the goods, only 2 x replacement chairs were sent out instead of 3. I now have 9 seats for a 10 seater table…
I contacted the store and advised I was again not happy due to:
- Receiving faulty goods
- Waiting on new table/chairs to arrive ...
The worst service I have ever experienced!!!!
After spending over $1200,00 on furniture I returned the next week to purchase more.
Firstly if you purchase furniture outside of IKEA I think the sales person should mention it arrives flat packed and you need to spend at least two three days putting it together (unless you go mad in the process and institutionalised)
Then to return to get another rug to be told by the rudest, laziest salesman I have ever experienced "no" I could order the rug "maybe" but cant have one of the FOUR currently on the floor as they are in displays!!!!
What kind of business is that!
He was so rude about it, my even asking was an inconvenience to him who clearly would have preferred to be home in bed. ...I enquired about some lounge chairs he reluctantly gave me a rough price and walked off! All round a terrible experience and a stupid company policy not to sell floor stock (when there are FOUR out) you just lost a $400 sale on top of my $1200 and a future customer. If this is typical sales service good luck!!! You'll need it. Lost me who went to Pillow Talk where they completely undid a centre display to sell me the rug and now I'm looking for a bed and mattress I know where I wont go!!! Appalling!
Great service and great products
I'm writing this because I don't understand the negative reviews and want to share our 3 very positive and separate experiences. We purchased on 3 separate occasions from the Mentone, VIC store and every time the staff were knowledgeable, courteous and very helpful without being pushy. We bought a low line tv console, a stand up bar, 3 different side tables, coffee table, queen bed + mattress and a budget single bed. This was 12 months ago and the quality can't be faulted - every item is still like new, no problems at all. The delivery service ...was great, on-time and really helpful. They even delivered to a location outside the CBD - 1.5 hours drive away on a Public Holiday ! Sure you pay extra for country delivery but it was worth it for us to save the hassle. They delivered to us locally - again, on-time and one item I picked up in store. I highly recommend this store and their products. Be wary of reviewers who only have 1 review to their name that is negative - I question their motives.
Terrible delivery service
Not willing to quote delivery times (asked 5 times, different people). Not flexible at all. Won't call you after. Don't stand behind delivery guys statements. Need to sleep without bed now for several days. Only order very unurgent items!

Ok here we go.. We bought a bedroom suite , dining suite, coffee table and entertainment unit in December 2015 from Amart (very very bad decision). We bought a new house and hence got the entire set. So much for being loyal to Amart. My story goes like this.. We checked 4times in Jan and Feb if our delivery was on track. The store people assured us that it was on track and we would receive everything in Feb. Finally just before we moved to our new house in Feb we got a call from Amart saying our bedroom suite wouldn't arrive until March end. Se...riously? You couldn't have told that in one of the 4 times I called you before? And how come you thought our coffee table was much more important than bed? We ended up sleeping on floor with a mattress for over a month! And thn story doesn't end here. We received a phone call yesterday saying our bedroom suite was ready to be delivered. I was super excited! We got it delivered yesterday without the tall chest saying they would bring it in an hour. And exactly after 10mins I get a call from the store saying our tall chest wouldn't be delivered until mid may ! U gotta to be freaking kidding!! While I was promised that entire set would be delivered in March..I got furious and the lady says there are 100 other customers waiting. I am so sorry lady..that's ur problem! If you can't handle orders why the heck to you sell the product? Story doesn't stop here too. I opened my bedside tables to find out that one side table had been damaged. I call the store again for the Nth time and she asks me if I am happy to have the damaged piece for a discount. I said no.. And then she replies..you have to wait till mid may for the side table go be replaced. It's your fault to have delivered the damaged piece and I will have to pay the price. I would never ever suggest this crappy place to anyone. Done with this! I warned my friends who were loyal to Amart as well! Horrible horrible place..watch out!

Do not buy furniture from Super Amart - has formaldehyde poisoning (product from China) and when complained to Manager, not receptive and very rude. My child was extremely sick until we got rid of the furniture from her room - chest of drawers bought brand new.
We received wonderful service from the mentone store. After shopping around for some time we knew what we wanted (black leather modular lounge) and had a very specific configuration and size to work within. The leather modular which ticked the boxes on all but price was discussed with the sales person and Amart were great, giving us this latest model at the previous models discounted price.
Super Amart Mentone - Super Service
This would have to be one of the best retail experiences I can remember. Kyle who took my order, was straightforward, friendly and extremely helpful in organising my furniture to be available when I needed it, at a great price. Even when I picked up my furniture, the lady at reception and man in the loading bay were just so friendly and helpful, I couldn't believe a whole store could have such a great, customer focused attitude. Will definitely be shopping there again and recommending to all my family and friends.
After reading reviews on this site I was wary of purchasing from Super A-Mart but went ahead anyway due to seeing a lounge suite that suited me. I purchased Cedar Falls three piece lounge package from the Mentone store. Customer service seemed to be lacking on my first visit and also at the Springvale store but returning to Mentone I was nicely surprised to find a helpful salesman. Pleasant transaction and delivery two days later. It was arranged to have the lounge suite set up but the delivery guys initially refused to do this. The deliver...y guys were very helpful and a quick phone call to the salesman resolved this. Although the salesman promised to have the packing removed, it was not taken. The lounge suite looks as good as in the showroom and I am very happy with it.
Excellent customer service
Recently I visited Super A-mart mentone to furnish my new home. I visited with the intent on purchasing a bedroom package and some smaller items, however ended up purchasing a leather lounge suite.
Working in the retail industry, I know how important good customer service is. For a non high end furniture store ( which I had visited for lounge suites) I was pleasantly suprised with the high level of customer service. My partner and I were approached numerous times and offered advice. The sales assistant who assisted us catered to our needs t...o ensure we got the lounge suite we desired. In terms of the quality of the item in question I was very pleased. We opted for the excellence 6-7 seat recliner/ chaise in 100% leather ( decent grade leather too I may add). Time will tell how it withstands daily use. After spending over $3000 on a couch and rug there I will definitely be returning to purchase other items. Customer service, quality item, affordability
